You know while I was still finishing up my A there was another person who was still on student status. He finished AFF but was still working on his A. He was jumping a rig that his friend had given to him. I can respect that. This rig had a 190 sq ft canopy. He was talking to me about downsizing to a 170 because he wants something that, "Flies Faster." He then hopped on a load after this discussion. After he got back from that load he dropped his gear in the packing tent, and then he was bitching that his shoulder was killing him because he had a rough landing. He still didn't see my point when I asked him if he really though it was a good idea to try to downsize. The S&TA at this DZ said a canopy that "Flies Faster" will only kill you faster. Changing what our children are eating in school is not going to keep people from becoming obease. Healthy eating habits need to be reinforced in the home, and not just in our schools. Most kids are getting fat not because of the one meal at school they eat, but because of the two meals at home and all the snacking that goes on as well. I am a registered Libritarian. I tend to say I lean to the more conservative side as well. I would probibly be republican if it wern't so heavly influanced by the religeous right. Most of the Republicans I know are Catholics. I believe the national government should be more conservative, and the local government should be more liberal/progressive. Lately Democrat and Republican have become so similiar it is hard to see where one ends and the other begins. ahh here is perhaps one of the most complex topics plauging mankind. Now that we have medical technology that can improve peoples length of life, should we improve lenght of life. We focus too much on keeping people alive, but not living. we need to improve quality of life instead of improving quantity. Just because someone is alive dosen't mean they are living life. My personal feelings. Due to the fact that I used to work for a private ambulance company and shuffled old people around I would have to say we can't make one broad sweeping statement as to what we should do. Each person ages differently. For the active 80 year old I see no harm in just keeping taps on them, but largely letting them do their own thing as long as they are capable. Whereas if we have a 60 year old patient who is vent dependant with alzhimers and dementia there really isn't any reasion to keep them alive except to drain on the rest of us.
