Both right. Turning an economy around will not be as simple a a vaccine and away you go.Although the stock market seems to think so.States ,cities and local municipalities have not received funding. They are operating with poor balance sheets. (Turtle), the turnaround necessary to deal with trump bungles will also be a drag on the economy.

Current president V. past presidents. IMO Clinton should have been thrown out. There is a current scandal in Canada and IMO the current P.M. should also be thrown out. If evidence comes forth about sex with underage women involving Bill. LOCK him up. In the meantime the history of US presidents goes back along ways if you're looking for more straws.

Russia will mourn and Putin will reminisce of how he once controlled 3/4 of all the nuclear weapons in the world. How he was the most powerful man who ever lived. Some republicans unfortunately won't get the message. but cheer up, here is the latest from the Lincoln Project. enjoy.

There was a funeral in the US today. Three ex-presidents attended. At John McCain's funeral there was two ex presidents. At trumps there will be none. Imagine the policy from a McCain-Obama government. But thats the past and perhaps a Biden/Rice government can restore America.

Nothing about this is a protest. (NSFW Racial Expletives)
Phil1111 replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes but now there seems to be changes arising from the protests. Racists are nervous about that because it shines the light on their ideals. Best to blame outside agitators...like the media. Instead of the silent majority that will soon vote. -
Until trump is no longer killing American people and destroying the economy. Until he no longer feeds the gaslighting flame. Expect more.Unlike you I would like America to succeed. To grow a economy that benefits all with healthy, respectful people all pulling on the same rope. You don't seem capable of posting issues arising from trump himself that benefits all Americans. I've challenged you again and again to do so. Good governance arises from policy that benefits all or a national interest. Ideas absent from trump's administration.

Oh, 43 years ago. Way back when the constitution mattered to the GOP. When the GOP stood up because backbones existed and were connected to independent brains within the GOP. Scroll ahead to five minutes ago when trump tweeted about postponing the 2020 election. An executive order to follow?

"A cadre of Republican opponents of President Donald Trump is nonetheless calling for a purifying fire to sweep through the GOP in the fall, taking down not just Trump but as many Republican officeholders as possible. Only this willy-nilly bloodletting will teach the party the hard lesson it needs to learn and mete out the punishment it deserves for accommodating Trump over the past four years. As a Soviet commissar once put it, “We must execute not only the guilty. Execution of the innocent will impress the masses even more.” These Never Trumpers, as my colleague Ramesh Ponnuru puts it, are becoming Never Republicans. Their ranks run from the estimable columnist George Will, to Charlie Sykes of the anti-Trump website The Bulwark, to the operatives of The Lincoln Project, which is now running ads against Republican senators as well as Trump." The above is from an editorial in Politico. Now everyone knows about families that have traditions of supporting one party or another come hell or high water. Military families supporting the GOP as one example. Clearly the damage that trump has done needs to be undone. His trashing of any accountability for the environment. Of the law and of any tax fairness. Of the deficit. IMO trumpism will eventually vanish but the 38% of the population that supported him will still be around. They will still want to wield a disproportionate vote due to the electoral college, gerrymandering, etc. If the lessons of trump stand as a permanent mark on the GOP thats not necessarily bad. But caution about liberal excess is necessary.

With trump whipping them all the way. Putin meanwhile will be playing that narrative as hard as he can while smiling about four good years. trump, the worst Russian government ever.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998
Phil1111 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
More bad news for the military. Its becoming a lap-dog for conservative ideas. I apologize in advance to service personal but its true. New Pentagon training refers to protesters, journalists as 'adversaries'. In only four years the leaders of the military have sunk to new lows to pervert their profession. Sad. -
Another bonafide pro-trump idiot dies of covid. The co-founder of conservative student group Turning Point USA, Bill Montgomery, has died from complications of the coronavirus,... “I really wish people would just stop politicizing this pandemic and grow up while innocent people around us are dying,” Hull also said. “You have no idea how painful it is to be forced to sit at home while your loved one dies alone in a hospital.”... one of Montgomery’s goals was to get Kirk, a close ally of Donald Trump Jr., elected president one day. Maggio called Montgomery “a conservative through and through” who “wore it as a badge of honor.”..Over the course of the pandemic, Turning Point USA representatives have downplayed the impact of the coronavirus on public life."

"Mr. Trump also for the first time hinted at blaming subordinates for failing to bring the matter to his attention. “If it reached my desk, I would have done something about it,” he said. Officials have said the assessment was in his written intelligence brief in February, ... “It never reached my desk,” Mr. Trump told Axios. “You know why? Because they didn’t think — intelligence — they didn’t think it was real. They didn’t think — they didn’t think it was worthy of — I wouldn’t mind — if it reached my desk, I would have done something about it.”... Mr. Trump also suggested to Axios that Russia’s provision of arms to the Taliban was a kind of understandable payback for America’s backing of fighters opposing the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan during the 1980s. “We supplied weapons when they were fighting Russia, too,” Mr. Trump said. Well at least you and trump are on the same page.

The current GOP leadership will be singing the Blues and double checking their banking accounts to make sure they stole enough for retirement.

Pro-trump fake state news agency. -
Joe is on the right track but a bit premature. I'll roll with Bigun on this one. Now if trump has his way, W/O an election upcoming, W/O a independent Judiciary. trump and Barr would be off to a good start on the dictatorship. The senate is currently a body of yes-men.More than anything it shows the vulnerabilities of US checks and balances.

Trump donated $100,000 of his salary to fight coronavirus. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees announced Monday that he and his wife Brittany are donating $5 million through the Brees Dream Foundation to help build healthcare centers throughout the state of Louisiana." Which would be his second $5 million donation to fight covid.

1696 Americans died yesterday which would have added 1051 men, women and children to the trump Death Clock. All you need to know about America today, he is and always will be wrong. Child hospitalizations from Covid-19 surge 23% in Florida as schools statewide must reopen A 9-year-old who died of coronavirus had no known underlying health issues, family says. Kimmie is the fifth minor in Florida to die from Covid-19, according to the latest health records. The others were an 11-year-old boy in Miami-Dade County, an 11-year-old girl in Broward County, a 16-year-old girl in Lee County and a 17-year-old boy in Pasco County." 'Thanks, but no thanks' - Norwegians reject Trump's immigration offer. Norway has 10% of the Covid infections and deaths as compared to the US,per capita. Do you think people from the EU, from Norway, will immigrate to the US like trump wants?

The sad state regarding the lack of information and resources in the US fight against C-19. Is laid out by the National Association of County and City Health Officials. It objected to the WH blocking $25 billion for contact tracing and enhanced testing. It has stated that with the current levels of covid infections the US needs 100,000 contact tracers. Which would cost $3.7 billion. The US federal government has spent nothing to support contact tracing. Arkansas as an example has announced plans to hire 350 contact tracers which if completed would bring the total to 900, 3722 are needed at current infection numbers."In Florida, where the pandemic is surging terribly, the same estimator calculates that 291 tracers per 100,000 residents are needed. Yet as of early July, the state had only seven per 100,000."

FIFY frequently those who doubt science believe in conspiracy theories. "Over a third of Americans believe that global warming is a hoax (Swift, 2013), and over half believe that Lee Har-vey Oswald did not act alone in the assassination of John F. Kennedy ( Jensen, 2013)" A related property of conspiracy theories is that they can protect cherished beliefs (e.g., vaccination is harmful; climate change is not a serious concern) by casting over-whelmingly disconfirmatory evidence (e.g., scientific findings) as the product of a conspiracy He is not alone but the numbers like him are remarkably similar to the number that still support trump. Fact is irrelevant. Logic is a feather hammer.

Testing every other day of everyone involved, hand sanitizing half way through each inning, etc. For trump all OK to open schools for kids. " MLB took care of the upfront cost of reconfiguring the facility to handle COVID-19 tests: $250,000 to purchase the necessary lab instruments and $1.325 million for testing reagents, according to a league spokesman."
