  1. The 2001 World Meet was held there at the Armilla helicopter base in conjunction with the World Air Games. I don't think there is a close DZ. But it's a great city!
  2. Sober up and crawl outta the cactus patch...
  3. Now you are "speaking in tongues" to most here. Everyone that knows what Part 91 is raise your hand(before googling it!). This has been discussed here in the past. As in all types of business entities, there are some great maintenance programs and some shoddy ones at DZ's around the globe. I always encourage jumpers to discuss their own DZ aircraft maintenance with the DZO and other staff. If it doesn't seem to be good, go to another DZ that is. The problem is, most jumpers don't even know what color their reserve canopy is, and you want them to debate maintenance schedules? What DZ ran that otter into the ground? I'll make sure I don't leap there anytime soon.
  4. Hmmm, You're the expert. What's your opinion on jumpship maintenance? And why are you asking for opinions here, where most people that post don't know a turbine from a radial?
  5. Remember one thing, it is Arizona! "They run stuff difrunt out thar!"
  6. They could find ways to make his life miserable.
  7. Many a Pinal County deputy sheriff has pulled over skydivers going from the Tumbleweed Inn back to the DZ. Some were pulled over heading from the Bent Prop back to their hotel. They were the coolest bunch of cops, along with the Eloy PD you could ask for. Many skydivers were let off the hook for speeding or having a few beers on board back in the day. The Eloy cops said they could fund the city budget by just stopping cars coming out of the DZ at night but never did it. Unfortunately the good sheriff will be taken to task over this statement to the press by the county Board of Supervisors. signed, former owner of the Bent Prop Bar and Grill. Skydive AZ.
  8. I met Charlie Crist, the current Florida Governor at Miami Intl. Airport a few years back. He was the FL AG at the time. He told me he was looking forward to running for Gov and that Jeb really wanted to run for President...bad. If another Bush gets in the White House, I will already be living in Belize, so good luck!
  9. The Gov is a slime ball no doubt. We just have more pressing issues at the moment to be worried about, IMHO.
  10. And I sit at the firehouse, awaiting a similar drunk to cream a tree, for that same day off in February! At least it's a bit warmer here in SoCal!!! I will have your rum waiting in your luxurious room! See you in freefall over the Blue Hole! Happy New Year!! There are still slots availble for the last minute crowd!
  11. I flew a Jet Ranger into a flock of seagulls, broke out the windscreen and nearly soiled myself. Stupid flying rats... I had blood and guts all over the skids.
  12. The only thing embarassing for the Democrats right now is all of the GWB administration dog poo they have to scrape off of the national shoe.
  13. OK all of you hockey fans. On January 17, 2009 at 3PM the Ontario, California Fire Dept. is taking on the FDNY hockey team at the new Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario. A $10 ticket gets you into the firefighter's game and the Ontario Reign vs. the Utah Grizzlies ECHL game that follows. There will be 50/50 raffles, jersey giveaways and some fun between period antics. $4 of each ticket is donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. The firefighters will be playing for the "343" trophy, in honor of those brave FDNY brothers that lost their life on September 11, 2001. I'll be out there gasping for air in the Ontario FD #3 jersey! Bring me a cold one to the penalty box! pm if you want tickets, THANKS!

  16. Belize in February for 23 days!!!!
  17. Landing off at Perris or Eloy is usually an easy task. But many jumpers have injured themselves doing it. If you have to land off at a place like the Ranch, be prepared to dodge apple orchards and lots of trees. I have seen many newer jumpers panic and try to make it back to the DZ upwind, realizing much too late they have nowhere good to land as they end up way short. There is a quick thought process you should go through on every jump after you are open and clear your airspace. 1. Where am I? 2. What is the wind doing to me? 3. What is the safest landing area? 4. What are the hazards? Are there hidden hazards like barbed wire fence, cornfields, power lines, rotors over objects? 5. Where are those other guys I jumped with going? Should I follow them? 6. Is there a better location downwind to land? 7. How much time/altitude do I have to reach a safe LZ? I have seen jumpers at Skydive AZ hit buildings, fences, trees, cement barriers and do hook turn carnage off field. That's only a couple of hundred of square miles of open desert, what could possibly go wrong???
  18. Not only did AJ do Billy Bob, she has an entire orphanage following her around now! When would there be any time? Kids are the greatest "cock blockers" of all time. JA, cute & sexy, ever since her days as a member of "Armed Family" long ago. Charlize Theron kicks bothh of their asses...
  19. Too bad he didn't throw a Ford or Chevy at him...
  20. First of all don't let "ping pong ball" headed guys work on your canopy! Secondly, did you ever see how jumpers treat rental canopies? A lot like rental cars, rough! I see the young'uns at the DZ drag their parachutes through the dirt, sticker bushes and across the runway. I really enjoy watching them pack up with sticks in the cells. No surprise you blew one up. Throwing nylon into wind has never been an exact science!
