  1. Get a uspa group membership. I strongly advise you to incorporate. Get the wavers for jumpers. File a notem. jump. There are all kinds of things to work out pertaining to leasing land/building and aircraft. jumpervali
  2. I've got: 3 Pitts ranging in fallrates. 1 Tony camera suite. 1 fast Dive-rite usually worn with 12 lb. of lead. So I can belly fly with the freeflyers 2 Tandem suites. I enjoy doing a lot of my AFF instruction jumps in jeans and tee shirt. jumpervali
  3. Congratulations! You were a pleasure to work with and you really made my job fun. Now comes the time you get to sharpen those skills and really explore what the skies have to offer. Just remember I've still got my short rope buddy. Jumpervali your friend and aff-i
  4. I think the more basic black you have in a rig the better. First it will not show dirt as easy. Second it will be easier to resale later when you upgrade to a more advanced system size. It looks pretty cool too! jumpervali
  5. www.doteasy.com You get registration and hosting for $25 a year. They allow 20 MB storage space, 1 gig monthly traffic, and 5 email names with forwarding. Their really easy to get setup with too. There are no popups or bull with their server. I've got 6 accounts with them and have to say their the best for my needs. Jumpervali
  6. Sense I'm part owner of a dropzone, and don't really have a job. Would I have to go somewhere else? jumpervali
  7. I think it's just cool to be a part of what for most people is one of the biggest events in their life. jumpervali aff-i
  8. I did over 50 training jumps during the 3 months before going. The small dz I jumped at had no aff, so I had to go out of town to train. I went to the course alone. The only disadvantage to going to a course without a partner is the student training phase of the jump. Some time will need to be spent with anyone your working with so you have a nice smooth flow. All the training jumps I made were done with current aff-i/e's. The best training I got was to practice with the real dive flows. That raised my comfort level, and trained proper responses to what he is doing. If I was going to give you just one tip it would be proper responses to the students body position. You will get good marks if you fly your slot, and keep your hands off the student. The i/e will be looking at your air skill no doubt, but he wants to see you respond to the students body position with the proper signals. How many times did my i/e need signals 2 or 3 maybe. I never had to roll one back over either. When I was training I got some rollover training because I caused them. Don't grab their hand "oops" that was fast. You may be still building the f/f time to go, so why not go ahead and start training, it builds time. just relax and have fun jumpervali aff-i
  9. If your having "happy feet" problems try this. Lay on the floor where you can put your toes on a chair seat. Practice your arch and press your toes on the chair till they make your body tip forward slightly. This will make you use the top muscle group of your thighs. If your doing arch practice without something to press on you'll be training your legs to pull up "negative leg input." The biggest thing to focus on during your dive is to relax and have fun. Just smile during the whole dive :-) jumpervali AFF-I-02
  10. 36 or 3 beers, it dont take much in a small Ga. town on a Tuesday night. jumpervali
  11. I paid over $100 an ounce for the beer I had the night of my DUI in 1995. I haven't spent a penny on it sense. jumpervali
  12. Black is a good choice for the top center cell b/c that's the one that gets all the packing filth on it. Always try to put a bright cell somewhere on it for others to see on your way down, and as an aid to help you find it if you have to look for it one day due to a mal. jumpervali
  13. There are a lot of skydivers who do not drink. Just ask them, Why put a thief in your mouth who will only rob you of your brain? Most folks after time will get to know you just don't drink no big deal. jumpervali
  14. My first year after my student jumps I made 360. I've beat that number each year sense 1995. They were all out of pocket until I got my tandem rating in 98. I make a point to never take any money home so I do get to fun jump a lot. Working jumps also paid for my AFF rating, and extra rigs. So you could say the I jump more because I have to jump more. I'm part owner of the skydiving center now too. jumpervali sl/aff/tandem-i s&ta eieio
  15. I had a DUI in 1995, and haven't had a drink after it. jumpervali
  16. A porter can fly at 4800 lbs gross. It is a lifting beast! They are a very tricky plane to fly, but a blast to jump. Sad regrets to all, blues folks. jumpervali
  17. You'll find most students will do well, but always be ready for a quick response required by you. You've got a lot to look forward to! Aff is what keeps skydiving interesting for me. I love seeing students do well, and enjoy helping the ones that are having trouble. Just wait till you recover a student spinning on his/her back, you'll surprise yourself to see how easy it really is. Welcome to our world! jumpervali aff-i-02
  18. I've had 3 so far. That's out of nearly 1800 jumps. 1 was a line over on my 36th jump, my buddy packed it. The next was a tandem with tension knots in the outside A lines. Again I didn't pack it. Then a spinning mal with line twist, not my pack job again. But the reserve pack job was mine, I was my "first" reserve save. It's no big deal to deal with a mal, you'll surprise yourself how fast you'll deal with it. The time you think about it comes after you land. Remember to look where your main goes you'll be looking for it sooner or later. jumpervali My Site

  21. I used to enjoy jumping from the local dam. After 15 years of my bandit trips over the safety rail to enjoy a 60 ft. freefall a friend of mine said I might enjoy skydiving. Wow what a cool idea, and it's legal-even cooler! So after training for a tandem on our walk to the airplane I did a 14000 ft jump, landed and got sick. It was so cool! Now 1700 jumps later I own 1/2 of the DZ, and have retired form my factory job of 17 years to do what I love. Oh and chicks dig skydivers- I'm told jumpervali georgia skydiver
  22. You folks can see me at.. http://georgiaskydiver.com jumpervali I'm on the first page
  23. Pity? For you? Well maybe, you are one of the few people who calls me cool. I guess a cool person would do one with you. hehehe jumpervali http://www.georgiaskydiver.com
  24. I started pro packing reserves in Sept. last year, and have had 5 saves out of the last 26 packjobs. The FIRST "yes I paid for it already" was my own. There is a different way you do the nose compared to a main canopy. I also pro pack for base jumps the same way. None have been off heading so far. Be safe jumpervali Georgia Skydiver
