  1. Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  2. Well, the Cessna 182 I jump out of has a hook knife in a channel on the left hand side of the plane, within reach of the pilot and instructors. It's not visible, and the only reason I saw it was the instructor checked it before he launched myself and another S/L student. J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  3. I wonder what the FAA would say? What about your medical card, do you need to check with anyone on this? J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  4. Not sure this is applicable, my BP was just climibing slowly, not sky high. Dr. put me on med's, and that was one year ago. Recently I decided to do my first jump, and didn't even think about asking Dr. After my first seven jumps, I had a Dr. appointment, and mentioned my skydiving. Asked him if there was any reason not to jump, since my BP was well controlled. He said it was OK to jump, since it was controlled. Your situation is different, and I am one who tends to listen to my doc. I would wait until you are stablized...passing out under canopy would be bad. Just my NERHO. J Arch? 5. "I heard a snap and I started spinning and I didn't know why. I didn't know what to do to fix it. I didn't know how to make it stop," Richardson told Fort Smith, Ark., television station KFSM. My biggest issue with the Shayna situation lies in the quote above. Shayna didn't know what the problem was, or how to cure it. It would seem that Rick didn't teach Shayna what she needed to know, in order to jump safely. And I haven't seen Rick standing up and taking responsibility for his actions, or lack thereof. Second issue, Shayna's message to the media. I don't appreciate the incorrect information Shayna is spreading like cow dung on a pasture. While Shayna is not responsible for my relatives being nervous nelly's, I would rather not have the cow dung being spread, causing worried phone calls requiring long explanations from me. Even if I didn't have nervous nellies, I still would be offended by the misinformation being spread by Shayna. Lack of insurance...gee, and a lack of a job as well. Wonder who is going to pay for the babies delivery, and future care? If you are going to have sex (or skydive), then you should be prepared for the consequences. Take responsibilty for your actions. Just my NERHO, Jeff Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  6. Exactly why I choose S/L. I am, err was, know as someone scared of heights. I didn't know if it would require someone pushing me out the door on my first jump (although when asked about this, they said they had a cattle prod, grin!) I had video of the first jump, just in case I made the first jump, and chickened out after that. And yes, I thought I would only do a few, but I think I will at least get my A, and some pictures of Mt. Raineer behind me, from 13k. I also jumped because my Dad wound up in a body cast after about 12 jumps, back in WW2, and my Uncle tried to better my Dad, and broke his leg. So, I wanted to jump like they did, without anyone else attached or holding me. I can say I broke the family chain, but I did have a good chute, compared to Dad and Uncle's round POS. J Arch? 7. You might enjoy clicking on "The Race". http://www.forbetterlife.org/main.asp?section=tvspots&language=eng Hope has a few seconds of skydiving in it. Just a few... J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  8. I hope you dance, Womack, Angels among us, Alabama, Spirit of a boy, wisdom of a man, Travis, Don't stop, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles Wings, various, I'll Give You Peace, Patty, For The Sake Of The Call, Chapman, Amazing Grace, bagpipes or not, most any version. Not necessarily in that order. Surprise, I have frequently declared I am NOT a country fan, and yet the first three are country. Probably because they were part of a ForABetterLife.org TV spot. As much as I don't appreciate the particular religion of the owner of FBL, and how I view the spots as sexist, I do like the basic message they promote. YMMV Arch?
