So let's keep hanging those niggers from a tree if they decide to raise their voice. Burning crosses are a plus!

On a different, but related trajectory... I think it is reasonable to classify the US as a fascist state. Arguably the US meets all 14 criteria as set forth by political scientists. Bin Laden WON! Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt recently wrote an article about fascism ("Fascism Anyone?," Free Inquiry, Spring 2003, page 20). Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile), Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism. The excerpt is in accordance with the magazine's policy. The 14 characteristics are: Powerful and Continuing Nationalism Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. Supremacy of the Military Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized. Rampant Sexism The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy. Controlled Mass Media Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common. Obsession with National Security Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses. Religion and Government are Intertwined Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions. Corporate Power is Protected The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite. Labor Power is Suppressed Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed . Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts. Obsession with Crime and Punishment Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders. Fraudulent Elections Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Any concentration camp in Nazi Germany would have been proud of you and your worldview. You could have made memorable contributions... Disgusting!

Girl, just let it rest. You will never convince these all-American blowheads. Reminds me of when I was hitch-hiking all across the US thirty years ago. Hung out w/ hobos, homeless, etc., at truck stops. They didn't have a dime in their pocket or a roof over their head. But they all were eager to tell me, "I am an American." I guess if there is nothing left in ones life, that is all there is... The differences you mentioned, they are as per your personal idea/impression/experience?? I do not see many differences, and what you call 'culture' has another word in my book: Guns. If *you*'re on this side of the law or the other: Availability of guns makes the difference. Since the EU opened so many borders, we have lots of own new problems to handle. Racism is not the big deal; many of immigrans are well educated, many are not and we have to take over that burden. We do not clear that with guns. Southern countries of the EU take over thousands of immigrants coming by boat over the Mediterranian sea from Africa. They are not welcome, believe me. But nobody is taking a gun to solve the problems coming along with them. Guns in the US and their easy availability - that's the difference ....

And so the US is that exceptional that nothing else in the world compares. That it can't learn or take a hint from best practices of over countries. That's exactly the mindset that will do this country in!!! Because the world around us is adapting at a rapid clip. Much more rapidly than the US. They don't feel beholden to a 200-year old document (aka constitution), or a 2,000-year old fairy book (aka bible).

http://rt.com/usa/us-germany-85-shots-022/ 85 shots: Us cops use more ammo per man than Germans per year Case closed. What do you fucking want 100% accuracy? Me too, that's not gonna happen when humans are involved against other humans who have been taught to be thugs, and resist officers. On the other side you dont always catch the crazy cops that have been around a while, or the new cop that made a mistake on his first high risk high stress situation. Is just not gonna happen period. Its the culture, the times, the country, the nature of what your asking. Your entire post is BS. We are talking about human life. Wait until you or your family are/is involved. You will change your mind in an instance.

Quite a while ago... They have a morphed into para-military occupying force. Because Americans allowed it to happen.

My advice assuming that you are residing in Russia. Just ignore the bill, and be done with it. The US healthcare system is the real fraud; not your unwillingness to pay $1,000 for a diagnostic procedure that is billed at $50 almost anywhere else in the world. hmm, yes :) I thought this is over when I paid my bill upfront. I still considering to send this mail to a trash can, so I am not THAT honest. But, generally I am law-abiding and do not feel good about making a fraud. But in this particular case, it seems that the fraud was on me - maybe this not a fraud, but they are definitly used the fact that I am a forigner, my English is far from perfect and I do not have any idea about the healthcare system and the way it works there.

So you are saying the average NFL soccer player has a 10-ft force field around them? Making them impervious to any physical contact? Interesting! I didn't know that. Thanks for educating me. Apples and Oranges. Have your average soccer player get within 10 feet of an average NFL tackle and they'll be crying, moaning and twisting on the ground as if they'd been actually contacted or something.

Could we please go back to the World Cup. And leave any American Football/ Basketball/ Baseball insights behind. They don't matter! Chile : Spain. 2:0. NOW that matters!!!! And that on average every player on the field runs about 6 mi. While maintaing control of the ball. Have your average, 250 lbs NFL player run 6 mi in 90 min., and you can carry them to the ICU 30 min into it.

Not everything/body has a self-serving, self-enriching agenda in this world. Sometimes people just try to find/report/analyze the truth. For example, physical scientists do it all the time; the laws of nature do not bow to "agendas." "The Atlantic is an American magazine, founded in 1857 as The Atlantic Monthly in Boston, Massachusetts, now based in Washington, D.C. It was created as a literary and cultural commentary magazine and quickly achieved a national reputation as a high-quality review with a moderate worldview[2]—a reputation it has maintained for over 150 years. The magazine has notably recognized and published new writers and poets, as well as encouraged major careers. It has also published leading writers' commentary on abolition, education, and other major issues in contemporary political affairs. The magazine has won more National Magazine Awards than any other monthly magazine.[3] After experiencing financial hardship and a series of ownership changes, the magazine was reformatted as a general editorial magazine. Focusing on "foreign affairs, politics, and the economy [as well as] cultural trends", it is now primarily aimed at a target audience of serious national readers and "thought leaders"." Wiki.

This needs its own thread. Of course, I understand that it is not your typical American sport. Two minutes of play, followed by 10 minutes of ump-ta-ta and commercials, and then another two minutes of play. Scores don't come out to 157:90 either. But US : Ghana was 2:1. And more than 4B people on the planet follow it. :)

You seem to be getting it! Leave ppl that are 10,000 mi away alone. They live their lifes, we live ours! Also refrain from sending bombs or drones inscribed "From the USA w/ love." On wedding parties, or to kill children (even if later classified as coincidental casualties.) IT IS THAT SIMPLE! P.S.: I don't recall any Muslims or Iraqi ever having landed on American shores, as the US has invaded other, sovereign countries!!! Maybe he really can make this shit up! To me, from what I've seen on the news and read about that part of the world, those people have been going at it for centuries. I think, they are just looking for all the money the USA will pour into those countries to get them to stop. We were already there for what, 10 yrs.? We no more than pulled out and they started right up again. I think, we should just stay the hell away. They don't want our 'democracy' because it disagrees with their thinking. Same with Afghanistan. Who made us the 'world police', anyhow? Why do we keep going where we aren't wanted? Doesn't make sense and just a waste of money we don't have. Chuck

The link that I posted no longer retrieves the original NYT article. Sorry to say, but Manning got it alright in his Op-Ed piece, http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/15/opinion/sunday/chelsea-manning-the-us-militarys-campaign-against-media-freedom.html?partner=rssnyt&emc=rss Other than that, there is always russiatoday.com. It is no better or worse than the finest US reporting. There is something hokey with the link - if you google that sentence it comes up with a number of places where the original title is quoted. Looks like the NYT may have retracted the article. An example.... http://dailyme.com/story/2014061500002070/republicans-press-obama-to-move-swiftly-to-halt-extremists-advances-in-iraq

Well, how aggressive is blowing up wedding parties by remote-controlled drones? Or starting a war under false pre-tense? Point is. What the Iraqis do to each other is no concern of ours. Let them figure it out. However, you can be assured that if the US gets involved. Sunnis and Shias will unite in a flash against the American invaders. Nothing better than a foreign invader to stop the in-fighting and unite people towards a common cause!

First the Americans break it! Like they have broken everything since WW2. I mean, there is not a populace in this world that likes Americans; or more correctly, the pompous, arrogant politics of their elected leaders. Heck, even Europeans hate their guts... Now. Americans are finally withdrawing from lands where they should have never been. And the Republicans still haven't learned the lessons. After Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., etc. How about if these pompous assholes get their butts over to Mosul right away!! We have no business in that part of the world. And I never felt threatened by Iraqis, ISIS, etc.

This is from NY Times. Now, who would have ever thought that the NRA is a hard-core conservative, white movement??? I am shocked to learn that Blacks and Latinos are facing difficulties. /sarcasm off/ P.S.: Next thing we will learn is that the KKK doesn't like to admit Negroes to its membership. Minority Gun Owners Face Balancing Act By TANZINA VEGA 2:10 PM ET Minority gun owners may find themselves trying to balance the practical pros and cons of gun ownership with the hard-core conservatism of the N.R.A. -

To get you and everyone else thinking. And communicating. -
There is a school of thought called Ordoliberalism, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordoliberalism. It's been implemented to great success in Germany. 80M Germans export almost as much as 300M US Americans. Or almost 50% as 1B+ underpaid Chinese factory slaves.

You mean the same kind of police that threw a flash grenade into a child's playpen at night here in Georgia? Real upstanding and trustworthy public servants. Those guys and their ilk calling someone a hero makes it immediately suspicious. -

YOU and your response is what is is wrong with America! P.S.: And that's why the USA will not exist as we know it even 20 yrs from now. There is no societal cohesion, no common values post 9/11. Bin Laden won!!! P.S.: 9/11 has changed this country of ours in innumerable ways. So much so, that if your were to transport a person from pre-9/11 to today. They wouldn't recognize the place. -

Just a personal story. When I was a young 30 yr old, fighter, martial arts. Had this 15-yr old kid. Challenging me every which way when sparring. In the locker he showed off his gun. A 15-year old!. That was in, maybe, 1992. Next day, we learned that he killed himself cleaning it! Right thru the head. A 15-year old! What a loss!! -
