Actually I think the AirZone Extreme girls are in charge of the video... I'd like to see it sometime soon too.... Oh, hello again!

Try netfirms.com, smartguy. We use them and their packages are pretty cheap and the service is good. You can get enough bandwidth to do SOME video hosting. See you this weekend. Oh, hello again!

Democrats bite their own noses to spite their faces
Trent replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in The Bonfire
Does anyone else find this quote hilarious? So let's see, you can no longer buy "assault weapons" for 10 years and the crimes where people used "assault weapons" in the past 10 years have declined? Hmmm... I banned potatos at my house 10 years ago, so there has been a 2/3 reduction in potato eating at my house in the last decade. I wonder if that's because the only way to get potatos now is to sneak them in when I'm not looking. Gee, I wonder if the people who woulda used "assault weapons" just went ahead and committed their violent crime with something that anti-gun people think you can't "assault" someone with. Maybe we should call "guns" "boom-sticks". Then we'd have ZERO "gun" violence in the US. Oh, hello again! -
Sabre2 openings, which mighty warrior has tamed them
Trent replied to friflaj's topic in Gear and Rigging
Okay, no one get mad here... this is all just what I've seen. As a dealer, former Sabre2 jumper (now Vengeance), and permanent fixture at the DZ... I've noticed a couple of things with people who have problems with Sabre2's. Usually, I hear the most complaints from newer jumpers who have just moved from a student canopy (Sabres here) to a Sabre2. Now, they have also started jumping new rigs too. As Kris mentioned, we had one case where the harness was being tightened unevenly... albeit not THAT uneven, but enough. Usually the people who have consistent off-heading openings are experiencing their first elliptical canopy and haven't dialed in how important an even harness fit and even weight distribution is. More experienced jumpers I've seen demo Sabre2's, have not had the same problems at all. In my experience with my S2 135, I had slight off-heading openings, but nothing serious... AND they got better as I got more jumps! Hmmm.... BUT, if you do have a built in turn, then it needs to go back to the factory. Have other people on the DZ jump your rig and canopy. The more experienced the better. Just my observation. -
Blasphemy!! You might need to see a taste-ologist about that. I'm just stating facts here... it is the best candy bar ever.
-
Just in case you haven't tried one... I feel it is a moral imperative to let you all know that this is by far the greatest candy bar in history. YES, it's better than whatever you're thinking is pretty damned good! You should stop what you're doing right now and go find one. Really. Oh, hello again!

Of course we do!

We spend over half our season away from Spaceland, why wouldn't we want to leave? We're doing Mardi Gras at New Orleans Skydiving Center in a week... so, see? We go places. Oh, hello again!

Like it or not, Reagan did great things for this country. Go back and read books about him and his administration from authors that both hate and love him. You'll see. I guess people really hate the fact that someone actually had the balls to be a decisive president and spoke their mind. And supply-side economics works, like it or not. Go and do some searches for polls on the best presidents in history... Ronnie rates in the top 2 if not the #1 spot. Can't remember where I saw that, but go ahead. THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE LIKED A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT??? The horror. Oh, hello again!

Yep yep, we'll be there! Friday till we stumble home from the parties on Tuesday! Looking forward to meeting and jumping with all of you cajun freaks! By the way, sign this: http://www.flyvertical.com/petition.cfm Oh, hello again!

Just in case you haven't done this already: http://www.flyvertical.com/petition.cfm Not only will this petition help the US Team at the World Meet have a full freestyle contingent, but it will hopefully make the USPA realize there needs to be a protocol for selecting teams to rep the US when we don't have a full roster. Click the link, the explanation's in there. Sign if you think it's a good idea. Thanks! Oh, hello again!
-
Yeah, he/she/it was retarded enough to keep posting false info after we logged IPs. Kept using the same IP too. Nice. Anyway, yeah, the BOD should be making a decision in late february at the board meeting. A lot of teams have already sent their letters of support to the BOD, so this petition is only one part of the whole deal. If you haven't signed already, please, take the 2 seconds to do it: http://www.flyvertical.com/petition.cfm Oh, hello again!
-
Anyone want to track an IP address for me? I'm too lazy to find a free service that'll track an IP. Let me know, false info poster is using the same IP every time they post a name... oops. Oh, hello again!
-
Okay, now lets see what their IP address is.... They're running a script to put tons of names into the list. Using names of towns in Texas with random state names and USPA numbers. Wasn't actually that hard to remove them, but they'll do it again. Not much you can do about that I guess, but verify each USPA number against their database... Oh, hello again!
-
To whoever just added a ton of bogus names to the petition... thanks for being an asshole. Oh, hello again!
-
That's what we're trying get the USPA to consider by bringing this issue to them. It would seem that the previous years' winners would be a good place to start... So go sign already.... http://www.flyvertical.com/petition.cfm Oh, hello again!

As far as I know, for the World Meet, the top 3 teams from each country are welcomed to go for artistic events. Now I don't know about the World Cup or the World Air Games.... Oh, hello again!
-
The USPA has every interest in having the US team under-represented and are actively involved in making sure of that? How do you figure? I don't know what that trust is for since we bought our tickets for Brazil ourselves, are paying for our own lodging, food, and as far as I know... our registration fees too. So what is the trust for? Maybe they can tell us, because you'd think that they'd let us know if there was any help they were going to give the teams going to world meets. As for why they need to be petitioned to allow Dos Gatos to compete... it's because they usually do not allow teams who did not compete at the US Nationals to go to a world meet. To get to the world meet, you have to have an official invitation from your country's parachuting association. The only way to get an invitation as of now, is to place in the top 3 positions (in artistic events). Now if 1 of those teams can't go, the next participant (4th place) is asked to go... then if they can't 5th place goes. In THIS situation, the 2nd, 4th, and 5th place teams aren't going to the world meet, so we have 2 teams representing when we could have 3. THAT's why we have to have the petition. Oh, hello again!
-
No, there aren't any rules in place for any discipline in the artistic events (I don't know anything about the RW rules), that's why this is important. There SHOULD be some kind of procedures to ensure that the US can field a complete team for the World Meets. There really isn't any reason they shouldn't have some way of working past the teams that competed in the qualifier if those teams that did qualify cannot or don't want to go to the world meet. After all, world meets are paid for by the individual teams who compete, so the USPA has no interest in having an underreprestented contingent. See? Oh, hello again!
-
That aside... remember to tell people at the DZ about it this weekend! Print out the link, memorize it, write it on your chest, whatever... just let people know! http://www.flyvertical.com/petition.cfm Word, Oh, hello again!
-
Nah, License numbers will work too... future signers should use their uspa numbers though... so tell your stupid friend not to worry! Oh, hello again!
-
Well, she's sending the letters from competitors in a package that explains the situation for the BOD members. That has to be done in advance so that they'll know what's up come meeting time. A link to the petition will also be given in these packets. We're hoping that the petition is large enough so that they'll see that people care BEFORE the meeting, so they'll take it seriously DURING the meeting. Remeber they're having to appeal to individual board members, so the more time they have to consider it... Showing up would be a good idea, but that's not always an option... Maybe we could send a hardcopy of the complete petition by then for the meeting? Missy? Oh, hello again!
-
Just so you all know, there are a lot of names on that petition already, but they could use a lot more! If all goes as planned, the BOD will see the petition on Monday or Tuesday, so if you've got just 2 spare seconds, sign up now! The US Team, now and in the future, needs to have alternate plans for selections to the team, and this is a way to get the BOD to consider it and start to make some changes. Don't hesitate: http://www.flyvertical.com/petition.cfm Thanks again! Oh, hello again!
-
Try this, if you haven't already. http://www.cajunchickens.com/files/Anomaly2003Nats.wmv Oh, hello again!

Most of your question is something for Missy to answer, or for the competitors on this board themselves. I CAN tell you that many competitors from all disciplines have signed the petition... so if that indicates anything to you. Also, as a competitor going to the world meet myself... I think that whatever makes the US Team strongest is the best course of action. No team is losing their place at the meet since only 2 teams have decided to go. All of the freestyle teams who COULD go to the meet, DO support this effort. What does that tell ya? Oh, hello again!
