  1. Trying to make a joke about cracking hydrocarbons getting significantly harsher sentences than straight hydrocarbons, but can’t figure out how to stick the landing.
  2. Are we talking about the fate of the species, or just ‘Murica?
  3. Classic Brent….random chart posted, mike dropped
  4. Sorry man, that sounds rough. Was it a matter of a company trying to jump into the industry to make a buck and they got over their heads?
  5. I believe that Jerry (and Jerry, please correct me if I’m putting words in your mouth) was referring to how people reacted to the TP shortage and the levels of generosity that we may expect to be prevalent when oil comes into short supply.
  6. At least the current administration has taken a hint and is incentivizing domestic IC production. It’s an endeavor that’s gonna take billions of $$$ and several years to bear fruit, but there’s no time like the present to start. Not to suggest that this will solve all our problems, but at least it’s taking some steps to reduce reliability on Asia. One thing I don’t understand, wafer fabs are ridiculously water intensive but for some reason Arizona is a target for them
  7. I know you've got the brain power to understand the point that you're willfully ignoring here. I'm just wondering if you're doing this because YOU need to believe it so badly that you ignore reality, or is it just trolling for the sake of trolling? Not that I'm expecting an honest answer from you, just the thoughts that pass through my head when I'm L@@King out the window on a Sunday afternoon.
  8. Yeah Slim, we get it. She's got COVID. Her being up to date on vaccines likely made for a less severe case than it otherwise could have been. In March of 2021 she said that the data suggests that vaccines prevent infection and spread. Are you unable to understand how that's different from the shocking, lying proclamation!!! that only a few websites are talking about?
  9. Did you bother to look up her complete quote, before it was modified to make it look like she was lying? Are you aware that you’re spreading lies from far right fringe sites and just don’t care, or are you being duped by their bs?
  10. Well, at least we agree that realclimatescience.com is the place to go for the latest in junk science...
  11. Things not learned by Slim during his vacation: - How to spell the word 'Look' - That rumble.com is a far-right clickbait site that nobody with critical thinking skills will ever take seriously
  12. You just never tire of posting quotes without providing a source, do you...
  13. TwitterCon doesn’t really roll off the tongue. What about ‘Truth Social’?
  14. I can't claim to know anything about refining either: my tiny niche of the big picture is far upstream from there.
  15. All this talk about the Saudis reducing production and it jacking up prices...it's easy to forget, since a lot has happened since then, but in 2019 the Saudis were turning on the taps and driving the price of oil into the basement which was really squeezing US O&G operations. Horizontal completions (fracking and pump downs) require somewhere in the ballpark of $55 oil to break even and the Saudis were driving the price down right about that point. It was cheap to fill your tank but the US O&G industry was hurting pretty badly and there were a lot of layoffs going around. https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=42415 Towards the end of 2019 into early 2020 things started to pick up and we collectively started to breath a sigh of relief with the wind at our backs, and everything turned out just fine....... Anyway, I guess the moral is that it might be nice to not be so dependant on an energy source that's price can be so easily manipulated by our frienemies in Saudi.

Not always....Sometimes they post links to thegatewaypundit.com or rumble.com.
  17. Please frack harder.......for the babies. FFS, you have no fucking clue and your entertainment value is past spent
  18. That's a pretty simplistic way to look at the situation. There are a lot of reasons why Europe will never be fracking 'as much as they can'. Places with much looser regulations that are trying to make a go at the horizontal shale plays, like Vaca Muerta in Argentina, are having a damn rough go of it. Frack operations have insane amounts of equipment and personnel on a frack pad compared to traditional vertical completions of old. It's impressive to see things moving like clockwork on a zipper pad, where they'll drill wells out in several different directions and have different crews performing different stages of the completion on different wells at the same time, in order to keep as much of the equipment on pad active at any given moment. When things go bad, they go bad quickly with failures suddenly causing all of those people and equipment to be costing money instead of making it. When you require $55 oil to break even and you don't have your shit together, losing half a day because of a broken blender or wireline getting stuck in hole gets real expensive real quick. The US shale revolution took off when VC firms poured ridiculous sums of money into the industry for years and years while the expertise and efficiency was built up. Many of those firms lost their shirts when the bottom fell out of the market. Today, with lots of idle equipment and $93 oil, it can chug along and make a buck. Starting from scratch in a country with tighter environmental restrictions, higher labor costs, lack of available equipment, lack of investment $$ and lack of expertise is just not gonna happen. You can repeat what Fox tells you that all of Europe's cold winter woes are due to them being stupid green sissies, but the reality is that fracking's not the magic bullet they're painting it as. As I'm about to start field testing a system used for frack operations, I hope I'm wrong....it'd be good to have another market. I hit up a buddy in Argentina to get a feel for how things are going in Vaca Muerta last week, and he said their annual operations amount to a shitty month's worth of work in West TX.
  19. Damn what was in that math book!?!?!?!?! It's getting bad with this book BS. My wife manages a library in a conservative TX town and a couple times a week she's got some nut job in demanding answers. Almost as often as it's a far-right nut job demanding to see the filth they're trying to force on the children, it's a far-left nut job demanding to see the titles that have been pulled from the shelves due to censorship. My wife can hold her own with just about anybody, but most librarians didn't get into the biz to be yelled at by asshats.
