  1. No I believe it is real, what I didn't believe was that a college made it mandatory in order to graduate. Can you imagine the lawsuits today over such a thing. I have a friend in the navy and he never told me they had to do something like this. I'll be asking him next time I speak to him though. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  2. You have to build a time machine and get accepted to GA tech. This explains alot about those techies. Maybe one of the instructors is still around. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drownproofing This came up in a discussion with a coworker of mine. I thought he was full of it and then he shows me this webpage. All I can say is WTF!! Skymama's #2 stalker -
  4. My example is a bad one you would have to see the road I speak of. I agree there are times a bike should be in the lane. When there were repaving the bike lane on the road I speak of I would ride down the center of the lane so that cars would not try to squeeze by. They didn't like it much, I didn't like to do it, but it was the safest thing. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  5. no no man, in this particular case the road was built pretty much for bikes. The bike lane is huge, no cars are allowed to park on this street and there are very few obstacles that warrant crossing over the line. I ride the line when I ride to be ready to move for runners, but there are bikers that are riding as if there was no bike lane, just on the other side of the white line like it was the end of the road. I don't get that. The road is however wide enough to still fit a car through when they do that. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  6. I think as a kid your seat fell off but you continued to ride and this is why you resent bikes so much. Skymama's #2 stalker -

  8. I don't think they are worth as much as you think. I'm pretty sure some of mine were first edition or second and on ebay they were a dime a dozen. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  9. I blow through the stop signs on the backroads because no one is there. In the city or in congested area I obey the rules. You kind of have to or you will end up smushed. When I first started I used to ride on the sidewalks. Too many close encounters with pedestrians and I learned it was my place to be on the street. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  10. Well not much can be done about the ones in the way of traffic. Sometimes it is warranted, other times you wonder what the hell they are doing. You just have to be patient sometimes. Same goes for the bikes though, there are bike lanes and I see bikes riding in the street all the time. Then they don't understand why the cars behind are being all pissy. I would hope that the ones impeding traffic aren't just doing it so that people see how cool they are. That would warrant a definite honking at. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  11. I had them and still have them. I was going to sell them on ebay not to long ago but found out they aren't really worth much. Oh well. Looks like my helmet is going to get some really old stickers Skymama's #2 stalker -
  12. [replyThe cyclists I'm referring to, are usually the 'week-end warrior' types in purple and lime-green spandex. As previously described, 'Lance wannabes'. I know of a lot of cyclists who go out in the country and ride the side-roads and don't bother anyone. It's the ones who have to be on the 'main' streets and roads I'm talkin' about. Chuck The road isn't just for cars. They have just as much right to be there are you. I used to ride on some backroads and would get yelled at more than when I was on a main road. Main roads tend to have more room. I'm lucky to live by a road that has dedicated bike lanes. It amazes me how many times cars are driving half in these lanes. Skymama's #2 stalker -
  13. So ummm I agree and disagree with you. But whatever. Some of the people that can afford all the expensive stuff and matching shit are actually bad ass. Some people though just want to look cool. I have an ok bike, cost me 350 I think, but I got it from the vendor. Retail was like 650 maybe. Anyway it works for me, and when I did my sprint triathlon a few weeks ago I just laughed at the 1000 dollar bikes I was flying by. What good does it do you if you have not trained? I don't knock people though that are out there. They are out there at least. I'm actually in the market for one of these thousand dollar bikes because mine is no longer up to my level. I won't be paying that though since I have hook ups. And my sweaty balls have not come up in any discussion as of yet between me and any other bikers. Maybe I need to ask next time. 25. I am aware of such a comment. After your candle story I can't believe I actually said that. This whole trying to pie me after the fact is no good though. The lengthy trial process of actually determining if said pieing indeed needs to take place will only put a drain on numerous resources of both parties. We don't need that to happen.
