  1. I've got a boat too It has better fuel economy than all of your boats and planes put together.
  2. Brent! you're going to get a stroke with all that mental gymnastics. Overall US consumer debt is $2 trillion higher than at the last US recession. You said that (some) consumers had $2 trillion in the bank. So that means Americans that don't have money are $4 trillion deeper in debt. The walls must be high in your gated community.
  3. GOP talking points for midterms.
  4. In Canada its family & friends. No history of violence permitted. A drunk driving conviction is ok. But any violence is the end of the application. While Ar-15s and versions of it are on a pre-ban order.i.e. not banned now but can't be sold, or used. There is a whole new industry making guns that are very similar. But with different names so they are legal for sale. Personally I think that you should be licensed for shotguns, rifles, handguns, Assault/weapons/Ar-15s All separately. With a year or a couple between each type of endorsement/ownership. "Licenses to acquire a weapon in Switzerland require the applicant to be at least 18 years old with no criminal record, and must have no cause for suspicion that the weapon will be used for harm or violence. An acquisitions license is valid for 6-9 months and is usually valid only for the acquisition of a single weapon. Licenses are doled out on a local level, and they are not given lightly. Cantonal police, who approve or deny licenses, are known to consult psychiatrists, require proof that the applicant is not addicted to drugs or alcohol, contact police in any cantons where the applicant has lived previously, and even interview personal acquaintances before granting an acquisition license. Carrying licenses can be obtained for gun owners who want to take their gun with them on a daily basis, but they must first demonstrate a need for the weapon (self-protection or protection of others), and pass both a theoretical and practical exam regarding gun safety and usage. The practical exam tests the user’s ability to load, unload, and operate the gun, and the theoretical section tests knowledge of types of weapons and ammunitions, security and safety measures, and perhaps most importantly, gun laws and consequences of criminal acts with a firearm. Most gun owners in Switzerland don’t have a carrying license unless they require it for work, such as in the case of police officers and security guards."
  5. They would certainly never think about how high gas prices in the 80% of developed countries. Where prices are higher than in the US. Affects the poor in those countries. Wait, there are less poor people in those countries. Where gas prices are higher than the US. Because they use those taxes for social programs to help the poor. Oh well. At least they will have midterms. To vote on climate change, gas and guns. If those poor people would just work harder. Get an education, stop smoking weed, drinking, having 10 kids, ......
  6. THANKS, I was worried that both of you were concerned about the poor all of a sudden!
  7. The reasons from biologists is that animals will view people as food sources. Then habituate roads where they can be struck and killed. Teach their young to expect food from people. Leading to their mortality from hunters when they leave the protection of the park. When they lose the sense that people are also predators. Also become aggressive when food is not forthcoming. By breaking into cars, tents, cabins, etc. Once people leave in the fall they just naturally disperse looking for new food sources. For bird feeders. A danger can be transmission of diseases from an unnatural density of birds. Or other animals that would normally not congregate. On the positive side there are the cases where stupid people walk up to grizzly bears to feed them. Then get eaten. Walk up to wild lions to feed them. Same outcome.
  8. Above US household debt to GDP is at historic highs. At least GOP members and supporters came out on top with $$$ in the bank. Recessions just bring on some good deals off the backs of the poor. Right Brent? Is that $2 trillion attributed to trump? Or to President Biden?
  9. That really pissed me off when the Columbine Colorado shooting happened. The cops arrived and had to wait for others to gather to enter the high school. Because entering as a group was the procedure. I'm sure I posted something in these forums about how pissed I was. Subsequently the procedure was changed and it became. Get to and engage the shooter ASAP to prevent the shooters ongoing actions. Then there was a shooting at a Florida school where some cowardly cop refused to enter the school. He subsequently was fired for cowardice. Wait I have a vision...... Republicans have acted on school gun violence. They have put bars on all the windows. To keep out intruders. Only one solid steel bulletproof door. To keep out assailants. Now the cops will have to call a locksmith to open the school door. While the shooter does what he does. The cops go for donuts while waiting for the locksmith.
  10. Oh pleeeeease. Both you and airdvr are concerned about the poor. At the same time! I think I'm having an aneurysm.
  11. The front of the barrel is locked in place by the slide. As the slide recoils back to chamber a new round and eject the spent brass. The end of the barrel is unsupported. When the new round is chambered the slide will move fully forward so the end of the barrel is fully supported and locked into place by the slide. Its locked at the back where the chamber is by the frame itself. The front by the slide.
  12. Lumber is the same price as it was May 2018 The last quote that I referenced there was from the NAR. Are you saying that your own professional association lies? ...mmm....Must be republican!
  13. Above US existing home sales "Sales went down for a third consecutive month, in another sign the housing market is cooling, as higher home prices and mortgage rates have reduced buyer activity." New Homes Sales Tumble in April, Down Nearly 27% From a Year Ago Its ok though. Home Prices Have Begun Falling: Here Are the Cities Where They’re Down the Most Lower home prices help the poor!
  14. You're so silly. He's a republican so lying in in the DNA.
  15. For me he has got away with so much. Then he raked in $100 million since his election defeat from gullible republicans. Undoubtedly he will use that money for his legal bills and settlements. Then of course there is Jared and Ivanka. Currently drinking at the fountain of Saudi money. So discouraging the he-haw has run out.
  16. I had the same discussion with my sister. She is in 1150 sq ft with a full basement so 2300 sq ft and is single. I'm single in 2400 ft. sq. Its ridiculous. Sometimes people just don't know how good they have it.
  17. No disrespect. I know exactly how it can squeeze you. Now is the time to look for another job. Perhaps one where you can really grind the parties involved for tips. I can assure you its not going to get better no matter how you vote.
  18. I think he is too stupid for that. A sharp lawyer will stroke his ego a bit. Lead him down the garden path a little. A little lie will come out, a little bigger lie. Then bingo, in typical trump fashion a civil settlement is arranged.
  19. I have a good friend from skydiving and he is my shooting buddy. He is the only person that I personally know who owns more guns than me. He only watches FOX, he's a typical FOX viewer. A combination of Ron and Brent w/o the religion. I have learnt to tune out the FOX, right wing narrative when we visit. That and I steer the discussion away from politics, economics and the right wing drivel. I've just know him for so long that I overlook the right wing b.s. Western Canada is a bit like Texas lite. Lots of rednecks and adjusting to new immigrants is problematic for many. Especially if they live in rural areas. But to give an example of how FOX racism affects people. In the last decade or so he is oft to repeat anti-black memes and ideas. AFAIK and I've known him 45 years. He has never personally been acquainted with a black person. In the larger cities in Canada there are lots of new Black immigrants In addition new immigrants typically don't go to rural Canada. Because there are less jobs and cultural support groups for them.
  20. Midterms in America: In Alabama, Gov. Kay Ivey unpacked lipstick, an iPhone and something else from her purse in one campaign advertisement — “a little Smith & Wesson .38,” she said. A Republican candidate for governor in Georgia declared in a different spot, “I believe in Jesus, guns and babies.”
  21. So do you shoot 300 Blackout or what are they chambered in? I've owned several Ar-15s, Hk-91s. My Diebold Nixdorf walk in gun safe is 7' x 6' x 5' inside dimension, and weighs 6 tons.I bought my first handgun likely before you were born(1974). I know what I'm talking about. Perhaps you should proof your posts before you put them up. Because incomplete sentences and undeveloped paragraphs. Come across as though attention issues are at play. Your continual claims about the ignorance and assumptions of others here. Also comes across as having to continually defend some sort of personal identity issues. Do you own a shooting facility that uses NV and thermal scopes to hunt pigs at night for paying customers?
  22. I have no doubt that Brent would pass background checks. I have no reservations about him playing with Ar-15s. Alex comes across as impulsive. But background checks involve demonstrated mental instability or uncontrolled aggression. Outside America for a hunter to show up at a hunting camp to start a discussion and debate. That a .22 caliber semi auto like a Ar-15 is a good hunting weapon. Would label themself as either a novice or ignorant. They would most likely be shunned. A core component for a hunter is respect and consideration for what your hunting. To dispatch a game animal quickly so it doesn't suffer. The .223 caliber bullet which weighs 50-60 grains( 3.2 to 3.9 grams). Is almost insignificant to the average hunting bullet. Which is about .30 cal and 180 grains. A conviction for road rage and assault on a police offer. Would preclude a firearms license in almost every country. America excepted. "The U.S. is experiencing a huge number of road rage incidents.... In 2021, 45 people were wounded and 11 were killed in road rage shootings — in Dallas alone. Across the country, last year was one of the worst years on record for these kinds of deadly outbursts. This psychology intensifies when an individual is already prone to anger. There’s plenty of research that shows that people with a high, long-standing disposition toward anger have an inclination to view others’ bad driving behaviors as intentionally aggressive, viewing the other driver as a malicious perpetrator. These expressions of road rage are usually not the first time these individuals have committed an aggressive act. Antagonists may view the roads as their territory and lack the ability to control their temper. They also tend to be male. Obviously, driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis increases the odds of aggressive driving."
  23. Agree. There is a chasm of thought in America alone. White males like Brent and Alex think only of themselves. And its exclusively white males. If the constitution and their upbringing codified drunkenness. They would be drunk 24/7. Its not as if they are banned from shooting sports or hunting. But that their American and personal identity puts guns as a core component as to who they are. They refuse to admit that. Personal protection, constitution, rights, etc. are all just the memes that they are brought up with. The country, "America" is just a phrase. Even for someone like Brent that has served in the military. Its not about what is best for the country. Best to make America the greatest and best. To protect the weak, young and vurnable in America. Its I must have my Glock and my Ar-15. Its sad.
  24. Only in the minds of republicans. For anyone else it represents responsibility. Something that republicans give lip service to. But never actually hold as a core value.
