  1. NO! You must fully explain the last item on your list. Details, video, etc.. J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  2. First the problem must be defined, therefore one must ask what is stress? Can you define stress? Definition of Stress: The confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's desire to beat or choke the living shit out of some asshole who desperately needs it. Arch? 3. Yea, that's my memory as well. One of my friends daughters was in Childrens Hospital at the same time (another long story, leukemia) and I remember the TV vans out front, and I may have seen one of the kids with the bug, but that kid lived. Can't remember for sure, such a long time ago. Funny, I haven't eaten at Jack's since then. I know, they are probably perfectly safe...but. J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.

    Dinner

NI wasn't doing so hot but that's mostly because I was tired most evenings from playing in the sky all day and that was only my second time juggling them in the dark (its hard...) Pretty impressive...sounds like you have had better times juggling, but to me that video is impressive. I have tried a few times, just started laughing at myself. Juggling and jogging, yikes!!! 5. Most of the men in my office are guilty of using the womens room when the men's is occupied for a while. The women have added a sign, something about if you raise the seat, please lower it. Now if we could just prohibit the reading material in the mens room... J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  6. Damn... you is old Wanna come to the East Bay for drinks tonight? If you think that's old then I must fall under the category of ancient... I was thinking the same thing...thanks McBeth!!!! Maybe the youngsters just don't know they will be antiques someday! J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  7. QuoteQuote The other day I was walking down the street. It was 8:00 a.m., the sun was shining, and had the promise of being a great day. Then I slipped on a dog turd. That reminded me of waltappel's dz.com championship turd-off thread. And once again, I was running for the bathroom, kneeling before the porcelan king, hurling my guts out. ________________ Walt, I have learned to think about looking at pictures you post, before actually clicking on the the link. 8. Congratulations on leaving whuffo status behind. I don't know why Sebazz is telling you about the possible departure of your shoes, he shouldn't let that little bit of information out. At least as a non-whuffo you now know why there are so many half pair of shoes by the side of the road. The one bit of info you really should know is if your ears are a bit tight after landing, you may need to hold onto your ankles and jump up and down a few times. Usually doesn't take more than 7 or 11 jumps, but just beware of the ear problem. Have fun jumping, and remember, you are going to fall after you leave the plane. J Arch? 9. Ahhh Lisa...people who are not affected by caffeine might do well to take an AD/HD test. People who can fall asleep with stimulants in there body, are usually members of an elite group of people whose focusing ability is improved by Rx stimulants. http://amenclinic.com/ac/tests/ Have fun, and I bet I would be safe in welcoming you to the "I can take stimulants, and fall asleep club, also know as I have been diagnosed with AD/HD club." Jeff Usual disclaimers apply, I am not a Dr., trained (or untrained) mental therapist of any sort, law rocketeer, certified in anything besides screwing up PC's and networks, and always consult a trained, certified, degreed, person before considering any thoughts espoused herein. 11. Time for a continuance. "Your Honor, we are sorry to ask for this continuance, but Mr./Ms. said they were going to dismiss, and we need time to prepare." And you belive the state attorney because???????? I thought this was the lying POS that told you various lies previosly? Why belive the lying POS now? Arch? 12. I can't vote, since there isn't a choice for red hair and I really don't care about eye color. Red hair, is there anything better? J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  13. What, you figured out that I put the trunk key in the the magnetic key holder, and just try to find the door key in a magnetic key holder hiding in my trunk. OK, that was my previous car. Now, well it's a work vehicle, and if I lock myself out (and my second key on a different keyring is in the car), then they have to fix the problem. I don't know what I would do if I was trying to hid my current vehicle's single key. Can some thief really find my hide a key, stuck up in the engine compartment, hidden on the side of something you can't see? It's not fun crawling under the the thing, on my back. It would be even more fun if a cop would stop and ask a few questions, but the chances of that are slim... Jeff Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.

  16. Not fair, no stealing my story. Where did I meet you, and tell you my story? And just FYI, I am a student, not an instructor, and anything I saw should be checked with a real life instructor. Maybe the dropzone you jumped is a bit embarrased and that's why they are trying to suggest you give up skydiving. My understanding is you should have completed three practice ripcord pulls in a row, before you were allowed to clear and pull. If you had completed three PRP's, I suspect you would have been far more comfortable with what you were supposed to do, and would have had a much better chance of pulling properly. Are you jumping a rig with a handle at the bottom of the rig, or a pilot chute you have to throw? I learned with a handle at the bottom of the rig, and I would be curious how you do practice rip cord pulls with a throw out pilot chute. I can't see how the PRP's muscle memory would transfer to a throw out pilot chute. Sure doesn't seem like the best way. I can imagine it looking scary, doesn't mean it actually was. You might post it on skydivingmovies.com, and ask for opinions. Maybe if the instructor had you do three PRP's, you would have pulled the first time. OK, here's my take, as a lowly student. 1. Your instructor sucks. One PRP, one missed PRP and then you do a clear and pull? Yea right. You just missed a PRP, that doesn't make any sense to me to clear and pull. 2. Find a different instructor, or maybe a different dropzone. You could try AFF, but it's more money, many people think it's easier, some people think it's not as good as static line. 3. I am one of "Those" students, much worse than NWFlyer, and even worse than Wendy Faulkner. As long as you are enjoying skydiving, have the bucks to continue, and are not a risk to others, then I don't see why you shouldn't keep going. 4. Did you read the link NWFlyer posted? You found the handle, NWFlyer...umm, she had a couple of reserve rides because she tried twice, and couldn't find the handle, she did everything right when she couldn't find the handle. 5. I think you might want to read Wendy's student log... http://crwdog.servebeer.com/CRWdog/HowCRW.html Remember, I am just a poor student, really a horrible student. My instructors are great, and more than willing to keep working with me. Find a good dropzone and instructor, and have fun. Usual disclaimers, I am a student, not an instructor, always seek a compentent instructors advice, and instruction. Blue skies, Jeff Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  17. Otter pilots do not wear a seat belt because they are ahead of the bulkhead. From what I have been told, if you are sitting behind the bulkhead, FAA says you need to wear a chute. I don't know why the FAA says you don't need to wear a chute if you are ahead of the bulkhead. I have heard a pilot say it would difficult to jump in an emergency--it's a cramped cockpit so it would be hard to move aft past the bulkhead, and you don't want to leave via the pilot's door. I'm not a pilot, and I am a low time jumper, but if I was a pilot, I would tend to wear at least a bailout rig. I am curious why the bailout rigs have round chutes. I really wouldn't want to jump one of those, much less in a emergency. Wouldn't an unconcious person have a better chance of surviving if they were wearing a big student rig? Just my thoughts, Jeff Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  18. If you are serious about teaching, I suggest earn your teaching credentials, find a school district you like, THEN start racking up the credits for the Phd. I don't think my Phd friends have any thoughts of moving, or trying to change school districts...not too many districts want to hire someone who has a Phd...the cost to the district is pretty high, and teachers with a four year are easy to hire. I seem to recall most of my friends credits were taken during the summer. I suspect you can find time to jump and earn that Phd. Jeff If not now, when? Arch? 20. Amazing Race is showing a segment with tandem jumping this Wednesday evening. I don't know if this is a rerun, new show or if it will be shown in your market. I Have watched this show a few times in the past, and have wondered if they would ever do a skydiving challenge. I guess I didn't think they would do a skydiving segment. I think it would have been interesting if they had offered a choice of AFF or tandem. Might be fun to watch this one. Jeff Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  21. I have some friends who are teachers, they have been for the last 20 plus years. And they make a nice sum of money. Oh yea, they took the time to earn there Phd equavalents (
  22. The old PC still working? Any chance it has a NIC? Easy to network them together, although if that's not your specialty, find a geek. Putting more than one hard drive in a PC is not a problem most of the time, maybe if it's a old e-machine or some other POS, and the power supply is minimal, you might have a problem. Pretty rare, however. External hard drive, either using current HD from old PC (make sure external HD doesn't require software install), new external HD if your old PC has USB, move HD, or network. Lot's of choices. If you need a geek, find one. Jeff Small Dell server at work have six hard drives. One machine used to be a desktop, I turned into a server, has only five hard drives. Arch? 24. My most memorable landing, in my very short skydiving time, is when I landed in a lake, err they called it a puddle. The video shows the water splashed up a little higher than my slider. It didn't help that I did a but slide on that landing. The laughs and comments by my favorite instructors and video guy were the icing on the cake. The DZO offered to let me change to a dry jumpsuit, but I declined, a dry jumpsuit wouldn't solve the wet wedgy. The area I landed in was the a fairly low area, and the grass was high enough to hide the depth of the water. I like swimming, but prefer to swim with a drysuit, not a jumpsuit. The next landing was also very memorable for me, it was my first stand up landing, just a few steps. It felt so good, especially after the but slide into the lake, errr puddle. 25. Got a bunch of plans for it (over the next 5 years-) to include: "Dumpsters' Semi-Extreme (sort-of) Home Makeover, Skydiver Edition" (not neccessarily in order-) Upgrade electrical to 200 amp service Update plumbing Update bath - (Floor needs work-) Update kitchen Install central air Fence New garage Motorcycle to park in the garage New front porch New Deck 4-6 person spa on the deck. I see you forgot to list all the copper you will need to pull, cat 5, speaker, coax for your TV, but most of all, pull lot's of cat 5. I do like wired rather than wireless... OK, I am a geek, and actually AC might happen before the cat 5, or maybe at the same time. Congratulations! Johnsisland Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
