Are they discontinuing the 1000 too? I read somewhere that Sony was introducing a new HD camera. Story said it was less expensive, about $1200 MSRP, and smaller than the HD-1 (or whatever the nomenclature is on the current HD camera). Has anyone seen the new one? Actually, the military gave me more responsibility at 22 than most people have their entire life. We're past the Napoleonic era now. Soldiers are smart, well educated, and are expected to make extremely important decisions in extremely stressfull situations on a daily basis. Don't denigrate them. To ExtremeWade: be careful when getting out of the military. A job that pays equal or slightly higher than what your are getting now will give you less money in the long run. I found this out the hard way. After you pay for all of the benefits you are getting for free in the military, you will see the pay check dwindle. Also, you'll never be as close to a group of people as you are to your buddies in the military. No civilian jobs are comparable. Upside to getting out: you're life will be more stable. You're work hours will be shorter but you'll get less days off (good and bad). You can get fat and out of shape and nobody will care but yourself. A camera helmet would increase the chances of an entanglement between the helmet and the reserve during an unstable deployment. Worth thinking about. Stay away from Pinnacle Studio version 10 for now. Stick with version 9 if you decide to use Studio. Version 10 is so unstable and has so many bugs that it is virtually unusable. I have basically trashed mine after using Pinnacle 7-9 for the last six years. Check the Pinnacle Studio 10 forum if you don't believe me. Yeah, that is definitely an issue, although it also allows the helmet to be very low profile, which I also like. Do you know how comfortable the Sky Pimp is compared to the FF2 and the RAWA? I've tried on a RAWA and it was amazingly comfortable. I haven't tried on a FF2 or a Sky Pimp. I'm trying to decide on which one of the three I should buy. I've got an e-mail out to them. I'll let you know when they reply. From the ones that I have seen (total of 2) the camera is only held in place by the door. So this isn't really a problem.
