"feeling" the air is a common term for how the friction of the air feels upon your body. I have to admit that if that is all he said, it was a slight injustice, but the phrase is quite valid. In sit flying, there is a very difinitive air pressure on your chest if you are backsliding. That would indicate you should thrust your hips forward, which would straighten your back. In HD, feeling the air is damn near everything. A couple of times I have jumped solo being the first out, and closed my eyes for most of the jump. This forces upon you to use your other senses that can seem ignored when you are depending on so much visual stimulation. You can literally "feel" your movement as you fly. Its quite a sensation, and not for the faint of heart. I don't reccommend it if you are not able to have total bodily control with your eyes open, and are the only one in the sky. Like a Cessna load with only 1 tandem on it. Make sure you have multiple dytters and have some sense of time. Otherwise, your farked. V-9. Call Alti-2 and tell them about your problem. I had some similar issues after that shitty firmware patch as well. I sent it back and they "fixed" it. I got it back and while playing with it, it decided to do a jump all on its own. And even log it. It went nuts. It proceeded to freak out for whatever reason every couple hours making noises from the Ms.Pacman era. I called them again and they sent me a new one before I sent the old one back. They are a very good Co. with awesome customer service. And if anyone needs some older firmware versions, I have a couple that work. I dont have to wonder at all. The thought of it occurs all the time. I dont mean every jump, but often enough. Nothing galvanizes your mortality than spinning on your back with unrecoverable line twists that have created g-forces so strong that it makes it hard to cut away. Then on top of that finally being under my reserve at the 900' level. Then there are the highly skilled people that have died either pushing the limits, or just going on a normal skydive. Chris Martin on one side, and Holly on the other. It can happen at all levels of peoples personal limits. As far as death goes, it is all too much a part of my profession. You might want to take a step back for a second and realize that I didn't have anything removed. All I did was make a poll as I wanted to know the DZ.Com demographic for desiring to see death of others in our sport.
