  1. Another "sanitized" threat... He was an asshole! Certifiably! And that's after my wife (AFFI, TI, Rigger) and I (TI, Rigger) welcomed him at SDA. What a Snake!!! He turned on everyone (staff), for his own gains...
  2. Let them eat cake!! If they can't afford to move to a major airline hub, they are undeserving of any government hand-outs. Looseers, tramps, hobos. Who needs them anyways???? P.S.: A message courtesy of the Tea Party.
  3. It's called chutzpah... Like in,"Son kills both of his parents. Appearing in front of the judge, he asks for mercy. Because he is an orphan!" Got it? I don't think so. But that's ok too.....
  4. This response is not directed at you, BV. But I can only conclude that the common worker is the common worker's most belligerent enemy in the US. The Koch brothers and other ultra-radical billionaires have won!!!! I am out of this fucking country as soon as I can. Enjoy your future London-style riots!!! W/o health-care or safety net!! And as far as IKEA goes: they are a socially responsible company, unless the employees have no social compass at all!! Like the workers in the US!!!!!
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IKEA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldi And I don't even want to talk about the Indian or Chinese heavyweights... Suffice it to say that Aldi prevented Walmart from getting any foot-hold in Continental Europe. Walmart exited some three years ago w/ their tail thoroughly up their ass.
  6. BV. You are loosing it!!!!! IKEA has the MOST appealing design, at the MOST appealing price point! Customers love it, the founder loves it, and the founder has no problems w/ unionization either. Because ultimately we are all in this together! Check out and learn about ALDI and TRADER JOE. Same story, same lesson from the Socialist Countries of Europe. You are so far behind the curve....
  7. And your comment is SO neo-American... Suffice it to say that IKEA was founded by a Swede (socialist country, anyone?), who consistently ranks among the #1 or 2 of wealth in the world. What a sad state of affairs for this country, if even liberals like you consider unionization an enemy...
  8. Just like the US elite forces have a preponderance for striking children, weddings in progress, etc... Very elite! The Taliban fired the proverbial "Golden BB" and happened to strike an aircraft full of US SEALs. It was bound to eventually happen if the war went on long enough, but it's not exactly like it was testimony to elite fighting skill.
  9. I'd say that the Taliban elite fighters are better than the US elite fighters. And ultimately, the US Nintendo/X-Box warriors will leave...
  10. (i) TM w/ 40 jumps, first-time out of a tailgate w/ a girl weighing less than 90 lbs. Ended up on our backs, side spin... (ii) 10-way FF sit-jump w/ an asshole who had no control of his HD. Trying to close-in he zoomed by me from behind at 30-40 mph, within less than 5 feet separation at equal level. Never had a chance to see him coming. (ii) was actually a major contributing experience in hanging up the rig about a year later. Too many idiots out there these days! It's a different generation and game...
  11. 1,500 ft. Because of heavy cloud cover, the plane did only make it to 1,600 ft. Even a C182 gets to THAT altitude fast! But note that exiting at 1,600 ft and beginning to accelerate is a whole different beast than falling thru 1,600 ft at terminal velocity!
  12. YAWN...incandescent light bulbs, banned throughout the EU, are now being marketed, legally, as personal heaters. John Rich...very Rich! As always, you are kinda late, like a year behind, to any story. Or as your personal hero would have put it: YOU ARE FIRED!
  13. And they paid how many $$$ for their four-year education? With a commencement speech by your local barber! Only in America...!!!!
  14. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Even to this day, many Europeans' view of the US is, rightfully, influenced by the plight of Sacco and Vanzetti. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacco_and_Vanzetti http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcgYwTnBIIQ&fmt=22 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0sYAU96FY0&feature=related&fmt=22 a whole bunch of people who stylize themselves as liebertarians..are closer to being anarchists than they are to anything else.
  15. Just another reason to leave this country behind. (And thanks, I have a PhD in chemistry and an MBA from a well-known Institute of Technology.) I am trying to get my family away from the lunatics (cf. tea party, republicans, etc. etc.) as fast as I can. Thank God, we have the option to relocate to another 27 countries w/o paperwork. Best wishes to my fellow Americans who lack the option to ever leave the asylum...
  16. What better snapshot of life in the great US of A in 2011!!
  17. Compared to Ted Strong and, for example, Bill Booth most of us are just travelers passing thru the world of skydiving. Whether it be for 5, 10 years and 1,000 or 2,000 jumps! Here comes an Angst-ridden kid, and you got your panties all bunched-up in a heartbeat? HORSESHIT! The "kid" you mentioned put out a not inconsiderable amount of dough and effort getting his rating. If he, like he claims, has had numorous promises out of SE to solve the problem and it remains unsolved as the season approaches, then he is right to be worried. Airing it here seems to have done the trick.
  18. Anybody who has ever interacted w/ Ted; there is no doubt in anyones mind about the integrity of Strong! The only thing that's wrong these days, is kids like the ANGST poster entering the sport. That's what's wrong!! BTW - If Marty says he'll fix it by Friday, I expect you'll have it fixed by Friday. I've known Marty for a long long time, and he's not going to bs you. So, make sure he has what he needs, and he'll surely take good care of you. Of course, if the problem is that the CD dropped the ball, there could still be limits on what MJ can do.
  19. Shamelessly copied.... "In publishing the Communist Manifesto in 1848 Karl Marx and Frederich Engels declared that 'the history of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggle. With all due respect to Marx and Engels, this was not exactly 'news.' More than three centuries before Christ, the great Athenian philosopher Plato in his dialogue The Republic observed that 'all cities' (i.e. all societies') 'are divided into two, one the society of the poor, the other of the rich; these are at war with one another.' Republic IV. Plato's student, Aristotle, in his book The Politics stated that 'it is manifest that the best political community is formed by citizens of the middle class, and those states are likely to be well-administered in which the middle class is larger, and stronger, if possible, than both other classes.' The Politics, Book IV. Ch. 11. More recently. the multi-billionaire investor George Soros has said: "...the greatest threat to freedom today comes from the formation of an unholy alliance between government and business. This is not a new phenomenon. It used to be called fascism. The outward appearances of the democratic process are observed, but the powers of the state are diverted to the benefit of private interests (i.e. corporations)' Finally, the great Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, in the depths of the great Depression, stated: 'We can have a democratic society or we can have great concentrated wealth in the hands of the few. We cannot have both.' I have nothing to add to these comments."
  20. Obv they got an irrefutable point... At least MiargeSys thinks so! French riggers caused the the Cypres change to Mirage rigs Asshats
  21. At least they know cheese. Not like WI Cheddar sharp, medium as the only choices in an adult life.
  22. So we know that Sarkozy and the French forces actually took the initiative in dealing w/ Qaddafi/ Libya. And in skydiving (and many other "extreme sports"), French participants have always pushed the envelope. Much more so than US-Americans. Any more talk about "surrender monkeys" on this forum? If so, speak up now. P.S. John Rich. enRICH me w/ your unique insight!
  23. It's SOLELY fueled by the US, both in money and guns. Maybe that's why it needs to be seen more North of the border??? P.S.: Msg me for the removed link. Life is pretty brutal everywhere on occassion. What's the point, there is a correlation between extreme acts of violence and poverty? Don't need to see someones head cut off to understand that.
  24. John, why are you always around the corner with nothing substantial to add?
  25. It was not for shock value. But it is shocking. I am comfortably sitting behind my computer, drink in hand. I am living in a first-world country. But then, I also have frequent interactions in third-world countries. Life is brutal there on occasion. I think you may be overstating the importance of the video to the discussion. I'm fairly certain a discussion can take place without the video being linked in an almost ambush way here for shock value.
