  1. Yep. I know that if your boss wants to can your ass, and you try some of these ideas, the boss can see what you are doing much easier than you would guess. What type of remote support software does your company use? I can look at work PC's without the user knowing I am watching them. There are sooooooo many programs to do that with. And the VPN tunnel...well it has to point to your somewhere, right? Do you think it would be very hard to figure out where that VPN tunnel is connecting to? Search the web for "packet sniffing", and see what you think about that. I was searching for network problems, and I found one of my guys working the late shift chatting for a few hours. He was supposed to be training a new guy, and getting his rear back on days and a bit more productive work. If you don't care about the job, just surf from the non-restricted PC. If you want to hide your sneaking around the rules, try a proxy server, set up a VPN tunnel (although I wouldn't have guessed you have a VPN server at your home, most people don't), or one of the other suggestions above. I think the simple solution is to surf without any sneaky stuff, wait for someone to figure out what you are doing, and then you can find a new job where you can surf without any restrictions. But do google "packet sniffing." I think you might find it enlighting. Just my uncensored two cents worth of crap for you. J It wouldn't bother you if your sneaking around the restrictions caused a few problems on your companies network, right? Nothing like a notwork to make your coworkers day. Maybe your home network uses the same IP range as your work address.
  2. You've been a member...your number is #274951 Ohhhh, ohhh what's my number? Is it low since I have divorced for 22 years? Do you count all the divorced years, or only the years as a divorced skydiver (no, no, no, no, no, no...only been a student flailer for a year)? Please, please, please, low number. Have to be some benefit for being divorced for sooooooooo long... J
  3. Well, two different issues. First, you are being told you can't do it with contacts. If the instructor is saying this, and not just trying to sell you an expensive mask, you may have an instructor who doesn't have a clue. And in that case, it might be time to find a new instructor. Second issue, do you need a mask with lenses? I say nope...you do need spare lenses on the chance you loose one, but then again, you probably already have spares, or at least glasses. You probably also need to be comfortable with the idea of being contact less underwater. At least have thought through what would happen if you lost one or both contacts underwater. You didn't mention what you are able to see without correction, but even if you had a mask with lenses, you could loose the mask underwater. Loosing the mask is far worse than loosing contacts, IMNERHO. Then you have uncorrected vision and some would say it's tough being without a mask underwater. It shouldn't be a surprise that diving underwater is similar to diving out of a plane...you need those EP's. Neither flying through the air or water is a situation which humans are designed to operate in. But again, I wouldn't dive with a prescription mask. Contacts are best for me. You ever seen someone with a prescription mask after they take out there contact's? Pretty funny, they are walking around with the mask on there face after the contacts are out, before they jump in the water. Just my 2 cents, J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  4. Pictures...didn't happen if there aren't pictures. ......wow, 11 foot Snuffy.......client have something for Sesame street?......how about Big Bird? J
  5. Ben, I think it would be much safer and easier if you switched the dive/jump to jump/dive. Sometimes people are bent when the dive profile was conservative, sometimes you may never know why. Do you know if you have Patent Foramen Oval? A percentage of people have PFO, and have increased risk of being bent on a conservative dive profile. I am risk averse, and seek to minimize risks. Perhaps the dive/jump situation is within your comfort zone for risk. Does your insurance cover a helicopter ride? Chamber dive? Rehab? Are there any restrictions on coverage? Again, is it possible to jump/dive? J
  6. Walt, I didn't believe you, I didn't think you could find something that would cause me to puke everything up. I am impressed, and cleaning up the the floor (where I didn't quite make it to the toilet), was not fun. I should have taken pictures of that. J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  7. I bet there is at least one from the list above who isn't nekid. First name begining with K... J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  8. Imagine a universal remote programmed to the most obnoxious professor’s VCR. Now imagine the look on his face as the tape starts rewinding for a few seconds, stopping, starting, etc.. It really would have been a good joke if a satellite dish had been hooked up, the receiver hidden, cable stapled to the base board, etc.. Hmmm, guess all you would have had to do was make a copy of the videotape the prof was going to play, insert some interesting scenes in the tape, and switch tape. That would have been fun. Arch? 10. The climb to altitude takes a while but the view is fantastic!!! Especially in Washington. There, fixed it for you. OK, maybe I should have added Washington, instead of deleting Oregon. Jeff Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  11. Bonfire a little too quiet? Didn't want to post another picture of a turd? J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  12. See Dick. Dick says happy birthday. See Jane. Jane says happy birthday. See Spot. Spot says Woof, happppppyyyy berthdayyyyyyy....woof, woof, woof. Somebody put beer in Spot's water dish. J (This might not make sense if you didn't learn to read with Dick, Jane and Spot.) J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  13. WOW!!! If you had been involved in GROSSLY overloading an 182, I bet that would have been quite a feat to fly the plane. Did you pile four people in the area next to the pilot? J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  14. So, if I arrange for ten seat belts, will you fly in that configuration? J
  15. I saw a post about fears, claustrophobia and and Cessna 182's. Just curious what everybody has seen loaded in a 182. I "overhead" a discussion between to skydivers, one of whom said they had five people plus the pilot, the other said four plus pilot on said load. The instructor was kneeling aft of the person sitting next to the pilot, leaning forward on takeoff. J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  16. Easy no brainer for this fish...YES!!!! Check the additional cost's carefully...mask, snorkle, fins, and any equipment rental. You might be able to find used mask fins snorkle, but they need to fit. You may want to consider your time as well. First aid from a totaltarian, dictaorial, opressive regiem, err higher ed, is hours per week, compared to 6-8 hours for card outside higher ed. I don't have a clue what the hours required for scuba would be. But I suspect you will learn lot's more than the usual dive class. Scuba, hmmmm good!!! J Arch? 17. Sooo, Conor picked up the ADHHHHHHD gene and Lauren... wasn't blessed with the ADHHHHHHD gene... Or perhaps she is the "typical" ADD girl, just zoning out??? Kidding aside, congratulations! J
  18. Walt, If Kathleen doesn't have pants matching yours, it's not a good picture J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  19. All musicals...and I haven't seen Fiddler On The Roof mentioned, am I the only one who likes it? Is Opera really a musical? I really have a hard time understanding/hearing the words in Opera, and find it annoying. J
  20. Unplug PC Ahhh, after opening PC, stop shuffling feet, rear end on chair, etc, touch bare metal on PC case. Failure to follow this simple step may ensure you will treat yourself to a new PC.
  21. Uhhh, I didn't like the words so I changed it. ...the cradle will fall, and Daddy will catch Kimme, cradle and all. If you are still stuck, one bedtime drink with lot's of milk, real vanilla extract and sugar or honey can do wonders in helping sleep overtake you. Arch? 22. Congratulations on your anniversary! I can't understand why you started working when you were ten years old, must have been a rough childhood!!!!! I have been with my present company for six years and twenty eight days, although it's interesting how some coworkers forget how long I have been hiding in my office, err working here. Would I want to be employed with this company for another twenty five years? Nope, I should be retired in less than twenty years. Do I want to be here until I retire? Only if the resume's I am sending out are turned down for the next twenty five years. If they are, then yes, I would want to remain employed by my present company. While I would hopefully not go postal, I suspect if my resume's are round filed for the next two years, I would do a "Wendy" (AKA adios and become a DZB. I suspect I am not as well paid as you, Ms. Jennr8r! J
  23. Crystal Mt. allows the DZO's (and a few others, I think) to ground launch. I suspect the abilities of the people allowed to ground launch were a significant factor in Crystal allowing the activity. There is a nice movie (on skdyvingmovies.com) about a competition sponsered by Red Bull showing some ground launching, and includes some of the people allowed to ground launch at Crystal. J Arch? 24. Sergant Schultz is my friend... "I know Nothing, NOTHING!" It's much easier that way. Although I have to create a new job when people ask what I do. J Arch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
  25. I don't recall seeing clouds around the DZ, however I have seen some industrial haze. J Anybody remember the Pics of Pres. Bush (the first one) in clouds.
