Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project

Have a look at this: http://www.hydrogenlab.de/elektronium/HTML/einleitung_hauptseite_uk.html This is the best representation I've seen so far. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project
NewGuy2005 replied to NewGuy2005's topic in The Bonfire
Afraid not. We do, on the other hand, have accesss to everything at the local Hobby Lobby and Home Depot. I'm beginning to think the teacher does not know what she is asking for. She claims my daughter has seen several examples from last year. From what my daughter described, they sound like Bohr models. I may ask her if I can drop by after school and have a look at a few. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project

The teacher claims that my daughter has seen several examples of this kind of model. I'm kind of doubting that. For the record, I do not understand quantum physics, not even a little. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project

I think it might, but they would need to nest inside each other and they would need to be clear. Also, each balloon would show only one possible orbit rather than all of the probable orbits. -

Exactly!! How would you show the various spheres with all the probable locations of the subatomic particles? Even the shperes aren't realy spheres. -

My Daughter needs to create a "cloud" model of a vanadium atom. This needs to be a cloud model as opposed to a Bohr or Chadwick type model. We understand the concept of the cloud model but need help converting this concept into a 3-dimensional object that she can put on a desk in front of her. How do you physically show the varying and multi-shaped orbits of the atom's various components? All ideas, links, etc, would be greatly appreciated!!! -
I don't disagree with your response, but I've got to say that it's high time to put "The search function is your friend" to rest. That's got to be one of the most hackneyed phrases on this forum.

Pulling at lower altitude than declared at boarding.
NewGuy2005 replied to Tolgak's topic in Safety and Training
I agree with everything you said, but I'm wondering how you would organize the load by altitude? -
He went with "Gandor" [sic] and took the boat to the Undying Lands, sort of an Elvish Heaven. Even though he was not an Elf, he was allowed to go since he was a Ring Bearer.

HORIZONTAL separation is the way to avoid collisions. You can't trust vertical separation for the exact reason you have discovered. I agree. Even if there is a 10 ft. VERTICAL difference in your pull altitudes, if the next guy on the load hits you, you will be just as dead as if there was a 500 ft difference in you pull altitudes. Everyone can pull at the "same" altitude and no one will be in the saddle at the same altitude. The only safety is in HORIZONTAL separation. -
Yep. That's all it is. A fun ride. What could possibly go wrong??

What is the deal with all the teeth whitening ads? Everywhere I go, be it Yahoo, or news sites, or whatever, it's nothing but bizarre teeh ads. Between that and Lance Armstrong, I'm about to turn off my computer.

has this happened to anyone else?

He's dead on right. It may take a while, but it will always pay off. -

How can anyone that says something so stupid hold such an important job? -
This is a must: Spend the night in the 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It's famous for being haunted. Call now and make reservations and ask for "Michael's Room" or any other "active" room. Fall is a very busy time of the year, so call and make reservations. Also take the Ghost Tour of the hotel for the awful history of it's use as a scam cancer hospital years ago. The guy that ran it used to perform experiments on people. Also, the ghost tour is the only way to see the old morgue in the basement. Eureka Springs is also a very beautiful and unique town located in the Ozark Mountains. It was built in the late 1800's and has lots of Victorian buildings and houses built on the sides of the hils. It's got lots of nice places to eat and lots of art galleries. Be sure to eat at Cafe Soliel.

I believe he is telling the truth. There is another piece of personal information he told me that seemed pretty wild, possibly even more so than being a Seal. I was able to verify that it is absolutely true. I no longer doubt him.

Good point. I spent a lot of time around the guy this weekend and got to see a little more of what he's all about and it was all good.

I know a guy that claims to have been a Navy Seal. Is there any registry or other way to verify if he's telling the truth?
