Was there really a headlight infraction? Or did they just make that up to make the charges more minor? They shouldn't be making shit up, but if there was an infraction, dropping the bigger one and keeping a smaller one is fine with me. I got a ticket where the cop did that on his own... instead of writing a ticket for 76 in a 60, he wrote it for a 74 in a 60 zone just so the fine wasn't nearly as severe. As far as being kicked out of the US in a week... sorry to hear that. Not that I'd suggest it, but you mighta thought about skipping the court date altogether. Of course, if you want to ever get a residency here... that's not a good idea. When I went to traffic court, I was shocked to see how easily people who got the traffic lawyers would get off. They'd wander over to the cops and talk for a minute... next thing you know, charges dropped. Crazy what $75 will buy you! Of course, the court lost my paperwork so I just got a receipt saying "we'll call you if we find it"!!

So, Kallend, should we reduce all "attempted murder" charges to assault or reckless endangerment since we just CAN'T know that badguy#1 was actually trying to shoot and miss just as a joke? Oh, hello again!

I think the whole show is designed to get viewers used to the idea of a woman in office. If it lasts more than a season, you'll have some people comfortable seeing a woman at the helm and by 2008, it'll be that much easier to vote for Hillary! I'd like to formulate a whole evil-democrat-go-hillary conspiracy theory about it... and probably could... but I just don't care enough. I'll just vote against her and call it a day. Oh, hello again!

Jed and I are here in Westbury, so is Tom Jenkins and Kimmy, Stevie and his lady, Vlad and Ivette. Big Jim (dad) is up at his house as well. Oh, hello again!

I think I meant "IMPLY" not "apply". Sorry, I'm packing up at the DZ to get out of the way of Nature's wraith, so I was in a hurry. I never said your view was worthless, I just think it's far fetched and wrong... just as you think the same of my views. From many of your posts, I have a feeling we will disagree on almost everything, but since when did that ever stop anyone from posting? Oh, hello again!

On the eve of yet another hurricane that will be most likely blamed on the government... I simply don't have the time to respond to your academically oriented post. However, I would ask if you have ever actually lived in the US, or even been here. It really sounds like you don't grasp the true nature of what people are like here, let alone the tax burdens that we bear. It is nice that you will back your arguments with Hegel, Machiavelli and others... but it doesn't make it so. Sure, great thinkers have their points, but for you to apply misdirection and manipulation because of a day of prayer is ludicrous at best and paranoid at worst. Making an intelligent argument for what amounts to a tin-hat conspiracy theory doesn't change what it really is. But nice post! Very thoughtful. Oh, hello again!

Heeere we go... please, enlighten all of us as to why having a day of prayer can be lightened to being silent during slavery. I'm sure your explanation will be VERY thorough and well thought out... of course, it'll still be a stretch and probably wrong to boot, but whatever. I don't know where you've lived or where you're from, but if you think that having a day of prayer is a government attempt to get us to all bow our heads so they can do something sneaky... you just might be a little naive. Like we can't pay attention if we spend a few minutes out of a day to give thoughts to those affected by an event.... right. Pretty much everything the president does is a photo-op somehow or another, he doesn't have to make an event to get in the papers. But hey, your probably right... we're all sheep and blindly turn our heads when commanded. Only people who think similarly to you can truly SEE the light. Oh, hello again!
-
Hahaha, okay fair enough. I was like... I know I'm not a great mind here... but people don't have to actually SAY that!
-
Ummm.... It ain't so? Oh, hello again!

Should I be offended by that? My opinion doesn't matter any more or less because of anything my team's done. If someone is glad to hear what I said, let them be glad. I've felt the same way when someone I've known said something that surprised me. Plenty of people here disagree and people get riled up when someone agrees on something? So does anyone disagree with the idea that a national Day of Prayer isn't a bad thing? Oh, hello again!

Bill, go back and read what you wrote. It really seems that you look down on the people who got Bush elected. Sure lots of people say that anyone who voted against "their candidate" is stupid, but I'd have thought you'd be above that. I wouldn't have said anything about it, but I was surprised to actually see you wrote something like that. Many people here and elsewhere have mentioned that this attitude may be the reason that people don't elect the high-and-mighty candidates. Some parties just don't get it yet. If they did, we might start seeing some real alternatives in the next elections. Oh, hello again!
-
Did you or did you not just take a shot at people who voted for Bush? Maybe you didn't... maybe you do think that they all use poor grammar and clear brush. I just think it is funny that people say things like that, then ignore the fact that there are complete morons who voted for every candidate. I know I know... it's cool to pick on Bush and think that the majority of the US is stupid, but it isn't right. Oh, hello again!
-
Right, but that doesn't stop you from saying that people voted for Bush are people who have poor grammar. I just think it's funny that the intellectually superior types will accuse Bush supporters of being simpletons while using their last breath to get the votes of the uneducated by promising to give them stuff and saying that the other candidate only cares about the rich. Pretty hypocritical, don't you think? Oh, hello again!
-
As opposed to those who would vote for the other guy, you know people who look down on your average, imperfect grammar using, brush clearing, hardworking Americans. Those same people seem to be confused when the people they look down upon don't elect them. Meanwhile they make a strong point to court the poor and less educated segments of US society by promising more socialist policies and calling the Republican Party the party of the wealthy businessmen. Some people even find it curious that the "smarty pants" candidates even support letting people who don't have any grasp of english grammar vote... because they don't speak any english at all. Oh, hello again!

I'll take a stab. How about the author should lighten up. Having a "day of prayer" is a gesture. I'd think pretty much anyone would think of it as a nice gesture. I've known atheists who've been told that someone would pray for them... they didn't have a problem with it, appreciated it, and walked on thinking that it was useless anyway. No big deal. A "day of prayer" also further brings attention to an event where people need help... that can't be bad either. I can't see how anyone would have a problem having a "day of prayer" established since you never hear of them telling people that it is only for Christians or Buddhists or something. If you want to offer your prayers to whoever it is you pray to... join the others who would do the same thing at the same time. If not, go about your business. I don't see how praying to your god could do any harm. Oh, hello again!

Wow, sorry to trouble your immense understanding of the world with a simple question. Surely someone of your enormous intellect can see the hypocrisy of your position that the Palestinians were there first so the land is theirs, but it's okay that the hundreds of other natives in the Americas, South Africa, and pacific islands don't deserve their land back. Really, how is it different? Or doesn't it matter if it happened 150 years ago? It is nice to see we have yet another poster who knows everything. Congratulations, you're the 1,236,342,123rd one here in SC. Oh, and from your responses to Bill... it looks like you lack the very tolerance that you chastise him for NOT having. Surprise. I'll try to avoid any further vapid responses since you still have to go through the rest of the thread and respond to every single post, applying your wisdom. Oh, hello again!
-
So was that a yes or a no? Do we kick all the non-original natives out of North and South America? Let's get them all out of Africa too while we're at it. On another note, all your self editing is pointless since you leave in the offensive parts and just cross it out or substitute it back in in a footnote. Your attitude is more offensive than any of Bill's posts. If you don't like his beleifs, get over it. You don't own the only opinion in the world. Oh, hello again!
-
See what happens when you try to avoid saying non-mexican-central american-south american-indians? Does that make sense now? Oh, hello again!
-
Don't ever assume you know what I think based on what I haven't said. Why can't you answer the question as is, on its own? Since you think Israel should pack up and go, should all of us in the US wh aren't of native-american descent go too? And how about those non-native people occupying all of latin america? How about getting all of the non-persian descended people out of Iran? Notice, I never once said anything about anyone being treated fairly or unfairly. Either answer the questions or ignore them entirely. But hey, if you can't or don't want to because it'd make you look hypocritical... attack the person asking the question. Oh, hello again!
-
Seems like that's exactly what people want to have happen in Israel, doesn't it? If so, let's not be hypocritical about it... let's give it all back! Oh, hello again!
-
Just curious, but since some people here think the Palestinians are just reclaiming their rightful land... do you support kicking all non-native-americans out of the US and Canada? How about the non-mestizos out of Mexico, Central and South America? Oh, hello again!

Did you watch any of the hearings? It was awesome. Roberts made those retards look like... well, retards. It would have been hilarious, but I can't really laugh too much with Kennedy's mug on screen. Roberts did a great job from what I saw... took the wind out of a lot of sails! Oh, hello again!

I had this conversation with several judges and USPA people when I overheard them talking about removing freeflying altogether (meaning not including 4way either). There were not SO FEW teams this year... there was 1 less in Open and 2 less in Intermediate. Not a big deal, the numbers have been about the same since I started competing in 2002. There has never been more than 10 teams in either open or intermediate. So I wouldn't say we've really seen a decline YET. As far as interest to compete... there's a couple of reasons that I see. Demographics: many freeflyers are younger and poorer. Skill: It takes freeflyers much longer to get to the point where they could even be competitive. Modesty: A lot of freeflyers don't compete because they don't think they'd do well. (There's been 4 "freefly leagues" in Houston alone with 5-8 teams each year... but it's local so no pressure) Now 4 way will have its own problems for sure, but like has been said... it appeals to the side of us that are tired of subjective judging. Personally, I think the subjective side is part of the game like many other sports (gymnastics, snowboarding, etc.). It's worked against us a few times, and helped us a few times... but that's the game. I feel like it would be a real shame to lose the artistic aspect of freeflying. Often times that is what pushes people to do new and more difficult things. 4way was fun for sure... and I'm sure once it gets rolling it will be great. But there are plenty of problems that will arise as it grows. Think it's hard to keep a 3way team together? Try 5. Think busts are purely objective? Ask some 4-8-16 way competitors. It's just a new avenue for people to compete, and it will have it's growing pains. Ideally, I'd compete in both. I think it would be a real shame to see the artistic side go. Oh, hello again!

We can't profile weapons just because of the way they look... otherwise the bad guys will start using weapons that look like boom mics and cameras. Oh, hello again!

Your friend must be really sharp to be able to judge that the planes were remote controlled just from seeing all of 3 seconds of flight on TV. I don't suppose that sloppy flying could be explained by amateurs at the controls shaking with jihadi delight that they were about to enter the lowest depths of hell. Wait, all of us in NY at the time are just keeping a big secret. It was a controlled demolition, but we all conspired to make it look like an attack so NYC would get some sympathy and maybe the Olympics. Oh, hello again!
