Cool! Thank you very much for the information! Congratulations on getting your degree soon! I'm a big woman with big muscles! I take offense to that! How dare you doubt me! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Doug is a really cool person, and I'm happy for him and Majik! Congratulations! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Hi, Bobo! You rock! Love the photo! When are we gonna drink some beers together?

It goes both ways, Bill. I know plenty of women like myself who prefer dogs, but we still get offended if a person tries to sniff our butts! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I don't mind tension/competition between owners because that's natural. Everybody has their own little way to advertise better than their neighbor, and I'm all for that. Healthy competition isn't so bad. I get so sick of "My dz/canopy/container/jumpsuit/etc is better than yours." I don't mind, "I like my dz/canopy/container/jumpsuit/etc the best because of (insert some basis for opinion here.)" There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I think people should start making checklists to simplify things. Seriously, from the very beginning, people should just be honest, write down a list of expectations/things that piss them off/what they like/what they want from the other person/etc. People trying to read each other is so silly. I propose that we all make this much easier. The only problem with that is that people would have to be honest with themselves first. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

It's too bad you didn't make it...you could've been the only cool person on that show! I also discovered just how much people with nothing much to say really enjoy talking about themselves! The guy who was standing in line behind me took his wedding ring off for the interview, too (also the guy who thinks that communication is stupid.) Yes! If I had the choice, I would go on Road Rules. Travelling around, doing fun stuff, winning prizes is more attractive to me. No, I sure didn't. I guess I just saw the casting call as an opportunity. It was a short bus ride from where I work, it's free, and I didn't really want to pass it up. If I'm meant to be on the show, then I figure a casting call was good enough. I kind of do, too. He kept talking, so it was hard to jump in. Some other girl (the one there that I liked) interrupted him and said, "I discuss that with the people I'm with." I actually did try to jump in, but he had one of those loud voices that just wouldn't stop, so oh well. Yes! I agree! Plus, I'd come here and post about what's actually going on there! It would be neat to see a skydiver on there, though. When everyone else is complaining, "Oh my god! I could've died!" the skydiver would be saying, "Hold my beer and watch this!" I haven't put many jumps on a BirdMan suit, so I didn't get a good enough feel for which muscle groups it takes to fly one well. Also, I have, obviously, never flown a Skyflyer, and have no idea of just how much more muscle it takes. So, since I'm going to get back into my weight training program, can anyone recommend excercises/muscle groups to work/etc to improve my performance? If I'm gonna workout, I may as well help my skydiving while doing it! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

OMG! I agree with Remi! I think this was my favorite part: Shit! What have I been doing? All but 15 of my jumps have been somewhere other than Perris! Seriously, it's the competition like that that gets really really annoying. What's even more annoying is that you won't catch more experienced jumpers at Perris saying that, and they'll even jump elsewhere! If the smaller dropzones I've jumped at aren't real, should I have logged those jumps? Were those jumps also not real? Actually, if those dzs aren't real, that means the stuff that I did when I was really really drunk wasn't real either! Yes! As for myself, I've slowed down this year. I made 300 last year (when I had no money of my own) to about 100 this year (when I do have money.) There have been many reasons for that (my home dz closing, trying to save money, some of the excitement is gone, people's egos get annoying, etc.) I still love the sport, but I just realize that going out and doing 8 jumps in a weekend gives me as much satisfaction as doing 16. Plus, I save big money! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I will chalk last night up to an odd experience that I had, and I will share the story about it with all of you (and give you tips of how to actually make it on!) So, I wasted some time having to wait in a very long line. We had to fill out this questionnaire while we waited with the typical personality questions (ie best/worst traits, most embarrassing moment, something unusual about yourself, relationship crap, etc.) So, they finally took 14 of us in, and we sat around in a circle with the casting director, a cute woman who seemed rather annoyed. I sat somewhat across from her far away from the annoying people. Before anything really started, David and Cara from the last Road Rules walked on by and small talked with us for a few. He was surprisingly short. One girl in the group freaked out when they started talking to us...I don't really know why. She had us go around introducing ourselves, and no one really seemed to "stand out." Then, she told us that she was going to ask the group a question, and we should just chime in whenever. So, she asked, "In a relationship, what is cheating?" I smiled, waited a second, and was the first to answer. I had to giggle about that question, and this thread should explain why. Most people gave their own personal definition of cheating, and no one was really original. If I get a call-back, it will be because of my awesome answer to that question. If they don't like it, fine by me! That answer was as much of "myself" as I could be. One guy got snippy and said, "Who really lists things like that out?" in response to my, "Whatever goes against the agreed terms." I almost started an argument and said, "It's called communication. Try it. Or...maybe that's why you're already divorced at the age of 20." I didn't say it, because it may have hurt my chances. After that, she had us go around in the circle and say what a misconception about us was. All the girls but one other woman and myself answered, "People think I'm a bitch until they get to know me." That girl who answered differently and the guy that sat next to me have a reasonable chance of getting on (imho.) At the end, she told us to ask any questions that we had. Most everyone asked the typical, "When will we found out if we get called back?", "How many people get called back?" She seemed annoyed by that. After that was all done, I told her that it was nice to meet her, and I walked outside. I ran into a skydiver that I've known since my student status days that jumps at Skydive Chicago now! We chit chatted for a few, and we made pseudo-plans to actually hang out and jump one of these days. So, this all was worth it since I ran into someone who did some student status jumps at my old home dz! Proof that everything works out for the best! If anyone seriously wants to get on, I suggest sending in a video tape. A person watching just you for 10 minutes instead of watching you and 13 other people for 10 minutes seems preferrable. If you aren't original, don't bother applying. Most of the group discussion was filled with about 9 people who were all exactly alike, all talking way too much, and all saying the exact same thing. If you aren't interesting, talking more will only hurt your chances. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Go for it! I'm no longer blonde! Sigh...impressionable? Please! If you're going to insult, at least make it accurate. You should've replaced impressionable with drunk or some other fitting term. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

I thought about switching to soy beer, but it hasn't gotten good reviews. What? Did you want me to post about what a great butt he has instead? No...he lost his appetite when he realized he's gonna have to pay up on his bet. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Wow! I have absolutely no idea of what you should do! Much respect to you for not smacking her upside the head, though. You have much more patience than I could ever pretend to have. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

The best argument I heard during speech class in favor of legalizing drugs: Alcohol is legal. We let fathers go get drunk, come home, puke, and beat their kids. If we let pot be legal, that father would stay home and watch a movie with his kids. My personal stance: I see both good and bad reasons of legalizing drugs. Some should never be legal (sorry, I just can't justify legalizing heroin for tax purposes.) My guess is that if you legalized pot, since it's so widely available, people who didn't try it before wouldn't try it if it was legal. My problem with legalizing pot is people driving under the influence. It's hard to determine if they are high while driving or if they just smoke enough and have a large amount of THC in their system. I've heard there are saliva tests to see if someone had recently smoked, but I believe they were not accurate enough for my liking. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Ahhh....WrongWay...you say, "whuffo," like it's a bad word. Yes, some of my best friends are [gasp] whuffos! I don't jump every weekend now, so I don't see why that would be a big deal. If I got onto Road Rules, there would be 2-3 months I probably wouldn't jump at all, but I would have the opportunity to do many things that I normally couldn't do. I can't afford to take that much time off of work and roam about New Zealand. If MTV paid for it, I would gladly not jump for a few to see a cool place like that. I'm sure there are skydivers saying that about me, too I see what everyone is saying, but sheesh! I don't think just going and spending an hour or two today at a casting call will really affect my life any! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

But I can't possibly stoop to yours! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Haha! Yeah, that's why I'm going to the casting call at least! I've got nothing to lose except for a few hours of my time (I unfortunately left the book I was reading back in Ohio, so I really will be wasting a few hours of my time!) Yeah, it doesn't always seem "fair" or "balanced." If they don't like me because I'm not pretty enough or party enough, I'm okay with that. This was my theory on that: I have many interests, and some of them seem more exciting than others. They really don't care to hear that I really enjoy math, and I even used to do math problems for fun (it's my job now, so I don't do anything math related outside of work! ) I'm not going to play up that I really enjoy singing 80s tunes and dancing around the house. I agree. But, I have many interesting stories due to my being in skydiving. No, skydiving doesn't change who a person really is. If they're a jerk before skydiving, they'll most likely be a jerk after skydiving. However, when they ask me what the craziest thing I've ever done was, I have a few things that can surely top any "Getting really drunk in Mexico," "At this frat party I" kind of stories. Also, I know I'm a little different than most people because I hear it all the time, I just don't always know what makes me "stand out." Do they want to hear about how I enjoy travelling and the cool places I've been? Do they want to hear about the good books I've read lately? Do they want to hear about my cute nephews? Do they want to hear about why I love belly dancing? Do they want to hear that my boyfriend is a good kisser? Do they want to hear all of the hurdles I've had in life (everyone has them, though)? Do they want to hear about my nekkid jump? Etc...what's interesting to people? I just don't know! YES! This is the kind of answer I was looking for! I like that idea, too! Oh, and thanks for the compliments everyone I'm really not that strong...just loud mouthed! I don't really have a problem with that. I think that's why I never tried out for it in college! Right now, it wouldn't really bother me what they saw. Thanks for the input everyone! I guess it's just kind of fun to think about what it would be like to be on the Real World or Road Rules. Personally, I think it would be great to be on Road Rules and win a bunch of stuff. I guess I see this casting call like anything else...I don't want to look back and think, "I should've done that..." If I try out for it and not get it, well, no big deal. They didn't like my look, I'm not crazy enough, they don't want someone like me...oh well. Sangiro, if I make it on, can I wear a dz.com t-shirt? That that is a silly observation. Of the containers I tried, I liked the Odyssey the best. If a Vector 3 would've felt more comfortable, I would've gotten that, however (it doesn't completely sit on my lower back). I've heard of way too many problems with Wings and Mirage, and I haven't tried any other containers. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Well, this thread really wasn't that serious. I don't really intend on coming up with fake stories, being a drama queen, or anything like that. But, there would be many good reasons to fake it. I could live in a big house in a cool city. I could travel in a nice rv while winning cars/money/etc. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Geeze...you go out a few times during college, and people start calling you all sorts of names! Okay, so I'll just go in and be myself. I'll smile a bunch, make fun of other people, and I'll make sure to get in a heated debate while I'm there. I'll try to sell tandems to everyone, and I may include a skydiving picture as the one you are supposed to bring. If I don't make it on the show, I will throw a hissy fit. Completely hijacking my own thread, I want a beer right now. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Oh my gosh! That's actually a really good idea! I have my Skydive.com shirt from Hinckley that says, "Because everywhere else just sucks," and I have my Skydive.com business cards! Maybe I'll take a shiny pull up cord or wear a closing pin necklace! Haha! Yes, I know this is all in good fun. I won't take not getting on the show or not getting a call back personally since I am okay with not being categorized with most of the people on that show! But, I am a pain in the ass! I thought about that, and I doubt I would do anything on the show that I would regret. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Yeah, I'm unfortunately not a model like the girls on the show are, but I can still hope, right? I like the struggling to find god bit. I'll say that's why I skydive...to be closer to heaven! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
