Gonna have to get Wendy a nail gun for all the nails she is driving home.

Why don't you just come out and tell the truth. i.e. I'm self employed, I created my own job, I get nothing from the government. I believe in the smallest government possible. I look after my kids, my wife, my family, my friends. I expect others to do the same. I'm paraphrasing but why don't you expand? If necessary?

Trump has cleared the decks at intelligence and the pentagon.Media is speculating that mid-east troop withdrawals are afoot. My first thought would be nuclear technology for his best friend MBS. Because a golden parachute for his exit from office courtesy the Saudi's would be nice. Arms deals using fake security concerns are my thoughts on it. Others suggest a distracting military issue. Trump Stacks the Pentagon and Intel Agencies With Loyalists. To What End?

"Months before the Trump administration rolled out its “zero-tolerance” policy on the U.S.-Mexico border, hundreds of migrant children were already being separated from their families with little fanfare. As those children were shuttled around the country in late 2017, their parents were swiftly detained or deported, with few records taken by the government about where they went or how to contact them.... ” Lee Gelernt, an ACLU attorney, said in an interview with The Washington Post. “Not only are we still looking for hundreds of families, but we would have never even known about these families if the Trump administration had its way.”... Of the parents of 545 separated children who have not yet been contacted, lawyers expect 75 will be reachable by phone. Another 187 have been found but not reached successfully, and 283 have not been found entirely. “At some point, we’re going to hit a group of families that becomes very hard to find,” Gelernt said. “It’s not inconceivable that we’ll still be looking for them a year from now.” With little more than a misspelled name or an outdated phone number, the attorneys travel to remote, mountainous villages that are sometimes controlled by gangs and often suspicious of all outsiders. The roads to these tiny hamlets are bumpy and ragged, and the prevailing tongue might be the Mayan language of Mam, not Spanish."

This story is perfect for you. It explains in a very logical fashion how the GOP went down the rabbit hole. What Motivates the Republican Party? The GOP seems wildly hypocritical and unprincipled, until you understand its guiding idea. from Washington Monthly August 2020 "Over the last several decades, the Republican Party has been conquered by the Christian right and the overwhelmingly white Tea Party movement. The former has a theocratic vision for America. The latter militantly opposes economic redistribution. These movements converged with a realization that demographic trends were unfriendly to their party’s older base, generating a white identity politics that found its natural expression in the intensely divisive and intermittently racist stylings of Trump. Consider, for example, Trump’s promise to “Make America Great Again.” It is effectively a pledge to return to the days when white men walked tall in America, Christianity was a quasi-official creed, and foreign influences were on the margins of national life—precisely the world that most Republicans yearn for. Trump’s steady appointment of conservative judges gives evangelicals, many of whom believe that abortion is literal murder, exactly what they want. His heavy (if erratic) investment in restrictionist immigration policies has always been central to his appeal, and the sudden lurch of the GOP in that direction after George W. Bush and John McCain championed a more diverse future was far from being just another area of Republican electoral opportunism. Indeed, some of what Benen sees as simple cynicism is arguably ideological as well. Consider, for example, the party’s embrace of devious voter suppression and gerrymandering. Benen treats these as a by-product of Republican opportunism. But for a party existentially committed to restoring (or preserving) white, Christian supremacy in the face of increasing diversity, they are a direct means of delivering that dominance. Similarly, the determination of Republicans to resist any hint of gun regulation, despite public opinion (which The Imposters documents thoroughly), isn’t just a matter of gun lobby campaign contributions. Instead, it comes from a genuine belief among grassroots conservatives that armed struggle against what Trump calls “radical Democrat elites” must remain an option if conventional politics fails." Ron, what do you think about this article?

Why do you keep using WH sources for your information? Sources of information that pander to trump and his appointees? i have also heard those same reports and they don't pass the smell test. What would those parents gain? What could those children gain? You're a smart guy just step aside a bit from sources of info that are not directly related to trump.

“Save America.” its the new trump PAC aka slush fund. Trump asks for 'election defense' donations, but the money also benefits his new leadership PAC Like anything else to do with trump just follow the money. But he will need money for "election defense" for sure. From Politico "Biden will have one tool, however, that allows him to pursue justice while also ensuring that the process doesn’t appear to be tainted by politics. That tool is the special counsel—a prosecutor appointed not by Biden, but by his attorney general," "Save America end the witch hunt" is probably close. So entrepreneurs poach those domain names.

"No looting and little violence" in the overall equation of licensing polluters over four years. "research from Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School and other sources, counts more than 80 environmental rules and regulations officially reversed, revoked or otherwise rolled back under Mr. Trump. Another 20 rollbacks are still in progress." Kidnapping children from their parents as a national immigration policy. "Lawyers working to reunite migrant families separated by the Trump administration before and during its "zero tolerance" policy at the border now believe the number of separated children for whom they have not been able to find parents is 666, higher than they told a federal judge last month, according to an email obtained by NBC News. Nearly 20 percent, or 129, of those children were under 5 at the time of the separation, according to a source familiar with the data." Trump's separation of families constitutes torture, doctors find IMO kidnappers of children should be shot on sight. The burning and looting of a small American town would not compare to the kidnapping of over 100 children. Anything else?

Thats not true the GOP represents red states and plays the ignorance of their base for the betterment of business and self employed inclined to small to no government. Don't confuse a lack of morals in spreading ignorance and lies with not standing for anything. The rule of law, the constitution, America as a whole are all in play to shrink government to defense and policing. With a minor role of education and public regulation.

"Authorities in Minnesota jailed a self-identified supporter of President Trump this week...50-year-old Mark A. Ulsaker was charged on Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court with assault with a dangerous weapon, threats of violence and assault of a police officer...an elderly married couple was displaying a political sign of unknown content on the corner of a local highway Sunday after President-elect Joe Biden was projected to win the 2020 presidential election over Trump. While they were waving their sign, Ulsaker pulled up onto the sidewalk in his truck and began shouting vulgarities at them, according to the complaint. The man then allegedly got out of his car and came up behind them swinging a golf club at the wife, 78, and the husband, 80. He also allegedly punched the man in the head, ...When asked why he attacked the couple, Ulsaker said he was a “Trump supporter” angry at the couple’s political sign.."

By the time the Pfizer vaccine is available for public distribution likely Feb-Mar. 2021 the core xenophobe areas of the US. i.e. The Dakotas, Kentucky etc. should have a well established herd immunity. With the balance refusing to take vaccines because they cause autism. Just leaves supply for the thinking population.

There have been many psychological and sociological studies done on group thinking and group dynamics in decision making. Trial lawyers spend tens of thousand to attend special seminars on how to influence juries. How to identify potential jury leaders and their thinking before the trial starts. Many studies done on how you can craft group thinking. Such that each person will want to show that they are more outraged than the next. Leading to more radical group decision making that what the mean position of the group was prior to the start of group discussions and interactions. Asian societies have a natural deference to leaders and perceived leaders. So standing up to leaders is even more uncommon. Having said that trump and the GOP would indicate western society is not absent strong following behaviors. Seventy one million GOP voters are not all meek followers. The Mother Jones story I recently quoted offer insight on the majority. Most never bother to make an effort to understand the issues. Or have a self interest that supersedes a national interest. Some will never develop the cognitive functions and political drive to ascertain the full scope larger issues like trade. The GOP is currently exploiting that.

I had serious doubts that this was true. in the age of disinformation I'm skeptical of such stories after all he is the former speaker of the house. But like McConnell it seems as if the GOP may have gone full banana. "In an interview on Fox News on Thursday night, the host Sean Hannity and Gingrich discussed the Trump campaign's lawsuits in Michigan, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, filed as Joe Biden took the lead in several battleground states. "The Philadelphia machine is corrupt. The Atlanta machine is corrupt. The machine in Detroit is corrupt. And they are trying to steal the presidency. And we should not allow them to do that," Gingrich responded. In reality, no charge has been brought or civil lawsuit filed to suggest that any poll workers are "corrupt." But Gingrich continued. "First of all, under federal law, we should lock up the people who are breaking the law," he said. "You stop somebody from being an observer, you just broke federal law. You hide and put up papers so nobody can see what you're doing? You just broke federal law. You bring in ballots that aren't real? You just broke federal law." Its no wonder with FOX as the mouthpiece the GOP keeps its base ignorant and ready to follow blindly.

FIFY This is a good but long story from Mother Jones I Spent 5 Years With Some of Trump’s Biggest Fans. Here’s What They Won’t Tell You. Through interviews it outlines the thinking of many trump supporters. Since most can't be bothered or don't have the time to read it. Here is a quote that summarizes it somewhat: "You are patiently standing in the middle of a long line stretching toward the horizon, where the American Dream awaits. But as you wait, you see people cutting in line ahead of you. Many of these line-cutters are black—beneficiaries of affirmative action or welfare. Some are career-driven women pushing into jobs they never had before. Then you see immigrants, Mexicans, Somalis, the Syrian refugees yet to come. As you wait in this unmoving line, you’re being asked to feel sorry for them all. You have a good heart. But who is deciding who you should feel compassion for? Then you see President Barack Hussein Obama waving the line-cutters forward. He’s on their side. In fact, isn’t he a line-cutter too? How did this fatherless black guy pay for Harvard? As you wait your turn, Obama is using the money in your pocket to help the line-cutters. He and his liberal backers have removed the shame from taking. The government has become an instrument for redistributing your money to the undeserving. It’s not your government anymore; it’s theirs."

Jakee is right. You underestimate the loyalty of his base. because you're smarter than the average of his base you see what he's doing. McConnell is giving trump license as are others. Most probably because they fear trump and also understand the power of 71 million of his voters. Until the wind on the GOP changes the majority of his base will still follow. FOX news cutting away from his press secretary the day before yesterday. Could be the first indication for a change in winds. He is shielded from any change in the Washington climate because he has a WH stocked with yes men.

Boris Johnson suffered a return to reality in the House of Lords over his plans to breach international law on Brexit. Perhaps his promises, b.s.,Brexit lies and populist agenda will finally bite him in the ass. Now he'll never be a match for trump. But he's making an honest effort.
