Ok for my first question: Why is it that on every roll of film there is the skydiver butt shot? And on the more serious side. I myself am a self proclaimed shutter bug. I currently shoot a Konika T-3 that I have had since I was like 15 or in other words I have owned this camera for at least 10 years. I am very proud in the fact that I have taken many pics of my brothers face in agony after his skateboarding misshaps hehe nothing like pulling in a zoom as you focus the camera in a split second for that perfect picture. Anyway I digress. I was noticing that on ebay 35mm cameras are going for dirt cheap I would figure this has to do with the increased proliferation of digital cameras. Anyway my question is... Is there any 35mm camera that may be a good upgrade for me? I am looking for something that is reliable, possibly with an Auto Focus feature, and the possibiblity for a remote shutter. I will give Ray a whole bunch of Kudos for getting himself in with the Riverhead Town board. It would seem that any way that he can help he does. The town board has recently voted down a devlopers offer to buy the land and develope it, so all is well for the time being. However the devloper has vowed to keep on trying, and who knows what will happen with this election cycle that has just past. Unfortunalty a devloper has a whole lot more money than a bunch of broke skydivers. For now all we really can do is be a good neibor to the area, and try to remain vigilant. Ray is just one man who speaks for many. Lets just keep our ears to the ground, and try to keep up on this. I have heard that there will be many improvements made to the DZ at SDLI in the future, and it would be a shame if this area gets devloped and then the NYMBiots get thier way. The other solution is to wait untill it gets devloped, and then have a bunch of skydivers buy up the houses that get put up. The problem with this plan is I believe that the houses put up here will be near the 800k mark. Looking back in Long Island's history. Long Island was well known for it's racing, as well for it's role in the history of aviation. For instance Mitchel Fields which is where Amelia Eitheart made history is now a housing devlopment and the only remotely avaition relayed thing there is the Cradle of Aviation Museaum. West Hampton Dragstrip The west hampton dragstrip was in operation up untill a few years ago. The dragstrip was located there for many many years. When the dragstrip was first built it was surrounded by potatoe fields. Eventually the Hamptons blew up, and became one of the most affluant areas in the country. The people who had thier million dollar homes couldn't live with the idea of having a noisey dragstrip near thier houses, even though they erected sound baffles, and stoped the races after something like 8:00PM. So even though they knew that this condition was in place before moving into the area they still griped and got it closed down. The bridghampton raceway which from what I am told was world famouse now only consists of three turns, and the rest of it is a gold course. Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Skydive City in Zephyrhills Florida is truely one great DZ. Where to begin? The first thing you will notice about this DZ is it has a more than ample parking area. Which in turn is where the camping area/RV area is. And from there it only gets better. There are several buildings on premesis here. The first closest to the parking/camping area would be the shower house. These are some of the best showering/bathroom facilities I have seen at any campground. Each shower room provides more than ample room to get changed in as well as most importantly providing privacy. In thier manifest building there is also the Hard Dock cafe for those who might be a little hungery. There is also an ATM located at the manifest building. The manifest office is Air Conditioned, for those hot summer days. There is also computer access in manifest, so you can check out your emails without having to worry. Be kind please share the time after all if you are in manifest, shouldn't you be getting on a load or something. Just off of the manifest building is a very nice shaded seating deck. This seating deck has a very nice view of the landing area, so when you are not on a load you can just chill out and watch the swoopers. Yes Skydive City has a swoop pond. They have some incredable pictures on thier web site. For he student the landing area has a huge arrow indicating wind dirrection, so you can always tell where you need to be with regards to your holding area on your canopy ride down. Gear rental price for student gear from Skydive City itself is average, but for the more experianced skydiver you may want to demo a rig from the Sunshine factory. The packing area is huge. So if you want to pack go ahead it is nice and carpeted. ANd if you are too lazy to pack yourself well then there is the packers tent as well. They also have an air conditioned training room and other training areas for practicing that bigway you've allways wanted to get in on. Even in thier "slow" summer seasion they have 2 Twin Otters which get you to 13.5k fast. Even when there is no jumping going on there is enough nuttyness to keep you occupied. If you make it to only one Dropzone on the East Coast of the US you have got to hit this one.

So as of late I have come to the realization that I am an asshole.I just thought that if anyone sees me as beeing an asshole let me know and tell me to STFU, but if you are going to do as such please give me a good reasion as to why I should STFU. I have said some things in a couple of threads that have probibly gone well beyond the relms of common decency, and good taste. I am regretful for that. However, I will not go back and edit any of those posts because, hey they happened. I'll own up to my shit. Generally when I am acting like an asshole or trollish if someone corrects me I don't get into flaming matches I am usually reasionable. I had one of my fellow fire brigade members cll me on som shit during fire fighter 1 training, and actually the one who has called me on myshit and I are closer than the rest of the guys thatI went through the program with. Also for now I am going to work on being less of oa post whore, because I am probibly not in the right frame of mind for post whoring. I have been working a lot of hours with very little rest lately, and that is always a recipe for disaster with me. I get super cranky. I think that's enough for now so untill later I will be lurking.
