Zoomer Urges POS Biden to Forgive Student Debt via Exec Order...
Phil1111 replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
Upper education is a driver of future economic growth. Price Of College Increasing Almost 8 Times Faster Than Wages 'There is a tremendous disconnect between the rising costs of education and the flattening of wages, which is only making it harder for graduates to make ends meet while paying back staggering amounts of student loans. So What Is the Impact Of This Disconnect? This combination of a boom in student loans and nearly static wage growth helps explain why so many young adults are drowning in student debt." "Germany is the polar opposite to the United States in terms of costs of higher education. Germany’s higher education system is entirely publicly funded and its 2.4 million students pay absolutely nothing in tuition fees. Tuition fees in Germany were originally abolished in 1971, though they made a brief comeback from 2006 to 2014, where they averaged at €500 ($630 USD). But due to massive unpopularity, they were once again abolished." MAGA and trump are drivers of future economic stupidity! -
Meanwhile in the NFL: "A half hour prior to Tuesday night’s kickoff in Baltimore, the Ravens wide receiver tweeted that he was pulled from pregame warmups and had received a positive COVID-19 test." This is tonight's game The game goes on because... well in the NFL the game must go on!

Spreading BS and spreading covid, yep thats the trump WH.

I understand that, but as Wendy and Ken say W/O the court of public opinion looking down on Dike, the lady of justice. The evidence of victims never makes it to the scales.

"In 2016, when General Yeager was asked on Twitter what made him want to become a pilot, the reply was infused with cheeky levity: “I was in maintenance, saw pilots had beautiful girls on their arms, didn’t have dirty hands, so I applied.”... He flew P-51 Mustang fighters in the European theater during World War II, and in March 1944, on his eighth mission, he was shot down over France by a German fighter plane and parachuted into woods with leg and head wounds. But he was hidden by members of the French underground, made it to neutral Spain by climbing the snowy Pyrenees, carrying a severely wounded flier with him, and returned to his base in England.... On Oct. 12, 1944, leading three fighter squadrons escorting bombers over Bremen, he downed five German planes, becoming an ace in a day. In November, he shot down another four planes in one day.... He was chosen over more senior pilots to fly the Bell X-1 in a quest to break the sound barrier, and when he set out to do it, he could barely move, having broken two ribs a couple of nights earlier when he crashed into a fence while racing with his wife on horseback in the desert.... He commanded a fighter wing during the Vietnam War while holding the rank of colonel. He flew 127 missions, mainly piloting Martin B-57 light bombers' Legend.

Shit, just cancel it by EO. Use the same language to investigate Barr, the trump family and trump in a new special council investigation. Nothing that Barr has ever touched in his entire time as a trump hack was done in the interests of law. "Beyond that one case, however, it has never been clear what exactly the Durham investigation is looking at. Many of the key figures in the Russia probe have never even been contacted. And the exhaustive inspector general’s report on the Crossfire Hurricane probe does not give rise, beyond Clinesmith’s case, to implications of criminal conduct." Then Barr, Durham can climb aboard their boats and get back to real fishing.

Trump is feasting on a dying GOP, Juan Williams
Phil1111 replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Of course its not chess. trump can't remember the rules of checkers. Its all about the money. He's had a taste of Washington money, swamp money where you collect millions for doing nothing but peddle worthless claims and lies. Then wait for tax free money to pour in. The GOP has no backbone but the odd person stood up and called him out. In his mind thats treason. In his party everyone says yes, pays homage and sends in buckets of cash. He gets rallies where every lie and threat is cheered. -
Juan Williams is a FOX media reporter. This story is the latest from The Hill so no paywall. ' "But what if this backstabbing among Republicans makes sense to Trump? What if Trump’s lie that the election was stolen is fatal to the GOP but gives him new life with an infusion of money from the hard-right conspiracy crowd, the most gullible Republicans? Then there is a method to the madness. Here’s the proof that Trump may be on to something." Williams never comes right out to a end game of all this trump maneuvering. “Save America.” is trumps new PAC that has raised over $127 million that trump can spend anyway he wants. What if he is trying to kill the GOP and start a new trump branded political party? Split the trump Save America party off while cannibalizing the GOP at the same time. If he does everything possible to damage GOP senators in Georgia. He can bide his time till midterms, all while peddling more conspiracy theories. Its a merry Christmas in Moscow, Tehran and Pyongyang.

Well clearly the Marines are a bunch of idiots. The army fools. From your story: "rifles from Ruger, Mossberg, Tikka, Savage and others, and they all produced groups between 0.3 and 0.5 inches at 100 yards using factory match ammunition. None were custom or cost more than $2,000, and yet they could hold 1 MOA out to 1,300 yards or even a mile with proper ammunition." from your story yet "With a capable shooter, many factory ARs will hold the “1 inch at 100 yards” standard using match-grade ammunition. " So 1/2 as accurate for the same cost and no gunsmithing. The British special forces and the Russian ones using the same bolt rifle!. Dummies! You should tell David Tubb and Randy Wise that they are using the wrong actions. "2019 NRA ELR Nationals at Camp Atterbury, there were many impressive displays of Extreme Long Range marksmanship, but none better than Randy Wise’s remarkable three-shot string at 2158 yards that set a new ELR Central world record. Randy made a COLD BORE HIT and two follow-up hits on a steel target at 2158 yards. Remarkably, Randy set the new ELR record using a stock Savage action and Savage factory barrel chambered for the .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge." I don't think they have chambered the AR in .338 LM?

Brents admitted to owning a Ruger RPR before Which is Ruger's long range and precision, bolt action rifle. Yet he wants the naive to believe the aforementioned semi-autos are also as accurate. They are not in the same class. Wants the naive to believe that semi-autos are good guns for hunting when bolt action rifles are likely 85% or better, the weapon of choice for hunting in America. Brent doesn't choose to cite the use of Remington's 742, 7400, semi auto hunting rifles. He cites the AR-15 and derivatives of it. The DPMS isn't available in 30-06, 7mm mag, .300 WM and other popular hunting calibers. Instead the restrictions of those actions and the calipers that they will function with. Are all acceptable as long as they take 20-30 round mags.

He's 76 and the trump inner circle keeps playing with fire.

I must be inherently heartless. Because I personally like that entire concept. Stupid and corrupted people who don't value the character of your constitution. Seeking to subvert it. Donating cash to crooks like trump and the current GOP. Are a match made in evangelical heaven. Which is different from trump tenants swindled by trump rent/tax scams. Different from students of trump university who honestly thought they may learn something. Different from the investors and bankers that thought trump entered into bona fide contracts.

I get confused by the trajectory of your arguments. You first post that the debate has gone off your original subject. Then post about the 30-30 v .270. Then link a relatively inaccurate $1400 semi-auto based upon military designs. Presumably because its semi-auto and takes high capacity mags. The fact that the pandemic has driven new gun purchases. Purchases by new gun owners that has been referenced by yourself and others. Yet you keep driving those purchases back to semi-auto rifles with military origins. All of which take high capacity magazines. None of which has seen a new rush of buying. Driven by politics. Just come out and say you love semi-autos with high capacity mags. That you'll use any straw argument to justify ownership and new purchases of them. Its OK. We'll still love you!
-
So you're in favor of banning handguns because of their inherent danger and misuse? What about the .454, .50 cal hunting revolvers? You make good points in the gun debate. But not in this thread. AR's see 99.9 percent of their use in the US shooting steel, plinking, etc. with almost no hunting.
-
Sorry Joe is right here. Sure you can hunt deer if you handload a good bullet. But anything under a .270 is a compromise and you know it. I'm sorry but even though you're right its legal in only one or two states. It should be illegal and its disgusting. No self respecting sportsman shoots animals after pursuing them with a helicopter, vehicle, etc. Its not sporting, fair and nothing paints hunters in a worst light. For the uninitiated none of the pigs shot from a helicopter are retrieved for food. There are commercial trappers that trap live pigs for commercial meat sale.
-
Wrong, as usual. Right. The .223 is second in popularity to the .22-250 for varmints. Varmints being gophers to coyotes. Its also the minimum caliber for deer in many US states although many define it as center-fire minimum.

"Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy complained Monday of being the victim of six years of "slander", in his first remarks to the court at his landmark corruption trial. Sarkozy became France's first modern head of state to appear in the dock last week, going on trial on charges of corruption and influence peddling. The 65-year-old right-winger, who also faces trials in two other investigations, is accused of offering judge Gilbert Azibert a plum retirement job in exchange for inside information on an inquiry into his campaign finances. "I don't accept any of the slander that has been levelled at me over the past six years," France's leader from 2007 to 2012 told the criminal court in Paris." What Happened When Other Countries Prosecuted Former Leaders? It happens all the time, just not in the U.S. Slate Dec. 2, 2020 Oh well, trump was right when he infamously said he could kill someone and get away with it.

"Austria’s former Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser was sentenced to eight years in prison Friday for his involvement in a major corruption scandal, local media reported. The criminal court of Vienna said Grasser was guilty of providing insider information to a private investor ahead of the sale of 60,000 state-owned apartments in 2004. Grasser pocketed around €9.6 million for his part in the deal, the court heard during the trial, which lasted three years and became known as the BUWOG Scandal after the company involved." Meanwhile in the Banana republic there is talk that the the "rule of law" doesn't apply to its elected kings. Cue Lee Greenwood - God Bless The USA Because even though the US ranks 28th on the world corruption index. At least for the USA its "FREE" and blessed by "GOD".

Seventy to eighty percent of republicans believe the election was stolen. Nothing has changed since any of these court rulings.

Pastor of California Megachurch That Defied Lockdown Order Dies of COVID-19 "A California pastor has died from COVID-19, five weeks after his megachurch reopened in defiance of the state’s ban on indoor religious services...the church nevertheless ignored a mid-July order banning indoor church services. Church officials insisted to the Times that Byrant didn’t come to church after he developed symptoms but they weren’t sure when the pastor was last in the church." In other religious news: Michigan Pastor Tells Congregation to Catch COVID-19 and ‘Get It Over With’ "A Michigan pastor has encouraged his congregation to contract the deadly coronavirus surging across the state so they can just “get it over with.” Bart Spencer, a senior pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Holland, made the stunning suggestion during a Nov. 14 sermon. “COVID, it’s all good. It’s OK. Get it, get it over with, press on,..Lighthouse Baptist Church is still holding in-person services without masks or social distancing mandates. “We trust our people to make their own decisions,” Spencer said.." No wonder trump has so many supporters from the religious right.

Thank goodness there is a professional, non-political FBI.

You must have done well in high school drama classes. You don't need semi-autos or high capacity mags for self defense. If you think you do you need some more range time and less time on the x-box.
-
Your logic, your misuse of historical perspective is so fatally flawed as to defy reasonable response.

IMO training is a smaller segment of the issue. I would have no issue with Brent owning the aforementioned full auto AR as long as his mental stability precludes misuse. With Brent's training should he decide to kill as many people as possible. He could likely formulate a plan to do so without guns. The problem with high capacity magazines and mental instability is that dangerous public outcomes are far more lethal. Western countries have kept high capacity magazines and more lethal guns under tight restrictions. The US hasn't. Thats why in France there are knife attacks instead of mass killings. In Germany vehicular assaults. In Canada attacks with lever action rifles and not the AR with 30-60 round mags. There seems to be an acceptance that the will of the majority will be defeated by the gun lobby during Biden's administration. Brent objection noted. That may change with the next mass shooting. Which seems overdue given US history. What won't likely change is the power of the gun lobby in the US.

A new action in the State Supreme Court in Brooklyn, has been filed by tenants in trump owned properties. The scam was started by trump's daddy, Fred, who increased the cost of renovation materials at least 20% above the cost of purchase. All to increase the cost of rents in their buildings and circumvent rent control laws “You try so hard, and to hear something like this, it breaks my heart, because I believe they are just taking advantage of poor people,” Leonie Green, a Westminster Apartment tenant for over 22 years, told The Times. This one is obviously different from the "Consulting Fees" fraud investigation by the SDNY. Into the entire trump crime family. Perhaps a pardon for daddy is also in the works?
