Don't take ANY advice from ANYONE that is not an attorney. On top of that, it really ought to be one licensed in your state. -
Any Older or Retired Air Traffic Controllers Out There?

I don't know for sure, but it's possible that it was only used by guys that worked in FSS. Thanks anyway. -

Just a shot in the dark, but I am looking for information on an old life insurance program that was called ATBA. If you had any experience with it, please PM me. -
[reply You can use all three depending on the situation http://www.gunbroker.com/Support/SupportFAQView.aspx?FAQID=1118&NoCount=1 Looks like there is no way around sending it to an FFL.

From Wikipedia: A cadastre (also spelt cadaster), using a cadastral survey[1] or cadastral map, is a comprehensive register of the metes-and-bounds real property of a country. A cadastre commonly includes details of the ownership, the tenure, the precise location (some include GPS coordinates), the dimensions (and area), the cultivations if rural, and the value of individual parcels of land. Cadastres are used by many nations around the world,[1] some in conjunction with other records, such as a title register.[1] In most countries, legal systems have developed around the original administrative systems and use the cadastre as a means of defining the dimensions and location of land parcels described in legal documentation. This leads to the use of the cadastre as a fundamental source of data in disputes and lawsuits between landowners. In the United States, Cadastral Survey within the Bureau of Land Management is responsible for maintaining records of all public lands. Such surveys often required detailed investigation of the history of land use, legal accounts and other documents. Great trip report, as always!!

One year I was watching them and some of them were so bright that they would cast shadows.

Try using Rosetta Stone. It's great.

Anyone interested in this needs to watch The Last Enemy, a British "Masterpiece Theater" type mini-series. It is excellent and thought provoking.

We saw it. It was great!!

WOW, I thought these guys hit bottom already. Love to hear Rush's take on this. I think this thread will be vacant of any conservative posters. I'm a conservative (not Republican) and I think it's pretty bad that they are not supporting this, even of they don't like Al Franken. I'm also not surprised. Is that what you wanted?

Who rides motorcycles and what is your ride?

That's another one that's on my short list. How do you like it? -
Speaking of Fall colors in the Ozarks, they should be really good this year. We've gotten a lot of rain in the late summer. That always brings them out.

Not done, but the picture is there now! That is going to BA when it is done. NICE work. :) Can't wait to see the finished product. THANKS! There will be very few like it. Truthfully, it's an amateur job, but it's not bad considering the whole thing was done in my garage. I'm thinking I'm going to ride it for 2-3 months and sell it to buy a modern bike. The short list is: Suzuki SV-650S ABS BMW F-800 ST Triumph Daytona 675 Harley Davidson XR-1200 -

Even though it's not on the road yet, I'm building an '81 Yamaha XS-650 cafe racer, attached. Bought the frame on Craigslist and have been building the rest a piece at a time. Almost done. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project
NewGuy2005 replied to NewGuy2005's topic in The Bonfire
Have a look at this: http://www.hydrogenlab.de/elektronium/HTML/einleitung_hauptseite_uk.html This is the best representation I've seen so far. Even that only shows one state at a time, not ALL of them. I think the assignment as reported is silly. True, but it helped this layman understand the concept. I think the assignment is silly, too, with regards to teaching Physics. However, teenagers (especially mine) need to learn brainstorming, communication, problem solving, and people skills as well. This assignment is helping with that, so I'm not going to complain. The kid can be smart, but smart goes a lot further when you have the other skills, too. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project
NewGuy2005 replied to NewGuy2005's topic in The Bonfire
That's what I would like to do. After repeated questioning of my daughter, we are getting down to what is actually required. Turns out that what the teacher wants is going to be fairly easy to make, even if it's not that true to life. Thanks to everyone that responded. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project
NewGuy2005 replied to NewGuy2005's topic in The Bonfire
What level are they teaching to? It's not like the kids are going to learn anything about quantum physics by doing it. I think it's probably quite easy work for teachers since they can turn a difficult science subject into an easy art subject. That way they can teach science without actually doing any science. I can't say I'm impressed. My daughter understands the concept of the probability cloud and was able to explain it to me, so they must be doing something other than art. However, I will admit that I'm not too crazy about this project. -
Need Help With My Daughter's Physical Science Project
NewGuy2005 replied to NewGuy2005's topic in The Bonfire
I like #1 except the nucleus needs to be a probability cloud too. #2 is good too but you could say you scaled it UP 1000000 times. It's in there ---honest! Now it's up to teacher to prove a 1M x oversized model of a single vanadium atom is NOT in the box! But, true to the whole concept of the project: maybe it is, maybe it isn't is! Just ask the cat. I like 1 best, but like a previous poster said, make it out of candy so you can eat it.
