I'm young, have no children, and I feel I might be missing your point. Are you suggesting people without children are simply being too objective? Depends on your definition of objective. My point was most people here that were vehemently defending the rights of the sexual predators do not have kids. I know most of them personally and love them a lot. I believe, and I could be wrong (would not be the first time) that their position may be different if they were at a different point in life. If you read other posts of mine you would know that I am a great believer in individual liberties, to the extent of sometimes being chastised. However this is one area were my feelings are equally as strong about protecting our children. And I did not feel so greatly about that until I had my own. Thats all. Being bored while I am stuck down in Mexico and surfin' .com I realized that some f#ckwads may need a target to abuse. So I offer myself up and am willing to start the thread. Yeah I have been following this thread and I find it amusing that most of the defenders of these peoples civil liberties are young and have no children. As a father it sickens me that one of my beautiful children could fall prey to someone like this. Have any of you seen this beautiful childs father pleading on tv, or her grandparents. It brings tears to my eyes when see them. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about her fate right now. Does anyone really beleive the the most helpless segment of any society do not deserve the most protection. If your not sure who I am talking about why don't go visit one of your beatiful neices or nephews if you do not have children of your own. Look at them and your brother or sister and think about what happened to this little girl. Then search deep down in your soul and see if you can still say the same things. Let's not muddy the water here and talk about other crimes in the same sentence. I am talking about true sexual predators and child abusers. Do you really feel they deserve everything in life that the rest of us do. My political feelings say that we are all free beyound what the governments even says, but this is one area where I have very strong feelings the other way. Oh, and how about my civil liberties that allow me to express my feeling in public. If I want to picket the front of a persons house I have every right to. Just like some people picket womens centers, some people picket car dealership over lemons, some people picket the government. To compare my rights to do that to the actions of the KKK is ridiculous. I can not take certain personal physical actions against them, but I bet I would if I even thought they had intentions towards my children. Go pull your statistics up folks and present them to one of the parents of the dead children that you see on television almost every day, do you really think that it will make them fell better. I doubt it. Do these people relly deserve to befree in our society, well as long as the majority of our society says they do then they do. But I can feel differently, and yes I can try to change it. I think that if they are free to roam that they should have to wear monitoring devices for the rest of thier lives. We should be able to track thier movement and record the history. One of the first things thjat should be looked at when a child goes missing is the proximity and current location of sexual predators. I'll stop but you have my.02 worth. Dude, I travel to Mexico a lot. As a matter of fact I leave this Sunday for 2 weeks again. I would have to say "NO F#CKING WAY". This assuming there is no parental guidance, which is the way I read your post. If she is travelling with trusted adult guardians and you know they will look closely after her then that would be a different decision, personally they would have to be people that I trust to a level that could not be communicated in words. Heaven forbid that when you ask a question and present certain facts that someone may call you out. Remember that some people around here may have decades of experience and knowledge that they do want to share with you.
