  1. Explains the first ones popping up in Classifieds. Ill stick to my FlySight JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Realise a GoPro in the location where you want it will be exactly where your reserve pilotchute passes in case you have a cutaway/reserve ride. If the settings and aim for one camera are already tasking, adding another one 'because you forget' also doesnt sound like the best of ideas. Granted, Im playing safety nazi here....but better safe than sorry... If you want good video...ask someone to do outside video, and worry less about filling your body with as many gopros as possible JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Why not just switch your CX115 backwards. On both smoke/flocking jumps where you fly base or solo the forward facing camera will at best show a view resembling 2 minutes of google earth anyways. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. The guy's name wasnt even Jarno...it was made up...probably based on famous winged aviators with the same name for real JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. What would worry me more is discovering it flies, and than flying at 80 to 100mph forward and needing to land JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  8. Ive used the Havok for just about anything, ranging from Acro to Camerawork (use it mostly for that) and base. Especially in the area of camera work, its the only suit I can do these flluid big carves around formations with. This video has a lot of Havok footage, of the suit doing just about anything. https://vimeo.com/55014448 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Its a shame no manufacturer has yet come out with a topmounted full face helmet akin to the old Sidewinder that Skysystems used to make. A top mounted camera/box, similar design, with a smooth cover that would fit several sizes of action cam (only the lens showing), would for sure make a helmet completely snag free and (arguably) a cutaway something to less worry about. 10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ie40m35dMYo It actually looks bigger than the image made suspect..but seems much nicer in mounting options for skydiving than the Telle-Tubby gopro stuff JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. The main difference is subtle variations in steering. If acrobatics are part of what you like doing, the Shadow seems like the most logical choice. Also being that its more in line with the Havok you already jump. Regardless, you will be happy with whatever you do end up choosing. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Seems to be a browser issue vimeo has on the odd computer. Switching to HD or another browser seems to fix that. But a problem in vimeo code, not something on our end JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Yea..my bad...Hungary...mixing up this and another event Im setting up (for Ukraine). Its going to be a busy year. Check www.flylikebrick.com for the calendar with events. More coming soon! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. We've been running camps like these for several years already. After this one, the next one is sceduled for Ukraine. With MI8 chopper as the jumpship. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Looking for a wingsuit camp where you can fly in small groups, with good dynamic flying and a strong focus on skills? We're organizing a 2 week wingsuit camp in Eloy this coming March. Unlike normal wingsuit boogies, this is a closed event where only pre-registered people jump together (no walk-ons). The event is dedicated to learning. We will jumps with small groups, with 2 coaches and during the 2 weeks will make 50 jumps with the exact same people (additional jumps possible). So no switching jump plans per load, changing slots constantly. But building on the previous jump, and repeating the same jump plan with constant briefings to improve on your body position and flying skills. Its possible to also do additional 1 on 1 jumps for those interested. Registered jumpers Wolfgang Lienbacher - Austria Rafael Vogel - Austria Thijs Deschepper - Belgium Eli Gerris - Belgium Jim Scott - Scotland Jayme Altieri - Australia Ariel Legassa - USA Jason Bresson - USA Dave van der Zee - Holland Joe McGirr - Ireland The camp is arranged in a package deal including rental car and hotel. For more information and other options such as tunneltime, check out toratora.nl The coaches: Benoit Syben & Jarno Cordia - video JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  17. Hi everyone, Only slightly more than a month, and the Puerto Rico freefall festival will break loose! Andreea Olea and Scott Callantine will be doing load organizing, and Skwrl and myself will be on camera duties flying our lenses around the flocks to capture pretty stills and video. Next to the flocks, there will also be an opportunity to do 1 on 1 jumps coaching and photo/video jumps for those interested. On behalf of all the organizers, cant wait to see you all there! 18. Between this, the replies to the proximity flying question and Giselle Martins fairy tales, Id say this forum is of to a great start this year... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Sounds like a problem a buddy of mine had. It also was warming up. Appeared to be a short in the camera. Id hop by the store where you got it, and get it replaced. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. I had the joy to get to edit all this wonderful footage last month for the latest Need 4 Speed video. From the whole team at Phoenix-Fly, we thank you all for a great 2012, and wishing you a safe and amazing 2013!! Check it out on vimeo.com JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Though that sounds great, performance isnt the goal on the first jumps. Nothing illustrates this better than the fact that a person at that exact same jump 210 killed himself and injured another wingsuit pilot hard, slamming into a flock out of control only a week or two ago. Being 'outflown' can also mean 'slam harder into someone' when it comes to flying with other people. Dont sugercoat it. I dont think there is an actual rainbow of color when it comes to experience needed before getting into wingsuit flying. The more experience flying with others, the better. Sadly we're seeing more and more examples of people with low experience ending up flying into other people and doing things they shouldnt be doing. Id be quite happy if I saw everyone teaching focus on slow progression, both before and after starting to fly a wingsuit, through all the mandatory steps needed to become a good wingsuit pilot. Ive seen experienced skydivers with 1000+ jumps do things in flocks at 15 to 20 jumps in a wingsuit, that show more knowledge and understanding of flying a body, than the skills of beginner who are merely able to stretch their legs will ever be able to show. Sure a beginner with 200ish jumps may easily tap 2 o 3 minutes of freefall in the right (or wrong) wingsuit. But that beginner will not have the same understanding on the dynamics of formation flying. Especially when the focus on these mere 200 jumps has been on solos and tracking body position. 23. If a cameraman can keep up, the suit isnt flying 100% Videos of suits flown agressive for acrobatics or proximity are way more interesting to watch as well that solos holding one body position...i JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. In general, the best students I get on first flights are not the ones who focussed on solo/tracking jumps. Usually its the ones who had a quite complete background in a discipline such as Formation Skydiving or Freefly. Those students are aware of what their body does in various orientations and relative to other people, and in general they are more safety aware. Especially in that light, Id dare say that the most dangerous students I see starting out in formation flying are those same 'solo' jumpers. As all they practiced is basically holding one body position, and navigation. But both not completely the same as wingsuit, and if they teach themselves bad habits, it actually takes them a lot longer to unlearn those. Basically, all the things aspiring wingsuit pilots are trying to learn themselves, are the same things that any good coach will teach them during their FFC and one or two subsequent jumps. Performance in flying especially seems to be big on peoples mind, yet thats exactly the one thing any FFC and your first dozen flights are not about. They are about learning to navigate, fly your body in a new piece of gear. The best preperation in becoming a wingsuit pilot is 'just jump and have fun' and try and actually be good at something involving docks and other people in close proximity in the sky. Jumps that have learning goals in terms of what you're doing. A very lengthy way of sayig A trackingsuit will be a fun addition, but with regards to becoming a good wingsuit pilot, that money is better spent on some coached freefly, FS jumps, tunneltime or saving up to that wingsuit you may want to buy once you get to the point of donning wings.
