  1. I must be inherently heartless. Because I personally like that entire concept. Stupid and corrupted people who don't value the character of your constitution. Seeking to subvert it. Donating cash to crooks like trump and the current GOP. Are a match made in evangelical heaven. Which is different from trump tenants swindled by trump rent/tax scams. Different from students of trump university who honestly thought they may learn something. Different from the investors and bankers that thought trump entered into bona fide contracts.
  2. I get confused by the trajectory of your arguments. You first post that the debate has gone off your original subject. Then post about the 30-30 v .270. Then link a relatively inaccurate $1400 semi-auto based upon military designs. Presumably because its semi-auto and takes high capacity mags. The fact that the pandemic has driven new gun purchases. Purchases by new gun owners that has been referenced by yourself and others. Yet you keep driving those purchases back to semi-auto rifles with military origins. All of which take high capacity magazines. None of which has seen a new rush of buying. Driven by politics. Just come out and say you love semi-autos with high capacity mags. That you'll use any straw argument to justify ownership and new purchases of them. Its OK. We'll still love you!
  3. So you're in favor of banning handguns because of their inherent danger and misuse? What about the .454, .50 cal hunting revolvers? You make good points in the gun debate. But not in this thread. AR's see 99.9 percent of their use in the US shooting steel, plinking, etc. with almost no hunting.
  4. Sorry Joe is right here. Sure you can hunt deer if you handload a good bullet. But anything under a .270 is a compromise and you know it. I'm sorry but even though you're right its legal in only one or two states. It should be illegal and its disgusting. No self respecting sportsman shoots animals after pursuing them with a helicopter, vehicle, etc. Its not sporting, fair and nothing paints hunters in a worst light. For the uninitiated none of the pigs shot from a helicopter are retrieved for food. There are commercial trappers that trap live pigs for commercial meat sale.
  5. Wrong, as usual. Right. The .223 is second in popularity to the .22-250 for varmints. Varmints being gophers to coyotes. Its also the minimum caliber for deer in many US states although many define it as center-fire minimum.
  6. "Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy complained Monday of being the victim of six years of "slander", in his first remarks to the court at his landmark corruption trial. Sarkozy became France's first modern head of state to appear in the dock last week, going on trial on charges of corruption and influence peddling. The 65-year-old right-winger, who also faces trials in two other investigations, is accused of offering judge Gilbert Azibert a plum retirement job in exchange for inside information on an inquiry into his campaign finances. "I don't accept any of the slander that has been levelled at me over the past six years," France's leader from 2007 to 2012 told the criminal court in Paris." What Happened When Other Countries Prosecuted Former Leaders? It happens all the time, just not in the U.S. Slate Dec. 2, 2020 Oh well, trump was right when he infamously said he could kill someone and get away with it.
  7. "Austria’s former Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser was sentenced to eight years in prison Friday for his involvement in a major corruption scandal, local media reported. The criminal court of Vienna said Grasser was guilty of providing insider information to a private investor ahead of the sale of 60,000 state-owned apartments in 2004. Grasser pocketed around €9.6 million for his part in the deal, the court heard during the trial, which lasted three years and became known as the BUWOG Scandal after the company involved." Meanwhile in the Banana republic there is talk that the the "rule of law" doesn't apply to its elected kings. Cue Lee Greenwood - God Bless The USA Because even though the US ranks 28th on the world corruption index. At least for the USA its "FREE" and blessed by "GOD".
  8. Seventy to eighty percent of republicans believe the election was stolen. Nothing has changed since any of these court rulings.

    covid-19

Pastor of California Megachurch That Defied Lockdown Order Dies of COVID-19 "A California pastor has died from COVID-19, five weeks after his megachurch reopened in defiance of the state’s ban on indoor religious services...the church nevertheless ignored a mid-July order banning indoor church services. Church officials insisted to the Times that Byrant didn’t come to church after he developed symptoms but they weren’t sure when the pastor was last in the church." In other religious news: Michigan Pastor Tells Congregation to Catch COVID-19 and ‘Get It Over With’ "A Michigan pastor has encouraged his congregation to contract the deadly coronavirus surging across the state so they can just “get it over with.” Bart Spencer, a senior pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Holland, made the stunning suggestion during a Nov. 14 sermon. “COVID, it’s all good. It’s OK. Get it, get it over with, press on,..Lighthouse Baptist Church is still holding in-person services without masks or social distancing mandates. “We trust our people to make their own decisions,” Spencer said.." No wonder trump has so many supporters from the religious right.
  10. Thank goodness there is a professional, non-political FBI.
  11. You must have done well in high school drama classes. You don't need semi-autos or high capacity mags for self defense. If you think you do you need some more range time and less time on the x-box.
  12. Your logic, your misuse of historical perspective is so fatally flawed as to defy reasonable response.
  13. IMO training is a smaller segment of the issue. I would have no issue with Brent owning the aforementioned full auto AR as long as his mental stability precludes misuse. With Brent's training should he decide to kill as many people as possible. He could likely formulate a plan to do so without guns. The problem with high capacity magazines and mental instability is that dangerous public outcomes are far more lethal. Western countries have kept high capacity magazines and more lethal guns under tight restrictions. The US hasn't. Thats why in France there are knife attacks instead of mass killings. In Germany vehicular assaults. In Canada attacks with lever action rifles and not the AR with 30-60 round mags. There seems to be an acceptance that the will of the majority will be defeated by the gun lobby during Biden's administration. Brent objection noted. That may change with the next mass shooting. Which seems overdue given US history. What won't likely change is the power of the gun lobby in the US.
  14. A new action in the State Supreme Court in Brooklyn, has been filed by tenants in trump owned properties. The scam was started by trump's daddy, Fred, who increased the cost of renovation materials at least 20% above the cost of purchase. All to increase the cost of rents in their buildings and circumvent rent control laws “You try so hard, and to hear something like this, it breaks my heart, because I believe they are just taking advantage of poor people,” Leonie Green, a Westminster Apartment tenant for over 22 years, told The Times. This one is obviously different from the "Consulting Fees" fraud investigation by the SDNY. Into the entire trump crime family. Perhaps a pardon for daddy is also in the works?
  15. Once again the GOP, the NRA prove that the will of Americans is trumped by the minority of the gun lobby.
  16. "The researchers also show there was no statistical difference in the surge in background checks between Republican-leaning and Democrat-leaning states. This differs from November months during election years and months following mass shootings. Following these events, background checks increased significantly more in Republican states due to uncertainty about changes to gun laws, a subject of great concern to many Republican party members. These findings reinforced the idea that firearm enthusiasts worried about changes in gun policies were not driving the increased sales in 2020." "President Donald Trump—after a lobbying blitz from gun rights groups—issued guidance that gun shops should be considered essential businesses and allowed to remain open, even as states were forcing other retailers to close their doors in an effort to slow the spread of the virus. Many state governors complied, and some even reversed previous orders to have gun stores closed, citing Trump’s guidance. The National Rifle Association filed lawsuits against local jurisdictions that forced gun stores to shut down, including the states of New York and New Mexico and two counties in California." This is the type of fearmongering that the NRA is best known for.Covid = unrest = fear so buy a nice little full auto.
  17. Apparently. Because this whole story/thread is FAKE NEWS! The NSSF is the US firearms industry trade group. It stated: "2020 has been unlike any other year for firearm purchases—particularly by first-time buyers—as new NSSF® research reveals millions of people chose to purchase their first gun during the COVID-19 pandemic....Thanks in large part to the work done by NSSF’s legislative team, the firearms industry was deemed essential in most states, and firearm retailers were allowed to stay open to conduct business. And conduct business they did, with NSSF-adjusted NICS figures showing year-over-year increases of 80 percent in March and 69 percent in April 2020." So fear, trump and the NRA was responsible. Thanks Brent.

  19. Cash for pardons. Gotta hand it to trump and the GOP. Soon America will be bananas from sea to sea. Hannity urges Trump to pardon himself
  20. and along that same line of thought. The Lincoln Project's latest.
  21. trump will employ the best of the best legal minds. To answer that question. Ivanka, Don Jr., Eric and trump himself. Depend upon it.

    covid-19

    Its called Leadership:
  23. Evidently more good is to come: "Rudolph W. Giuliani, President Trump’s lawyer who has led the most extensive efforts to damage his client’s political rivals and undermine the election results, discussed with the president as recently as last week the possibility of receiving a pre-emptive pardon before Mr. Trump leaves office, according to two people told of the discussion. It was not clear who raised the topic. The men have also talked previously about a pardon for Mr. Giuliani, according to the people. Mr. Trump has not indicated what he will do, one of the people said." Gosh! with all the pardoning to come perhaps America should be renamed "America the Good!"

    covid-19

Agree, Dr. Fauci laid it out perfectly. Don't travel for thanksgiving and about eight million said F*&k to that. So there will be a thanks(for me)giving(now I'll give it to you) wave. A x-mas family wave, a new years party wave. Until there is a second needle into those who trust science. There will be wave after wave. For those who are anti-vaxers, anti-science, etc. This time next year there will still be dozens a day dying. The Covid freedom sounds like gun control freedom logic.

    covid-19

Under Covid education: "Police broke up a house party in Mississauga on Sunday that resulted in more than $47,000 worth of fines being issued to some of those attending...He said 27 fines of $880 apiece were issued and the two hosts of the party were each given a Part 3 Summons that carries a minimum fine of $10,000."
