  1. With out sounding like a crazy conspiracy type, this is crazy! And I'm surprised that not only is it fact and can be supported with ease, I had no idea of the magnitude of this situation. I've heard the talk, the left saying this and the right saying that. But the fact is that the "Neo-Cons" are in control. The plan is no doubt underway. And it just might be too late. If not what can we REALLY do? Do you understand "the implications of an imperial foreign/military policy on our economy, on our young people in uniform, on our moral sense of ourselves as a nation, on our constitutional freedoms, and on our treaty obligations -- which is to say, our respect for the rule of law." http://www.crisispapers.org/Editorials/PNAC-Primer.htm Say what you want about the link, it is fact. The more I try to make it not true. It seems it is not fantasy. So if you have not been made aware of this information, here ya go. If you have, go spread the word. Our country is at stake. If not already gone. The connections are all here, so spend an evening or an afternoon and listen , watch and read. www.newamericancentury.org Don't forget to study they're value's: http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm Especially the part where it says: Our aim is to remind Americans of these lessons and to draw their consequences for today. Here are four consequences: • we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future; • we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values; • we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad; • we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles. Now look when it was written - June 1997 And who represents these values and fights to preserve them, apparently at all costs. Elliott Abrams Gary Bauer William J. Bennett Jeb Bush Dick Cheney Eliot A. Cohen Midge Decter Paula Dobriansky Steve Forbes Aaron Friedberg Francis Fukuyama Frank Gaffney Fred C. Ikle Donald Kagan Zalmay Khalilzad I. Lewis Libby Norman Podhoretz Dan Quayle Peter W. Rodman Stephen P. Rosen Henry S. Rowen Donald Rumsfeld Vin Weber George Weigel GOOGLE THESE NAMES! YOU WILL PISS YOUR PANTS! The Neo-Cons, as they actually call themselves, are out of the game in 1997. Pressuring Clinton to invade Iraq, which he won't. They spent that time planning for when they have power and trying to influence what they can. As you read these links you will see that the plan was to control the media, make Republican bashing "un-American", create fear, build the military by 8%, and on and on and on. All now well underway. Pre-planned and well thought out. 9/11 was the day it all came true. Keep reading on your own and form your on opinions. It seems Mcain has now gotten his turn. Got goose bumps when I saw Max Boot is his advisor on foreign affairs. Google him. And see whats in store for the US when the NeoCons steal the election. Not that it could happen! PNAC Hard at work! Oh, forgot Paul Wolfowitz. He came up with the Defense Planning Guidance. The VP's little plan that was presented 12 months prior to 9/11. Don't forget to red the part about needing a "Pear Harbor" like event to get things moving. And everything n hat plan has happened. Go follow the paper trail yourself. They did it all in front of our eyes! http://pnac.info/index.php/2003/1992-defense-planning-guidance-draft-excerpts/ So the next time some "Wacko" screams that US is an empire trying to dominate the world strickly for it's own gain, without regard of the worlds opinion or needing allies in any way. Trying to destroy states that do not support US policy and to secure the worlds reserves of oil. Maybe he not a "whacko"... just more informed! Where the HELL HAVE I BEEN? Carpe Diem
  2. Interesting you deleted this. Could not be verified, other then the New Republic Check out the homeowrk of the students of SOA in GA. Though not as brutal, a very systematic and sophisticated approach of physical "torture". It's every where Carpe Diem
  3. Isaak Newton called it at 2060. http://www.isaac-newton.org/ ...whatever thats worth Carpe Diem
  4. Yes. Why? My point shows that our president has made a "commitment that we will provide excellent health care--excellent care--to anybody who is injured on the battlefield". But his projected budget for hospital and medical care for veterans in 2008 says different - showing a 9% increase vs the projected 26 % increase of wounded soldiers returning from his war that same year. I guess he feels that his "commitment" will still be effectivly met? Hognuts! Did you realize he will be president in 2008? Carpe Diem
  5. He's a shame! Bush! In touch - NOT! http://www.military.com/NewsContent/0,13319,125064,00.html "The budget for hospital and medical care for veterans is funded for the current year at $35.6 billion, and would rise to $39.6 billion in 2008 under Bush's budget. That's about 9 percent. But the budget faces a cut to $38.8 billion in 2009 and would hover around that level through 2012. The cuts come even as the number of veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars is expected to increase 26 percent next year." Bastard! Carpe Diem
  6. Sources? Kind of important in digesting apparent news , not included in the "mass media" Curious on why you did not offer that up when this was posted. Carpe Diem
  7. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/article2163428.ece Interesting - Professor Stephen Hawking's opinion on climate changes - "As citizens of the world, we have a duty to share that knowledge. We have a duty, as well, to alert the public to the unnecessary risks that we live with every day, and to the perils we foresee if governments and societies do not take action now to render nuclear weapons obsolete and to prevent further climate change" Carpe Diem
  8. Dude - This thread is about the charges against Marines for murder. NOT MUSLIMS KILLING MUSLIMS. Can you not at least recognize and condemn the actions of US Marines in this case? When this first came up a while back, I remember your position being "lets wait and see if they are charged and convicted before you liberals start hanging them" First off, I'm not a "liberal". At least not in the current political definition. But you have to at least now see that obstructing justice, false official statements and dereliction is the smoke that leads to the fire - murder charges amounting to 16 in one case. I know, you will take the stance of - "wait till they're convicted before hanging them" or "I don't hear you crying about the dead americans" Face it - your head is in the sand - it's a shame Carpe Diem
  9. What does "win" mean? Win = find WMD's - WIN there were none GET OUT Win = get Saddam - WIN - he gone. GET OUT Win = elections, train police WIN GET OUT So, all the reasons for this mess have been accomplished by my notes. What does "win" mean? Lets get that straight and I'll join in. Carpe Diem
  10. Wow! Not thats evidence invading Iraq was justified when grouped with the nationalistic chant of "9/11 - 9/11 - 9/11" I think that was the second of many reasons the Bush Administration gave for the invasion. After the first one. Going on the UN's behalf, even after they said "DON'T"! But before the third one "We are liberators" That report, has finally convinced me That link was solid Carpe Diem
  11. More important things to spend energy on then if Gays can get "married" Call it a Union, give them equality and be done with it. IMHO, they cannot be "married". But they should enjoy the same privileges that hetro couple enjoy. Call it a union and be done with it. Move on to much more important issues that need to be addressed ....Let's not forget that homosexuals are a very very small percentage of our population in the states. Having said that, let's concentrate on issues that effect the whole population. These are important times. Carpe Diem
  12. In the US, it seems we are winning. Not won, but winning. After Sept 11th 2001, the U.S. woke up in many ways. It would be impossible for the U.S. to control the outcome in every nation that embraces Islamic extremists. So did you mean winning at home or abroad? Carpe Diem
  13. Big man to admit error..... remember, McCain wants more troops.... And McCain is wrong imho! Let the full blown cival war start now in Iraq. The quicker it starts the quicker it is resolved. Why have our military sit in the middle of it. We are policing the place. Training Iraqi's, who the majority are in it for the pay. It can only get more fucked up at this point! It's called cut the losses now. Or it can be looked at that we already won. what the f ever! It's over and it will not get better. What a mess! Carpe Diem
  14. Lies, oil, manipulation and disregard for our military! I cringe now, when I think that I voted twice for Bush. A lesson learned! Biggest fubar situation in my days! Just think, we first act to uphold UN regs, UN says do not go, we do anyway - all the feed slopped to the sheep...which I was one. Terrorists in Iraq? - There are now! What a colossal mess! (shaking head) And to think there are still sheep grazing on the same BS being fed from this administration. What good? Saddam is gone? Wow! Tell that to the victims, in Haditha. This was worth it Carpe Diem
  15. U.S. to publish probe of Iraq civilian deaths http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20060531/haditha_probe_060531/20060531?hub=World off Google news - it should be interesting to say the least Carpe Diem
  16. This is horrible - face it. The facts that have come out should provide enough evidence for you at this point. There was a cover up. That's a fact. The Marines of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines have rotated back home, to California. Last month, the Marine Corps relieved Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani of command of the 3rd Battalion. Two of his company commanders were relieved of their commands, as well. I'll guess your response will be the only reason was because there is an investigation? How so? The fact that the Marine commandant is dedicating his recent unscheduled trip to Iraq to renforce the need to refrain from war crimes underscores the severity of what happened Nov. 19 in Haditha. Face it! It happened the way it is now being told. To satisfy politicians and or Iraqis? How about code of conduct? Are you serious?? There is an investigation and it doesnt look good! Does it! An 8-year-old boy, five young girls and a 1-year-old girl???? What the hell are you saying again????? It's apparent by every account; Iraqi witnesses, hospital workers, Navy investagtors and others, that this happened the way it was portrayed. No, not the cover up part. The Marines paid compensation put variously by townspeople at $1,500 or $2,500 for each of the 15 men, women and children killed in the first two houses....lies I guess? All lies to you by your comments. Wow! Carpe Diem

  18. So, it always gets to if there is a God or not. Do the non believers out there (me included) believe that there was a Jesus? I do. And that the teachings of Jesus (ingrained in the American culture, whether you like it or not) are positive? Do you think it is possible that Christians, through studying the teachings of Jesus Christ, might develop a larger capacity to love others. I mean, I see it every day. Look at the world wide charitable organizations that are Christian based. Go to your local church, regardless of denomination, and ask if they are engaged in charitable programs. You know the answer. Yes. Then ask how involved they are. I think you would be surprised at the amount of energy, funding and organization that is in place to give to others. I guess what I'm again saying is that you do not have to "believe" that "God" is responsible for everything. But believing that Jesus Christ spread the word of love and everything that comes with it isn't a bad philosophy to follow. These are the values that built America. Like it or not. Having faith is one thing. Living by Christian teachings is another. It does no good to "wish" the best for a person in a horrible situation. The good comes when you feed and cloth them. Acting on the "word" That's what it's all about to me. It's all good. Carpe Diem
  19. Here is an interesting perspective. I believed in GOD/SON/HOLY SPIRIT my whole life. Then I went agnostic, then didn't care at all. Now, I have two sons going to a Christian school. We have one of the very best public school systems in the country...yet we still pay to send them to private Christian school. Why? Because they teach kindness and charity. I do not believe the bible to be fact in that there was walking on water, water turned to wine etc. But the big issue of my non belief is the risen from the dead and holy spirit part, again, I do not believe. Which really means I cannot consider myself a "Christian" under they're definition. But I do! Crazy isn't it? I really see a difference in people at this school. More polite, more caring, more patience and much more giving then what I've seen in our public school system in this affluent area. A hodge podge of takers and whiners. A huge group of "me me me'ers" I send my children to a Christian school because they are taught to not judge, not lash out, not direct anger at others. They are taught to give to charity, donate their time to help others, the concept of giving and sharing. These are basic Christian principles. And are taught as the basics at this school. And re-enforced in our home. Yes, it does creep me out when I hear him recite a psalm and end it with ...."Matthew 14" or whatever. But I can tell you this. I have Christian principles and guess what? So do most of us here in the states, whether we "believe" in God or not. So it is the word of Christ that has lasted this long. It is the lessons and parables that are shared in the bible that teaches our youth that it really IS better to give then receive etc. I've seen it with my open eyes. So, do you really have to "believe" in God to live by and teach what Jesus shared? No. Do you have to believe in the Holy Spirit to be a Christian? I guess it all depends on who you ask....I say no.....some would say that I actually see Jesus as a prophet...meaning I am a Jew.....Whatever. I know that most Christians will go out of their way to help or assist. Most are worried for others before themselves. Call me what you want - I respect the Christian philosophy and pass it to my sons......whether I "believe" in God .....or not It's all good to me. Carpe Diem
  20. Exept for the ones you presented were on a firing range, seemed non political and involved a bunch of hunting rifles vs military weapons. ...I did dig the Hamas Mommy and her son with RPG.....you're right....same thing Carpe Diem

  23. added a correction. I guess if you feel you HAVE to "spank" and you have no other choices with that child - go for it - I could take the best spanking anyone could give at 5. Border line child abuse. But don't touch my teddy bear and take it from me, then you will really get my attention! Get the point? Well not all of us. Some can actually see both sides and decide. Not sure how to address that bovine feces. I guess since you opened that can I just have to respond. Personally, I feel the stronger parent and person for that matter, can find an alternative to spanking that creates a much more effective long lasting result. But again, just reacting to my personal expierience with 4 boys. Again, I feel that reasoning, combined with restricting an event, toy etc with a toddler creates a better understanding of situations, as they grow older. Certainly not in the camp that spanking is detrimental - just feel it is not needed - I found alternatives that provided the same if not better results. Carpe Diem
  24. Got 4 sons. Never hit one of them. All great little Dudes! We found that restriction from the toy of the moment (T-rex, playstation, bike etc) did just fine. Mixed with a bit of reason instead of anger lashed out in a lack of patients produced 4 well adjusted well behaved young men, so far Not saying that smaking a kid around could not produce the same results, just wasnt our bag. I guess we equaled it to a respect thing Carpe Diem
  25. You too. Although celebrating the shortest day of the year is a bit uneventful for my family, we prefer Christmas - the general celebration of an extremely influential mans birth. But, Happy Holidays (which ever) to all! It's all good to me Carpe Diem
