Obviously I am not as old as some of the FOG's that have responded to you. But they are all correct in saying that it is what YOU make it, most of the time. It is much easier to question one's mortality when something happens to those close to you and you are younger. I think all of us have our time marked somewhere. So it is not really why you live your life, but how you live your life. The how impacts those around you and that's what counts. As far as skydiving and when should you quit, that a hard one, that only you can answer. Do you still get more out of it than it takes from you, then keep charging ahead dude. My very old friend Jerry Bird said to me when he decided to quit "I don't want my ephitat to read - Jerry Bird skydiver of 40 years, died skydiving". He knew and understood where he wanted his life to take him at that point. I'm sure you will when the time comes. Man, you sound like you need Rainbo to pack up one of his special bottles of Tequila and hop on an airplane. Problem is I can be such a trouble maker that they would probably not let me get off it. I can even pack my own heat, hey do they allow you have tequila and guns at the same time over there??? Days always get better dude, sometimes you just got to look a little further down the road. I have had so many going in dreams that I can't count them all. I never bite the big one though. I always get up and move on tho the next thing in the dream. I actually dream a lot about being able to flair my track and stand up a landing. Hopefully it never becomes so real that I actually try it... Now where is that wing suit... I'm sitting here at work and chuckling again because of my kids. Thier sense of humor at my expense overwhelms me at times. This last weekend I did something that caused a fair amount of road rash to my body. the next day as we are all sitting around joking about it and reviewing the damage one friends brings up th old adage "If your are going to be stupid, you better be tough." My 11 year old son, without missing a beat pipes in, "Wow Dad, you must really be tough." I begin to chase him so as to catch him and teach him a little lesson in respect when my 12 year old daughter shouts across the room "Remember Alex, he's powerless without his beer." So I'm back from Mexico in time for the weekend and the weather sounds pretty good too. Can this get better, possibly. While I was down at the new plant we had a big show and tell for the corporate bigwigs. The Veep that I am working this contract under stops me and says " we have a big Value Analysis workshop coming up in about a month. I need to get you on the payroll so you can attend. We also need to get a few engineers for your staff so we can get started on these new projects." Now if I can just sign my name on the dotted line and get the plastic cup things will really rock... It's obvious you never met my kids. I won't brag to you about them, because when you have had the honor of meeting them you will know why. PARENTS THAT DO NOT TEACH CHILDREN RESPECT AND HONOR ARE THE PROBLEM. And I'm guessing a little advice for you would be never to reproduce, for thier sake.
