  1. After drinking 12 cups of water every day, I don't want anything else. I've never had a cup of coffee..... can't get past the nasty taste.
  2. Those cows appreciated your dedication. I've had two babies. I KNOW why cows go "Moo." What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
  3. I wondered how long it would take for this thread to turn trashy. You haven't disappointed me. Good story. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
  4. In case you miss your chance, let me just say, you're not missing anything. Really. rl What I'm missing is the opportunity to vote 'yes' on this poll. I'd be really good at it too. I'm sure of it.
  5. I always wanted to be able to say that I've milked a cow. That's definitely something I want to do before I die. What have you always wanted to be able to say that you've done? What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

  9. They don't make my favorite candy bar. I'd like the dark chocolate of a Mounds bar substituted for the milk chocolate of the Almond Joy. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
  10. One thing I put in my will the attorney had never heard of before. I stipulated that my children would have to go through a financial plan by a certified financial planner. The executor of my estate is my financial advisor. I would encourage them to use him, but any CFP would do, and my estate would pay for it. My executor had to have proof of them receiving the advice before distributing any inheritance. I figured that is the last piece of motherly advice I could give them....what to do with a money windfall. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
  11. I've been sleeping with my best friend for the last six years. He loves to cuddle and to keep me warm. I spent many a cold night in bed before I got him, let me tell you! I can turn him on with just a touch. And he's never failed to get hot!!! ....well except for that one night when the electricity went out. He's my electric blanket. Sorry...that's all I got... 12. I had three beagles who are known for their 'wander lust.' I had a four-foot chain link fence that they laughed at. I installed an Invisible Fence in addition to it. That worked for two of them. The third had to have a collar with double the shock prongs, no delay, and turned up to the highest shock possible. She ignored the shock and climbed the fence anyway. Her neck would be oozing and raw. I ended up having to stake her in the backyard. After a year, she broke the stake. By then, she decided to respect the shock collar. Many times I thought I would have to put her down because of it. She was a rescue beagle who was considered unadoptable because she had a seizure disorder that required two custom prescription medicines twice a day. The rescue organization was going to put her down if I didn't adopt her. The collar sounds cruel, but it was preferable to the alternative. She was the smartest dog I have ever owned. She taught the other two how to get into trouble. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

  16. And just think...he liked the content of the book. Can you imagine what he would have written if he didn't like it? The personal attacks were so unnecessary. It really took away from what he was trying to convey. I'm sorry that review ever made the magazine, but anyone reading it will be put off by the reviewer's attitude. The outcome will be that the reviewer looks bad, and Scott Campos will sell more books. The more books sold...the more people helped. That was the goal in writing the book the in first place. It's all good in the end. The information contained in the book is priceless. It's a resource that I refer to often. 19. Is this discussion talking about the stowed lines or the excess lines that aren't stowed? I've seen people put the excess lines in the bottom of the backpack (pack tray) or against the BOC (main bottom flap). Which is correct? 21. Quote I can't help you with the cold problems (never had to deal with that ) Quote Wimp....you should come to Virginia and jump with me. It will put hair on your chest.
  22. QuoteIn my opinion it would take a lot of turbulence to feel the effect while in a wingsuit. Our airspeed is so fast that I just don't think it affects us a whole lot. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'd guess it's more likely that the shakiness you felt was maybe due to getting tired, especially if it was your last jump of the day. The best way to deal with this is relax and arch and fly a bit less efficiently, or retract your legs a little bit maybe. Your endurance will build over time.Quote Oh, I'm very familiar with the 'chipping' that results when every muscle in my body is contracted, I'm holding my breath, and I'm trying to fly the Prodigy. I flew into this turbulence, and flew out of it about ten seconds later. The bucking and pitching that resulted reminded me of being in the turbulence I have experienced under canopy at times. It was very different. If it really were turbulence, and not just fatigue, how should I handle it? Would closing all the wings make me more stable and get out of it faster? 23. I've had a Prodigy demo for several weeks and have 14 jumps on it now. Each jump is more fun than the last. My friends on the ground are enjoying watching me zoom past. I may be starting a trend at my DZ. I have to return the demo now, and I think I will be going through withdrawal until my own arrives. Saturday was the coldest day of jumping. It was in the 30s with fairly high winds. I tried two kinds of gloves, but my fingers were absolutely hurting when I landed. I had to go into a heated room for a while before I could pack. What have you tried that keeps your fingers from getting so cold? On my last jump I ran into some substantial turbulence during freefall. I don't remember reading about what to do about it. I tried to just relax through it, but at one point almost flipped over. What is the correct reaction when faced with squirrely winds? Several of my jumps I was over the ideal opening spot at 5,000 feet, waved off, and was in the saddle by about 3,600 feet. I was surprised to be so far away when my canopy opened. I barely made it back. Again the winds were fairly high so I didn't make much progress facing into the wind getting back. Is it normal to continue to travel a long distance during deployment? Was it because of the winds? What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
  24. Orange is having $19 jumps this weekend. Come join us!
  25. I first made this chili for a Vegan AFF instructor. It is amazingly easy and good tasting (notice you only cook it for 15 minutes total!) Everyone who has tried it loves it. I made it with ground beef once, and it wasn't as good. I've taken it to a DZ chili cookoff, and it was very popular. Try this one with a another more time consuming meat version, and I'll bet many will prefer this. Vegetarian Chili 1 Onion, chopped 2 cloves Garlic, minced 1 Green Pepper, chopped 1 can (28 ounces) Tomatoes, chopped 2 tablespoons Olive Oil 2 teaspoons Chili Powder 2 teaspoons Cumin 2 teaspoons Paprika ½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper 2 cans Black Beans, undrained Combine all the ingredients except the beans in a large pot, bring to a boil and simmer ten minutes. Stir in the beans and cook five minutes more. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
