  1. Yes, I did that on purpose, and that is the response I'm looking for. I already know where I have been thinking of retiring. I'm trying to think outside my own box, so to speak. That being said, what are your suggestions?
  2. I love California, but you are right. That place is packed, not to mention expensive.
  3. Arizona really appeals to me. Please elaborate.
  4. I'm going to take a motorcycle trip west in June to scout out potential places to retire. That is, assuming I ever get to. West of the Mississippi, where in your mind is the ultimate place to retire?
  5. Make sure the transmission is in "park." If it is in park, put it in and out of park a few times and try again.
  6. Another truly great book is called Hunting Warbirds.
  7. Sounds like we are in agreement. Technically speaking, since it is laid out as a right in the constitution, this is within the process. Voting is also within the process. Which one of those actions is appropriate at this time?
  8. They are not even waiting to see the results of the next election before there is a call to arms. While they may have the right to do so, I think it shows a disrespect for the democratic process. This sort of thing gives detractors of conservatism an almost limitless supply of material for derision, and rightly so. I hate to see it.
  9. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100412/ap_on_re_us/us_tea_party_militia OKLAHOMA CITY – Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty. Tea party movement leaders say they've discussed the idea with several supportive lawmakers and hope to get legislation next year to recognize a new volunteer force. They say the unit would not resemble militia groups that have been raided for allegedly plotting attacks on law enforcement officers......
  10. I'm sorry. You may have misunderstood me. I think they have almost nothing in common. I'm just wondering why the guy is getting hammered by the right for trying to do something constructive like secure nuclear material and reduce the number of weapons. I would add a few question marks to the end of the thread title, but it's too late to edit it. FYI, I consider myself a member of the right and I think this is one of the few things he's done that I can agree with.
  11. Why is it that when Reagan wanted to rid the world of nuclear weapons, he was a visionary and when Obama wants to rid the world of nuclear weapons, he's selling us out to our enemies?
  12. Rosetta Stone language learning software is excellent.
  13. I sacked Peter Fonda's groceries when I was 16 years old.
  14. Oh, good point I guess we get to look forward to higher funeral costs for a while as demand goes up No, they'll just tip the bodies in open pits and shovel lime on them. Pssst get in on the Soylent Green futures now while you can Damnit!! I was going to make the Soylent Green reference!!
  15. Another excellent trip report. Thanks, John!
  16. I assume you are not talking about calling the headhunter back, right? Call the company directly.
  17. He's dead on the mark. Listen, I used to be a headhunter and I can tell you that it is not uncommon to come across one that is dishonest and unprofessional. The headhunter may be doing this for the above reason or any number of reasons. I have seen some crazy stuff in the past. Go directly to the company and tell them that you are very interested in the position. Their response will tell you if the feedback was true. If you were called back for a second interview 2 hours after the first one, you must have done something right, The feedback the headhunter gave you does not make sense.
  18. Wow, kinda like canopy coaching to an a licensed jumper wanting a 120 isn't it? I was wondering how long it would take for someone to make that analogy. I will be taking the course.
  19. ...PLEASE take a riders course! that is a buttload of bike~! You can say that again. Nothing but country backroads for me for a while. I have not taken the course, but I have been reading up and practicing manouvers and emergency braking, etc. The only place to take the course around here charges $300. Is that typical?
  20. 2005 Kawasaki ZRX1200R. Just got it in January. This is my first street bike.
  21. [reply You have to wonder how long it will be before one of his boyfriends comes forward to have another one of those embarrasing repubiclown moments and gnashing of teeth over letting down his family, constituents, etc etc. Come on, we haven't had one of those in days!
