  1. hey yoshi, the next meet is at gladewater on july 10th. since the meet at dallas has been cancelled i am going to the casa boogie at eagle flight that same weekend. there is a hidden texas cpc forum on canopypiloting.com for texas cpc members and judges. that is the more appropriate place for this discussion. most everybody in the loop should be able to view that forum now. however i still need usernames for aggiedave and jason lemley.

  4. Thanks Todd. I really appreaciate Aggieland hosting these events and we will definetly have more there in the future. If not again this year, next year for sure. I look forward to seeing you at the rest of the meets and finishing in the top 10 at the Championships. Ian, here's the scores for our meet. Sorry for the delay, but after seeing Todd's compliment I didn't really want to post this but I have to. There has been another slight error in the judging. On the first speed round Tim's canopy touched the ground. Our head judge in training made note of the fault but forgot to change his time to a 10. The error does change the competitor rank in speed and overall, but only on th bottom end. The difference between the fault time and the actual time was only 1.7 seconds. It's interesting to see what
  5. [reluctantly] yes [/reluctantly] i would have posted them with the ranks but that meant posting my scores as well. i'll get them up shortly

  7. This Sunday, June, 5th at Skydive Aggieland. Registration thru 9:00 a.m. Competition starts at 10:00 a.m. The distance course will be set up Saturday for practice. Remember if you weren't at the first meet and you're not at this meet you will not be eligible to advance to the Championships in September at Mile-Hi. Looking forward to another great meet. Cya there!
  8. there has been a judging error in the results from our first meet. i was told a vertical extension on the entry gate was an incomplete and that ranking order in the speed event was done in brackets for vertical extension. turns out thas was the old system and in the new system a vertical extension is a fault receiving the worst possible score. after implenting the new system the results are as follows... speed: 1. Yoshi 2. Levin 3. Todd 4. Brittany 5. AggieDave 6. Katrina overall: 1. Todd 2. Yoshi 3. Levin 4. Brittany 5. Katrina 6. AggieDave
  9. for accuracy the judges eyeballed gates 2 - 4. for speed we referrance the primary and/or backup judging cameras.
  10. our 1st cpc meet in texas was won with a xf2
  11. that's my birthday, except i came a decade later i'm trademarking "March 12". from now on Olav owes me $2 everytime he has a birthday
  12. yah, except ours was a ground comp
  13. hey jeff, the pics look fine. thanks for posting them.
  14. your only penalized for them in speed, but in accuracy if you vertical gates 2 - 4 you don't get the points for them.
  15. actually the winds had died down to almost nothing for the speed rounds. Just before the accuracy rounds the wind was blowing some of the blades off the poles.
  16. yes, we had judges watching for verticals in speed and zone accuracy. we had a digital camcorder set up on a tripod in the bed of a truck videoing the top of the 10' entry gates.
  17. Thanks Ramon! We missed ya at the 1st meet. Hope to see ya at the next one.
  18. Thanks to everyone that came out for our first CPC meet. Special thanks to Haylee, Daniel, Amanduh, Jeff (Brains) Darrel and Jason for helping with judging and setting the courses up. I couldn't have gotten it done without yall. Thanks to Aggieland for hosting this on such short notice. We had 7 competitors register for the first meet. We had 8-14mph winds throughout most of the day. Many of the compettors got hosed in the distance and zone accuracy events. Fortunately the winds died down to 0mph for the speed round. The results from the meet are as follows... DISTANCE: 1. Todd Spillers - 236' 8" + V = 236' 8" 2. Levin Jackson - 137' 1" + 80' 3" = 217' 4" 3. Kevin "Yoshi" Yasuda - V + 204' 5" = 204' 5" 4. Bryan Moffett (IMRG2) - 169' 5" + V = 169' 5" 5. Brittany Sanchez (Brits17) - 100' 2" + 39' 5" = 139' 7" 6. Katrina Autry - V + 2' 3" = 2' 3" 7. Dave Lund (AggieDave) - V + V = NS ZONE ACCURACY (L = Lines, Z = Zones, T = Total) 1. Todd - (R1) L60 + Z24, (R2) V = T84 2. Yoshi - (R1) L60 + Z9, (R2) L31 + Z0 = T69 3. Cyall again at Aggieland for meet #2 June 5th. Just a reminder, if you weren't at this meet and you aren't at the next meet you will not be eligible to advance to the CPC Championships. Requirement is 4/5 meets. June 5th - Aggieland June 26th - Dallas July 10th - Lake Gladewater August 21 - Spaceland September 12 - 18 - CPC Championships - Mile High, Denver, CO edit = typos
  19. A practice course will be set up for Saturday. Registration will be 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. Meeting around 10:15 or 10:30. We'll start the comp at 11:00 a.m. This will give anyone that shows up at SDH time to get to Aggieland as well as the guys coming from Spaceland. Again, sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused. Cyall at Aggieland this weekend!!
  20. i was originally expecting 12 - 14 but then skydive houston lost 6 of their 8 swoopers. 1 sprained his wrist, 1 moved, 1 is absent, 1 quit and 2 got kicked off the dz (nothing safety related). I'm now expecting 6 - 8. Crazy thing happened yesterday. I got an email from the DZM that said, "For a lack of participants and organization I think its best for us to cancel the meeting". I went out to the DZ to talk about it and found the topic not open for discussion. "Read my lips, we are not having the meeting". After much arguing I got the following reasons out of him. 1. he is getting nothing out of it. 2. "it's not worth it for only a few people". 3. he's not interested in doing anything that is primarily for visiting jumpers. And he certainly did not like my response to this as I now can add my name to a ever growing list of people that have been kicked off the dropzone. I feel pretty sure it will hail in hell before skydive houston gets another one of these swoop meets. As for this sunday if 4 people can compete we are instead going to have this meet at skydive aggieland. if 4 can't compete then this sunday's meet will be re-scheduled to one of the alternate weekends. if the meet is held this sunday at aggieland everything will be bumped back one hour to give anyone showing up at sdh time to get to aggieland. remember that your final place standings at the end of the season are determined by the lowest cumulative total of your place standings from 4/5 meets. meaning participating in this meet could give you an advantage over competitors that compete only in the last 4 meets. also remember that aggieland is a ground course. I'll post as soon as I know if this sunday's meet will take place or not. very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anybody.
  21. right on. good that you're still coming out. you can still learn alot from just watching. i may could use some help with the judging if you are interested in that. cya sunday.
  22. this sunday, may 15th, at skydive houston. final registration is sunday morning 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. there will be a practice course set up saturday (maybe friday). you must be pre-registered to use the course. you may pre-register anytime prior to the deadline. remember you must compete in 4/5 meets to be eligible to qualify for the CPC National Championships. please let me know if you are planning to attend.
  23. they called it after getting the record. probably find a full list of the names in the june or july issue of parachutist. maybe someone else will post them. i can't remember everyone's name. 70+ people showed for this.
  24. They got an official 53-way on the sunset load. I didn't make it on the record but the dives I did get on were my coolest so far. 5 40+-ways and 3 53-way attempts. All but one from 12,500'. Congrats to those that were on the record. And a big thanks to Alchemy for hosting such a great event. cya next year!!
