He wants everyone in a pension plan currently to go to a "Defined Contribution Plan". So instead of paying for years into a pension fund and recieving a monthly pension, he would like you to put you retirement money into a 401k. He flew out to California on his own dime and stood with our fearless leader "Ahnold" in 2005. He was all for taking my pension, my medical benefits and other benefits away from thousands of employees. Nice move for a guy that has a Navy and soon to be Congressional pension. You give up your gravy train first there John, if it's breaking the bank. Why was he all for breaking up my retirement fund? Because the state wants to raid it to balance the budget. It happened once before under Pete Wilson. Spend a summer working at a DZ. Get some CSPA ratings. Pack. Clean toilets, empty the trash. Teach the first jump course. Make some jumps, have some fun. Then do it again all of next summer and the next. If you still love it and want to start a DZ, go for it. But I think most of Canada is pretty well covered for jumping.

I get confused sometimes too with the US Constitution, Ten Commandments and the Declaration of Independence. It's hard to keep straight which one God gave us.

Back in the day of leg mounted pilot chutes it was not uncommon to catch a jumper sitting on the plane with a twisted leg strap, making a main deployment impossible. Or twisted so the pilot chute was against the leg. I always check before exit, in this order... Leg straps Chest strap Cutaway handle Reserve handle 3 rings get a pin check Pilot chute Usually 2 or 3 times, 4 if I'm jumping with Canuckians!

When I was a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's, a lot of folks molded my young pea brain. My grandpa didn't like colored people or 'Japs'. In our small world, someone from the Middle East was scary, all Vietnamese people were killers and Richard Nixon was the greatest thing since electricity. Homosexuals had serious problems and were going to hell and those Kent State kids shouldn't have been protesting if they didn't want shot. And you don't need college, just go down to the steel mill and get a job for life. Humans have this rare ability to think for themselves. Some use this ability wisely, others never. So as the people I respected most when I was young molded my views, as I grew and viewed the world with my own eyes I learned to see different sides of issues. I think Obama has a unique view on so many issues. He may turn out to be a horrible President, but I'm willing to take that chance as I see McCain as being in way over his head and choosing Palin sealed the deal for me.

McCain would love to put everyone currently in a private or state pension plan onto the Social Security dole. His past motives make little sense, except to use the pension money for government spending. Here is a guy getting a military pension and soon a congressional pension, but he wants to screw all of the other workers out of theirs. He aligned himself with Arnold here (CA) in 2005 on the pension issue.

John McCain has the same foreign policy advisors as Bush. Those "influences" scare me more...
