Yeah, really!!! In the world of mathematics especially - one has already learned the rudiments of real analysis in a 2 dimentional level and then he must go through all the bullshit in 3 dimensions? In my case, I think it was the prof - he was too old. It's not that he didn't care.... He was just too old, and I was interested in Ring theory. So I just lost all interest by then. Oh well...

Love partials and multiple integration! Once it got to 3 dimensions though, I lost interest to the point where I despised it. Advanced calculus was one of the most boring math courses I ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Banal and vapid are two words that come to mind. My favorite calculus topic was related-rates exercises. Couldn't get enough of it!!!

Well, now you know. I've known for 20 years!

Love FSM!

Once you get past learning derivatives (and integration, for that matter) phase it becomes a lot funner with neat word problems and applications....

Satan only exists when one believes in christianity... Therefore, in my mind, he's certainly non-existent...

This is a "trick" question. The original speed of the car is clearly "s," as is given. I used to give these kind of questions to my calculus students - and being a little scientifically naive, always sought a complicated solution to an "obviously" easy question. Again, the initial speed is "s.". Ooops, sorry, did not see your qualifications.....

The FSM that is..................... with its noodly tentacles.....................

Didn't you read the good book.... It's coming SOOOOOOOOON! !

I could not have explained it more precisely than you just did. But the mythology huggers will never accept it, as you know. Evolution does not imply "ever improving," as the holier than thou always insist with absolute ignorance on the subject. I love their "eye" theories. It is amongst my favorites. If they would ever decide to do a little research on how the eye in animal life evolved, they of course would call that bullshit too. "A flower blooms in the direction of the sun?" Hmm. I am a trainer of standardbred racehorses. This breed has had a tremendous refinement in its short existense - much more speed, more stamina, and bone refinement in the classical sense in such a short period of time. The reason? Breed the best to the best, hope for the best, and cull the others (don't breed them). I find it odd that such a breed could improve its capabilities so rapidly without invoking evolution.

First off, Walt, being someone who worked at an arab-owned beverage store when I was in college at E. 141st and Harvard Ave. in Cleveland (predominantly black neighboorhood) I feel compelled to correct you. It is: Gimme a foty a fo-five an a pack a Newpo! Make dat a foty a Billy D and a pint a T-bird! Now, before any minority attacks me for this, I have many a black friend - and I'm always teasing them about this, as they tease me with lots of "white" jabs. My friend Winny (black) never allows me to eat at a "white" KFC. "U MFs don't know yo chicken." He's right! Seriously, what Mr. West did is unforgivable. He clearly feels this way, but this should be kept to himself and friends and family - not broadcast on tv knowing it's going to be plastered there for everyone too see. He stepped way over the line on this one.

"Just $100?" Hey, that'll mean I will lose my currency - it sucks to be poor .

Okay, I see now.... Thanks! Could you tell me if they all had B.A.S.E. gear? The guy on the right seems to have skydiving gear (????) based on the the slower opening (?)
-
Now - as anyone can see by my jump number I'm very inexperienced, but didn't the girl who pulled first in this B.A.S.E. jump pull too early? Shouldn't the ones who jump ahead of the pack pull the latest so this doesn't happen? On the lighter side, I have to find funny the dialogue of those on the bridge. "She has line twists." "I wonder why." "She's twisted." Edit: By the way (experienced ones) am I correct in concluding that the "collision couple" had B.A.S.E. gear, but the other guy had skydiving gear?

Sorry, guys, could someone "clicky" this? www.compfused.com/directlink/899/

I posted this too. Disgusting. No jobs for them now I would guess.

Alcohol destroys families and drunk people suck
Everon replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
He's not saying it's better, he's saying it would do less harm to others (assuming, of course, the user is not destroying his family) - this is his point. -
You are stretching that a little and you know it. A Beretta 9mm, yes. No rocket launchers. Refute my religious arguments here first, and then we will discuss my (non)right to own plutonium.

Alcohol destroys families and drunk people suck

I believe you're overdoing it here - perhaps a bad experience? I'm in a business where there are many die hard alcoholics - and some of them are downright nasty (steal from others to drink, cause trouble for others, etc.) and they are nothing but trash. I myself drink regularly, and am fully aware of the health consequences, but I refuse to drive an automobile for at least 1 day after imbibing. I have no family, so my actions affect no one. I have not missed work in over 10 years (and I work every day), and I certainly cause no one any trouble. That's the difference - I am responsible. But judging from what I've seen, many are not, and these are the ones that really deserve strict consequences (lawyers with 7 DUIs with a drivers license, for example). -
Not at all, it's when they proselytize and try to incorporate it into the law that scares me. If the constitution were upheld to the letter, there would be no debate about school prayer and the tcs in government buildings, etc.
-
Being a very inexperienced student my instructor (whom I have the utmost respect for - over 5,200 jumps) put it this way: You are stepping out because you want to experience something that you find worth experiencing, and you accept the small risk because it justifies the reward. You have the time of your life, but the most important thing you must remember in any skydive is that there is something you have to do to save that life - that's your TOP priority.
-
Actually, you point out a very interesting psychological parallel here. The warnings were there, not nearly enough was done and then WHAM. Interesting.

My only hope is that whomever becomes chief upholds the constitution - period, and keep his religious beliefs and personal opinions to himself .
