Am I the only one getting excited for the upcoming NFL season?
grimmie replied to regulator's topic in The Bonfire
Steelers! And since I live in SD and my wife is a big Chargers fan, we are going opening day to see the Vikings get whipped up on! -
Forget the NFL, who's excited about College Football?

Sadly, I am a Buckeyes fan. Tressel let me down... -
It's a sad day for hockey...

If you're to lazy to find my number, then I'm too lazy to type rebuttals to your nonsense. And I'm so scared to speak up here I hide my identity. And yup, I know lots about what happened that day. I was just at Ground Zero last week paying my respcts as a matter of fact. Call me and we'll go party line and get a few FDNY pals of mine on the phone that were there that day and survived.

In Belize we had a tight LZ. We had an 'Entry Gate" to fly over between 500 and 300 feet and make a right hand turn to final. I asked jumpers to let the natural speed of the canopies sort themselves out before entering the pattern. The vertical seperation helped a lot for traffic. It took some air traffic control from the ground, and some enforcement, but nearly every load complied after a while and it worked pretty well.

Call me. I'll explain the types of building collapses. Explain to you how steel expands and then contracts when it is cooled by fire hoses. I'll explain to you how girders being sheared at impact weakened the towers. I'll explain to you what that fire chief was thinking. And I'll fill you in on the buildings that have fallen on me and how it happened, easily I might add. signed, 31 years riding fire trucks.

The FDNY had complained to America's Mayor for years that their radios were substandard. They always had a difficult time using them on high rise calls. The FDNY ordered evacuation of all companies from the towers. Some heard, others didn't. Chief Ray Downey was killed that day. He had pleaded with Guliani not to put the command center next to the towers. The entire days incident command system had to be run out of the back of a Chevy Suburban. He asked Guliani over and over for better radios. When the bombing in '92 happened, they couldn't talk to each other by radio. He knew the terrorists wanted the towers down. Ray was on the national anti terror comittee and spoke often of protecting the towers. Building 7 collapsed on it's own accord.

Feds warn of small airplane terror threats
grimmie replied to wayneflorida's topic in Speakers Corner
Security in the USA is still a joke. In Hawaii you can board a Cessna Caravan to island hop and not be searched or even go through any type of security. I wrote an e-mail to TSA. The sent a reply stating..."If you need more informatyion, go to our website". Idiots. And as far as terror attacks. Most Federal and State buildings aren't protected from truck bombs driving right up to the front doors. Drive down any interstate and check out a truck stop. Tons of dangerous material (Gasoline being #1) just parked. A terrorist could steal a semi full of fuel and drive it right into a shopping center during the holidays. All of these "Terror Warnings" are just to keep the public aware. When I was on the FD, we went to so many terrorism classes. If the bad guys want to create havoc, it can be done easily. At least an airliner won't ever be used again. The pilots are trained and the passengers won't go down without a fight. -
In search of naked rocks? Have a great adventure. Just because your not jumping for a bit, keep us posted on your travels.

Good points. After all. . . Why do christians have any fear at all? they should be brave to the point of suicidal indifference to consequences. They are supposively going to a better place. Because everyone wants to meet Jesus, they just don't want to die to get there.

It's a good thing we're fighting the religious nutters "over there" so they don't get us here at home.

In my circle we would refer to this guy as a pacifist. Pacifists don't have reunions. If they did, what would they talk about? Aren't all christians pacifists???

Republicans Propose New tax on Everyone but the wealthy.

Yup, that's about all you've got left in regards to any argument. When I see Cheney on TV blabbing all of his BS it makes my skin crawl. He's a war profiteer that has made a living fleecing America. Not unlike many other politicians. In my opinion he's one of the biggest traitors to ever grace Washington, ever. And as far as arguments. I have a lot left, but don't find it's necessary to debate. You have your views, I have mine. Besides, I throw something your way, you throw it back, and everyone else waltzes in and battles. Back to the regularly scheduled usual changing of minds efforts... -

Dick Cheney is such a great American! What a patriot. -
I spoke with Joe Pete today. Late Jake is now 87 and still kicking around Steamboat. He's getting pretty blind. He still works a bit and wheels and deals in real estate a bit. Joe Pete just saw him yesterday. He doesn't jump anymore.

My uncle started "Ontario Music" in 1957 in Ontario, California. His store grew nicely over the years and he went from selling instruments to pianos and amps and lighting for bands. My Uncle Jim was a Morman and one of the most straight laced men you would ever meet. He wore pressed white dress shirts and a tie every day at his store. One of his favorite customers was Frank Zappa. Go figure! Zappa lived down the street and came in all of the time in the 60's. One day he rented a piano and rolled it down the street to his garage with his band members. Uncle Jim always got a kick out of Zappa and he always paid his bills, so that made my uncle a happy guy too. My uncle passed away about 5 years ago and the store is now owned by another family. He had great photos (my cousin has them all now) of famous muscians that came into the store over the years. I'm going to call her and see if she can find the one with Zappa in it.

I must have missed where the Reps got all those defunding bills through the Dem majority House and Senate between 2007 and 2010 - got any examples? Let me rephrase that. The Republicans are fleecing the American people. When one of the worst presidents in modern history is your party's icon, something's just not right. Ronald Reagan. hahaha! Like I said in another thread. The Republicans are the party of really bad ideas. The Democrats are the party of really no ideas. -

Republicans wanted to take SS to Wall Street in 2007. Making their pals even wealthier while leaving the retirees to hold the goo end of the stick. -

So they can pass the cost on to the consumer? Great idea. as in proposing new taxes on everyone but the wealthy you mean? great concept! Why do the Dems hate the old so much that they want to defund Social Security even more? Why won't the Republicans admit a few things. You can't have two wars and balance the budget. It's time to end the Bush tax cuts and oil subsidies. The Republicans are defunding America. There also seems to be a lot of nothing coming from Republicans mouths on this payroll tax issue. Maybe when Grover tells them how to vote there will be a statement or two. -

So, for the record... You're cool with KBR loopholing around paying about a half a billion in payroll taxes, to pad their profits and bilk the taxpayers? And you're cool with keeping the Bush tax cuts in place? You're cool with the secret backdoor oil deal Haliburton and KBR got for Iraq? And you think the minimal cut for payroll taxes should be stopped? -
Dang! Even Doc won! Great job, wish I could have been there. I really need a new BBQ! Next year.
