    New rig..

Yo! It is a pilot rig! I`m the pilot.. And I made it, because the stuff on the market today is not creating a smooth enough profile over your body. So once again VKB had to take matters in to their own hands.. It is by far the more aerodynamic rig out there as far as I know, and will soon be availeble for ya all! It is a must if you want to FLY!! not fall, then everything else is ok.. To continue the profile of the body as smooth as possible, as shown in pic 39, is what you want to get a good lift to drag ratio.. And these back deflectors every wingsuit is equipped with is just bogus, doesnt work. The profile needs to be smoth all the way. At least continue further down the ass then today. to move the lifting point and the point of separation further back.. Hmm, where is that pilotchute hidden.. It is on the rig somewhere.. Enjoy, Andreas

    New rig..

Ok then, here it is, my new rig from Virtus rigging! Smooth? I can`t wait to fly it, looks like it`s pretty aerodytnamic, dont you think? Peace out, Andreas
  3. The material used in the pants is a single layer of coated cordura. not thicker than a pair of jeans. The jacket is very thin, single layer of rainjacket material. (like a waterproof sportsjacket) Not much use of patterns, just try and error mostly on the jacket. Used a lot of needles to make the right fit before sewing though. The pants are basiclly two pieces of fabrick, one front and one back. A lot of needles and try and error there as well. (Dont have the patiens to make patterns etc. just go for it!) I had most of the design and solutions already figured out, based on earlier designs and gear the other guys had made or was making, so i already had a clear image in my head. And that always makes it easier.
  4. Some pics of my track suit, used in Superterminal. Built the pants from scratch, cords attached inside it on loops attached in the reinforcing (webbing) The jacket is a heavily modified rainjacket, and the elastics are attached to the jacket like with the pants. I`ve got handles to hold the jacket tight with, and the tubs are used to widen it all the way. When I let go of the handle, the elastics make the handles and sleew retract making the pull clean and easy. Putting the cord/elastics on the back makes the armwing smoother, and it attacks the air in a better angle then if in front. (lower angle of attack, means less drag, more speed and thus more lift..) Enough info for now, you got figure something out for your self you lazy americans.. Peace out, Andreas

    Track Suits

Yo Vandev! I will post a better pictures of my suit during the day, I look like a ampute in that picture.. Ill post pics from the front, back and in profile so you can see what I`ve been flying with in Superterminal. The rest of the guys also have similar suits, except lukky luke, who has taken it even further as you might have seen in Superterminal.. Meanwhile, take a look at the future... This is the conservative stuff, look forward to Lukky Lukes out of the hangar.. Details later... Peace out!
  6. Sier du det ja, interessant, må vel revurdere mine påstander og undersøke litt nærmere den derre jakka der da... Har den nye jakka strammemuligheter lik den du mekka? Eller er den kun oppblåsbar? Vi prates i juni! Andreas B
  7. This tracking derby isnt really fair in my opinion, if one wants to break the record just jump in a very strong tailwind and it will give you extra miles for sure! Jumping in head or tail wind has a lot to say since the distance is measured realtive to the ground and not the actuall distance flown relative to the wind.. I did 2,5 km in a standup track, with strong tailwind.. Peace
  8. Really, I jumped with you this summer while you were wearing a regular jacket with cords in them VKB style... You both made and jumped them as far as I recall.. And in combination with a standard phoenix pant the setup made you fly pretty far didnt it? I agree that the phoenix pants works well, and I know people who track really good in them, but the jacket is a dead end in my opinion.. not very aerodynamicly shaped is it? Which fly better; two arm-wings or two arm-tubes...? The question is really what kind of flying one is interested in; Stalling and floating or speed and controll. I know what I prefer after jumping many differrent types of setups.. In difficult terrain.. Take care, Andreas B
  9. OK, Lets invite every man who can bare the hike and who has a rig and some sort of wings, and just throw them of the exit of Hårstadnebba and Langrabbpiggen. Im willing to share, if you pick up the pieces... When it comes to the suits, we have posted MANY treads about that, in DETAIL! What we are working on now will be shared in various forms in the future, so be patient. Meanwhile ask Robi or Jari if he could post the blueprints of every suit he has made or is thinking about, and go get those made at a sewer for nothing. I think they will.. not.. People who would like to jump amazing places should by now know who to get in touch with to go there. There is something called maps, internet, etc. So if one really wanted to jump amazing places, one would find them.. The dilemma here is that we as well would like to get a dollar or two for the work done here, so letting go of the "secrets" now, before we can offer them to you, and before things are protected, is not going to happen. I hope there is a understanding for that. And If I was a millionaire already, I would gladly come up with new designs of equipment and share with the world for free. But money makes the world go round (and sick) Cant we just all get a long? Sit around the campfire smoking the good stuff, drinking Karsk and with a nice shemale by our side? Discussing new designs and sharing ideas while being under the influence would make some radical designs come up for sure..
  10. I can understand that people who only jump planes are happy with their suits, because there are good suits out there. Far from great, but good. And soaring around the skies with your friends, playing, is what matters most in that arena I agree. But when you fly where there is more to fly by, more to pass, and where the speed is very noticeable, then you want to go faster and faster.. When you love to go headdown after exit, love the weightless feeling you get when your angle of attack is 0.. When you love to feel that the speed is creating most of the lift, not the drag... when you can fly like hell, fast and flat with a minimum of wings.. And when you know that it is you who has made it, for a lot less money then other wings cost, when you know the wing you fly is unique, on of a kind, and you feel special because you dont wear what every fat american does.. (joke) And when you smile when people ask what the secrets are, and wants you to shear it with them what you know, thinking we have invented or discovered something unique and new, when a search on Google for "Aerodynamics" is all they need to do. There you`ll find our "secrets" and the reason we try to make something new. Because we feel whats out there today is not as good as it gets. When one can make a rig, a suit, etc. as good as it gets, when we have passed the 300 km/h horizontal speed barrier, then the R&D has reached its max, then we have fully used the potential of human flight and then the equipment has evolved from the cradle we are in today! Not just talking about suits here.. For us to just give away everything we`ve found out and tested and worked with for a long time, to people in forums who just"bla bla bla", who hasnt contributed and cared to try to learn and understand the element they play in, is not going to happen, sorry.. You show me, I show you.. And giving away good ideas in forums where copycats can snap it up before we have protected the designs from people just like that, is not very smart... Both Robi and NickNitro have posted what every man or woman creating/designing suits and equipment has to deal with, and you cant argue with physics, so thats what one has to work with, understand, and try to find solutions according too, in order to take it further. And yes, the pilot is VERY important, sometimes people are discussing suits and performance like they are passengers, and like the suit flies every man at this and that angle, velocity, etc. when it very much is up to the pilot how YOU fly WEARING the suit.. Take care
  11. Let me tell you that some very exiting things are being made here in Karskland... Groundbreaking stuff.. If one wants to have the best, one has to make it him self.. When you think that there is a lot to improve in wingsuit designs, make your own.. When you think the rig you wear looks like a brick, and makes you fly like one, make your own.. When you need to look cool on the exit or at the dz, and there is no helmets out there with the shape your after, make your own... I hope more people out there start designing and making gear they have dreamt about! Because it will take a long time bfore any of the known brands will push the limit as far ass we need to really fly! Together we can make man fly faster and further than ever before. Pictures will come soon.. Take care , Andreas VKB #12
  12. Hi guys, Check out my new speed suit! I used the body of an old classic 1 and made smoother smaller, thus faster wings on it. (based on VKBs own R&D department) Changed the air inlets and made a neopren front with dobbel zippers. Havent tried it yet, to much winter here, but cant wait to go superterminal with it! Gps data is coming after the first flights. Take care, Andreas VKB#12
  13. For sub terminal and small terminal walls, the best choice would be lots of drag: wingsuit and phoenix pants etc. We are just super lucky to have walls where we can go steep and build speed for 500-600 feet or more..
  14. Using the pants of the prodigy or the matter setup, gives you drag and therefore lift. Some of us have tried wearing those type of pants with our own jackets, (the ones with rope from thumb to thumb) and it works ok, but not near as good as the home made. Because the pants are just to big, creating to much drag to go "superterminal" It is a well balanced setup, but I could imagine that with just a regular jacket you will go to steep, and would have to control it with wider arms. The jumper filming the 3 way in " Virtus" at 02:50 is wearing this setup and he is starting to fly earlier the the others, but dont have a chance in keeping up the speed of me and Espen. And the speed is whats making us fly.. I would recommend that since you already have a phoenix setup, put ropes in them, stretching and fixing the arms and legs, like seen on Espen in the same clip. Pause it just after the exit, and youll see. He`s been wearing that setup for two years, and its just a sporting 0-p jacket and regular hiking pants with ropes/bungee in them, and has been the nr. one tracker here for a long time, but he got out flown and "gave up" the tracking, and started to fly wingsuits again, and is now nr. one there..(Well after Loic of course..)
  15. He got a sore ass... Still jumping.. Wingsuits, swooping trees and rocks..
  16. A lot could be done to improve the wingsuits.. Better airfoiled designed rigs, surface of the materiale, stiffer wings-carbon laminated armwings giving a lot more efficient wings with the same size as today. Thinner wings? Better balanced suits-more speed.. stiffeners/plastic sheets tightening the upper and lower layer of the wing (tried it, works well..) Integrate the rig in the suit, spreading the pack from neck to below the ass. Packing it wider. (This suit is being made as we speak, and with carbon laminated wings..) Read your aerodynamics boys and girls, all the answers is right there. Think for your selfs, dont let a few guys at the leading companies be the ones to "rule the world" with their, no offense, limited insight in human flight. We have proved them wrong in tracking suits and techniqes, and will do the same with the overprized and oversized wingsuits Living la vida loca brothers and sisters, Peace out

    Phi

Recived my Phi last week, but sadly had to ship it back to get a smaller size.. Anyway, the armwings being as big as they are, has anyone experienced any difficulties during the pull? Wing between hand and hackey? Peace out..
  19. Range? If your looking for range just start hanggliding or by a sailplane... With them monstersuits big as sails your starting to look like some anyway.. Well i guess is really funny to float from a to b as slow as possible playing "stall wars".. Ok, enough bullshit from me, people like different flyingstyles, and I guess thats ok! Adios, WeflyUcanhardlymoveforward...
  20. Glad we speak the same language Professor, and it is Espen going crazy in the mountains again yes... Peace out..
  21. Wake up! Whats this talk about flat tracking and all? Flat is out, flat is slow and wrong! My advise is, regardles of if your tracking or in a wingsuit, speed is the key! Double the speed and you quadruple the lift! flat=stalling, steep=speed and lift The day can learn that and fly with straight legs and steeper and in formation, then you will fly insted of stalling around the skies Learn from the freeflyers, look at their tracking jumps. Why do you think they track like they do instead of flat? Speed is controll... http://www.tollmuth.com/html/video/baseteaser.mpg Watch and learn..
