  1. It would be if it weren't artistcalledian making time while he's banned from the Bonfire. rl Well thats fairly obvious. Hes good at what he does though, i'll give him that. Don't be so bitter. Hes just having a laugh.
  2. Its the langar guy right? The one whos been causing all the controversy and upset recently.
  3. what does it look like on your head? is it big? Lets see a pic.
  4. In my opinion, nothing a stranger says to you or anybody else on the internet is worth getting upset about. Think that the person is a twat by all means but don't take any of it to heart. At the end of the day you'd probably be mates anyway if you shared the same DZ.
  5. I agree, but thats missing my point a little. Why would someones quality of life be any lower just because they don't die in a skydiving accident? The alternative isnt necessarily bad. Maybe they just go on living life as per normal.
  6. You just sold that canopy on ebay right, I thought I recognised that!

Theres a room with three normal light bulbs in it (bulbs A,B and C), down a corridoor is another room in which there are 3 switches (Switches 1,2 and 3). . How could you tell which switch operates which bulb only travelling between the rooms one time?
  8. Even if it was a hospital room 60, 40 or even 10 years from now? I dont mean to be insensitive but in my opinion the "died doing something they loved" tag is more for the benefit of those left behind.
  9. I dont believe that people who die skydiving, die doing something they loved. Unless of course, they love falling to their deaths wrapped in their reserve or whatever the problem happens to be. It is a nice thought but unfortunately its probably rare that someone dies whilst they are enjoying themselves.
  10. My socks used to dissapear all the time and I had to buy a new pack about every month to keep myself going between washes. I guess they must have stopped vanishing at some point without me realising though because now I have so many socks they wont all fit in my sock drawer.
  11. Aren't rounds safer yet less cool than square canopies? Ripcords are probably more freefly friendly than throw aways. Its the same with anything though isnt it. And im sure skydiving has a lot fewer deaths and injuries related to "wanting to look cool" than many other sports/activities. Also, I wouldnt put long swoops under the "wanting to look cool" label. Isnt it a dicipline in itself? If thinner lines and colapsable pilot chutes improve performance then they are improvements. Anyone know of any deaths or injuries caused by mini rings?
  12. Theres a DZ in Thailand. You may have to save your skydiving for vacation.
  13. check out www.gearguys.com they have that helmet for $66 with free shipping.
  14. OK....thanks for your reply but would you care to share those flaws with me? the thing on the back is a rubber goggle holder and is removable. (if thats one of the two things.) Also, what do you get from a $300 skydiving helmet that a $50 pro tec or $75 ski helmet doesnt provide?
  15. I just got my A licence and am now looking at starting to get some gear together. Sky diving helmets are to be fair, a total rip off. I've got my eye on this: http://www.sportcatalog.ru/i/product/82/m/782689.jpg Anyone got any experience with this kind of thing?
  16. Anyone know why they always twist up in the same direction?
  17. Im currently working for a DZ as pilot and Club kit packer and am in the middle of my AFF training. The AFF rigs are a PD340, Manta 280's and a Balance 260. I've used the PD340 and both Mantas and of the 4 openings i've experienced, 3 have left me in pain for at least 2 days. I had an out of sequence opening on the PD340 which was fully open before it was inflated but the Mantas have just opened fast. We are told that we must flat pack all student canopies and im just wondering what the general opinion on this is. Is flat packing AFF rigs so much safer that its worth the toll that its taking on the bodies of the students who have to use them?
