Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Cross

I concur on Ron, but only some of trump's followers are starting to see the giant con for what it is. "For Eric Metaxas, a prominent evangelical public intellectual and Christian radio host, knowing that the 2020 presidential election was stolen is like believing in Jesus. He just knows in his heart that it is true. During a prayer call with evangelical supporters of President Donald Trump on Tuesday night (Dec. 2), Metaxas said that God is on Trump’s side in the fight against a “stolen” election. “It’s like somebody saying, ‘Oh, you don’t have enough evidence to believe in Jesus.’ We have enough evidence in our hearts. We know him and the enemy is trying harder than anything we have seen in our lives to get us to roll over, to forget about it.” Once a Trump doubter, Metaxas has become one of the most devout Trump followers. “I’d be happy to die in this fight,” Metaxas told Trump earlier this week, during a call with the president broadcast on his show. “This is a fight for everything. God is with us.” In recent days, Metaxas has become a chief evangelist for conspiracy theories about the 2020 election on his daily radio show and social media feeds — assuring his audience that Trump will triumph because Jesus is on the president’s side." Above from Dec,3 2020 Religion News service. I found it amusing that he is considered a "public intellectual" emphasis above mine. When he peddles the trump line. But there is an entire area of classical religious study that even awards PhD's to thumping the bible, koran, etc! It should be noted that this religious broadcaster has the bully pulpit of radio. He also uses the same language that Ron uses: God, trump and we are in this together and its a "fight for everything". -

While trump took time off from his busy golf schedule on the weekend to take a helicopter flight over his demonstrating supporters in Washington. Some of those fine people visited several Black churches to vandalize and set fires. "Police on Sunday said they were investigating the incidents at the Asbury United Methodist Church and Metropolitan A.M.E. Church as potential hate crimes, which one religious leader likened to a cross burning." Intimidating Blacks, churchgoers, etc. is all a part of the GOP election and post election playbook. Sen. Kelly Loeffler's (R-Ga.) took time to have pictures taken with her supporters: Chester Doles, a reported former leader of the Klu Klux Klan who was sentenced to prison for the 1993 beating of a black man, according to The Baltimore Sun. The AJC reported that Doles also has ties to the Hammerskins, also known as Hammerskin Nation, defined as the "best organized, most widely dispersed and most dangerous Skinhead group" -
A further hypothesis on the popularity of Trump
Phil1111 replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, many of trump's tribe believe he is untouchable and they desire the same walk in life. “Moral Tribes: Emotion, Reason and the Gap Between Us and Them.”. deals with these issues. Although the book was authored in 2013 before the trump phenomenon. "Trump’s blatant bigotry, misogyny, and incitements to violence make him completely unacceptable to liberals and moderates. And, thus, his comments function like gang tattoos. He’s not merely saying things that his supporters want to hear. By making himself permanently and unequivocally unacceptable to the opposition, he’s “proving” his loyalty to their side. This is why, I think, the Republican base trusts Trump like no other." quote from author of that aforementioned book. Like women who see the ideal mate as a tough biker dude on his Harley although they have never personally known one. Many of his base like the ideal of a middle index finger in the face of the government, of liberal elites who tell them what to do and how to act. aka trump talk. Reason is for someone else because emotion is the formulator of decisions for them. The entire romance novel industry is based upon such story telling. People(read women) are swept away from their meaningless lives by a hero/savior. Religion is similar and although trump has delivered nothing. His tattooed tribe, AR-15s at the ready deems his failures to deliver a theft from him and them. Evangelicals continue to pray for their day of deliverance. trump tribalists pant in anticipation of their unrealized victory over liberals. I'm sure for them there is a sexual domination of liberal women somewhere in that thinking because: "Recall Trump’s advice to Charles Foster Kane, the protagonist of “Citizen Kane,” a favorite film of his. When the documentarian Errol Morris asked the future president in 2002 if he would give any advice to the fictional Kane, a man torn apart by hubris and his obsession over his own work and legacy, Trump’s response was simple: “Get yourself a different woman.” Trump couldn’t have been less interested in psychoanalyzing Kane as a proxy for Orson Welles, or a metaphor for unchecked power and ambition. Kane merely served as a lens through which Trump could implicitly present himself as the savvier, ideal version of the fictional tycoon. (After all, he’s followed his own prescription for Kane twice now.)" -

Thats poorly stated. I would not use Stephen Miller to define any center of political views. Not that Lippy had that view. Other than Miller has certainly managed to draw out the worst of the trump right. Then redefine it as GOP/Mitch McConnell/trump. -

So Miller is your standard. Enough said. -
They run a typical coin precious metals scam. This is their website.. Note the endorsement from Bill O'Reilly. The first clue is they don't list purchase prices for coins, for small bars, the current daily price of gold and silver. The price is "call us". So they sell all kinds of "collectable and special minting" gold and silver coins. All of which sell at a premium over the face value of gold and silver. None of which will ever be collectable. This is the type of website that trades gold and silver at minimums over the current value. They will always have a constantly adjusted price over(for buying) called the premium and a price under the daily market price(if your selling). They typically sell US eagles, Canadian Maple leafs and South African Krugerrands. When a pigeon calls the idea is to sell them "collectable" precious metal coins at huge premiums over their actual precious metal value. This is the result from the BBB: "Hartford sales misrepresented the value of silver coins which resulted in a $**** loss. I contacted Hartford Gold to purchase silver bullion on 7/26/19. The invoice Hartford salesman, **** ******* insisted I purchase JFK Silver Half Dollars. I objected, but **** persistently insisted the JFK coin was a better purchase option and was worth a great deal more than silver bullion. This claim was totally false. Ultimately, at **** ********* insistance I invested $**** in JFK's, paying $10/half dollar. I later learned that these coins were worth $7.50/half dollar at the time of purchase. Clearly, **** ******* Hartford misrepresented the true value of these coins." Keep checking their site because rumor has it Donald trump will be endorsing it as at January 21, 2021.

So the 13 death row inmates trump has ordered to be executed. Where does god and trump fit into that equation? -
Does that mean he will order his sycophants to take it?
-
Godwins law is a red herring. IMO the trump Death Clock is reasonable approximation of his absence of leadership within the equation. Even today there are testimonials from acute care nurses that their patients refuse to believe that covid isn't fake news. As the patients take their last breaths and die. At this point in the pandemic there should be no doubts about the causation of the virus for deaths. Nor any doubt as to who from the US is responsible for the denial of it all. By kill more, I meant US deaths as Soviet Union, European deaths, Jews, etc. are obviously not US citizens.
-
The potentially embarrassing questions arising from an anticipated examination for discovery and lack of merit of the action met the road.
-
In that case America's MAGA man has now overseen a government whose population has suffered more deaths than in the entirety of WW2. Because US combat deaths are listed at 291,557. While the trump death clock sits at 174,683.“I think January is gonna be terrible, because you’re gonna have the Thanksgiving surge super-imposed upon the Christmas surge. So it’s entirely conceivable that January could be the worst,” Fauci There is the possibility that trump will kill more than Hitler by the time January 20th rolls around.

Poor Donald, his ego is taking a beating first "sleepy Joe" beats him by the largest margin in history in the elections. Then he loses every case in the courts, except one. Now Time Person of the Year. For those who are uninitiated with trump's obsession on this subject: "On Wednesday, Time magazine named Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, 16, their Person of the Year, noting that she “represents a broader generational shift… where young people are demanding change urgently.” This news did not sit well with President Donald Trump, 73, who expressed his displeasure in his usual way, by angrily tweeting. “So ridiculous,” the president wrote in response to a congratulatory tweet to Thunberg. “Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!” "Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named 'Man (Person) of the Year,' like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot," Trump tweeted on Friday evening. "I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!" Richard Stengel, a former Time editor, responded by tweeting: "Hate to tell you but that PROBABLY means you're NOT Person of the Year. They just wanted a photo shoot. But I'm sure you still have that fake TIME cover somewhere in storage."

After about a dozen posts and another 1/2 dozen links you finally found a supporting fact for one of your representations. Assuming its a 4.9" bagel(.98 MOA). Congratulations. You still haven't admitted that the AR semi-auto action is 1/2 as accurate as equivalently priced factory bolt action rifles. Except you edited that representation from your posts. Never mind. "You seem to be making the claim that the AR is not a suitable hunting platform as it is not available in calibers powerful enough or capable of accuracy precise enough for the task. I think I have proven, beyond a doubt, that you are incorrect on both accounts." No I responded to You on those issues many posts ago: You said "Wrong on many levels. First, The .223 Remington is a rifle cartridge, originally developed in 1957 as a commercial hunting bullet for small mid-western varmints; with the first rifle chambered for it coming out in 1963. It has continued to be a popular civilian hunting cartridge. The 5.56 is a slightly modified .223 in fact they can be used interchangeably in most rifles. The.223 Wylde splits the difference. Second, the AR platform can accommodate a variety of calibers barrel length and optics by swapping out the upper receiver. From the modest .22lr to the massive .510 Winchester Short Magnum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AR_platform_cartridges" I said in response; "Right. The .223 is second in popularity to the .22-250 for varmints. Varmints being gophers to coyotes. Its also the minimum caliber for deer in many US states although many define it as center-fire minimum." Even when I agree with you, you can't seem to keep track of the holes in your logic. It seems as if you're so set to refuse that you have made a mistake in syntax or fact. In premise or train of thought. That .... never mind. I noticed you never addressed the substance of your thread nor any link, nor the unsubstantiated references to Biden as a salesman. For guns or ammunition sales in 2020 or the 2020 election cycle. You reference three or more of your posts which have ALL stated that Covid and not Biden are responsible for increased gun sales. Covid and lockdowns responsible for back-orders and shortages in delivering guns and ammo. Wanna start?
-
I guess it could sustain the attention of evangelical children. But there are other similar historical maps that even predate Adam! I even found one for Mark so he can better understand Islam.
-
I'll tell you what. Don't call me ignorant and i won't call you ignorant. The AR is a short action cartridge. The 7.62 is a medium length cartridge and a 30-06. .300 WM is a long/standard length actions. An AR action cannot chamber a 7.62/ .308 length round and will certainly not chamber a .338 LM. You continue to mix custom and custom gunsmithed rifles with standard rifles in a failed attempt to make a point. You did this for a year in your climate change thread and you insist on doing it here. If a mil spec M4 is a standard AR and its not. Its designed to shoot 2 MOA with mil spec ammunition. Which is 10 inches at 500 yards. A bagel is about 5" wide. You yourself quoted a article to make you point about accuracy.Between semi auto and bolt action rifles. If you can't be bothered to read your own quoted articles. Can't endorse or support whats represented within them. Why do you quote them? Furthermore you prefaced your link with the statement "You simply don’t know what you are talking about." I wasn't going to respond to your ignorance and insults but then you went and did it once again. So I'll quote from the latest story you bring forth to support your thread. Quote from YOUR story" Gun and ammo sales in the U.S. hit a record high in 2020 — and the crazy year is not done yet. The record-setting highs in 2020, set for various reasons, namely COVID-19 and the lockdowns that followed, have led to a gun and ammo shortage. “We saw it coming earlier in the year,” said Gold Mine Pawn and Gun owner Price Cook. “Once the lockdown went into effect in March, it started. We were selling more guns and ammo to people who never brought guns before. It has just continued and continued and continued. Every time something happens, everyone comes in a buys a little more.” The lack of production due to lockdowns and social distancing protocols have made the shortage of guns and ammo worst." You can move your goalposts again and once again, but your supporting arguments have more holes than a Kansas gopher town.

Zoomer Urges POS Biden to Forgive Student Debt via Exec Order...

Yeah a friend of mine was a "operating engineer" i.e. a grader and dozer operator on pipelines. Massive overtime, they all lived in trailers and collected $100 a day living allowance(30 years ago). All Union jobs and after 3-4 months work would take the rest of the year off collecting unemployment benefits. New Chevy truck every year, etc. etc -

Upper education is a driver of future economic growth. Price Of College Increasing Almost 8 Times Faster Than Wages 'There is a tremendous disconnect between the rising costs of education and the flattening of wages, which is only making it harder for graduates to make ends meet while paying back staggering amounts of student loans. So What Is the Impact Of This Disconnect? This combination of a boom in student loans and nearly static wage growth helps explain why so many young adults are drowning in student debt." "Germany is the polar opposite to the United States in terms of costs of higher education. Germany’s higher education system is entirely publicly funded and its 2.4 million students pay absolutely nothing in tuition fees. Tuition fees in Germany were originally abolished in 1971, though they made a brief comeback from 2006 to 2014, where they averaged at €500 ($630 USD). But due to massive unpopularity, they were once again abolished." MAGA and trump are drivers of future economic stupidity! -
Meanwhile in the NFL: "A half hour prior to Tuesday night’s kickoff in Baltimore, the Ravens wide receiver tweeted that he was pulled from pregame warmups and had received a positive COVID-19 test." This is tonight's game The game goes on because... well in the NFL the game must go on!

"In 2016, when General Yeager was asked on Twitter what made him want to become a pilot, the reply was infused with cheeky levity: “I was in maintenance, saw pilots had beautiful girls on their arms, didn’t have dirty hands, so I applied.”... He flew P-51 Mustang fighters in the European theater during World War II, and in March 1944, on his eighth mission, he was shot down over France by a German fighter plane and parachuted into woods with leg and head wounds. But he was hidden by members of the French underground, made it to neutral Spain by climbing the snowy Pyrenees, carrying a severely wounded flier with him, and returned to his base in England.... On Oct. 12, 1944, leading three fighter squadrons escorting bombers over Bremen, he downed five German planes, becoming an ace in a day. In November, he shot down another four planes in one day.... He was chosen over more senior pilots to fly the Bell X-1 in a quest to break the sound barrier, and when he set out to do it, he could barely move, having broken two ribs a couple of nights earlier when he crashed into a fence while racing with his wife on horseback in the desert.... He commanded a fighter wing during the Vietnam War while holding the rank of colonel. He flew 127 missions, mainly piloting Martin B-57 light bombers' Legend.
