Yep, I'm back from the caca and taking my R&R right now. Depends on money and solution. NetApps has some pretty cool stuff, but the price is high. Tapes are cool, but time to recovery is a pain. You can have it fast, cheap, or accurate.....pick any two. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

The NAS is a good idea based upon your $ limitations and legacy configuration. However, with NT you are going to become a serious baby sitter until you upgrade. I realize there are reasons not to upgrade, but sometimes (depending on how much spare time you and your IT department have) the cure can be worse than the disease. Give serious thought to when you want to implement this solution (before or after an upgrade from NT.) No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

Let me just repeat the bit that you obviously didn't read before penning that response: Nope, I read it all, and I stand by what I "penned". There is a diffence between a government official receiving $ under the table for personal use and the government knowing about and condonning the oil sales. You can split hairs, but what I wrote I wrote literally. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

So the nature of the charge outweighs the evidence? I'm still not convinced. I'm in that arena, and if someone discovered US citizens making a personal profit, you can better believe somone close to the source documents would have leaked them. It happens all the time. Names are purged to protect peoples' positions...not to cover up illegal wrongdoing. Now, could it happen? Yes, but trust me, it would have leaked out months ago if there was personal profitable involvement. However, this just gives the ranting conspiracy theorists something else to rage against. Funny as that was...there is 3 minutes of my life I'll never get back. AB caused liberal ADD. I'm still waiting for him to move out of the US (like he promised.) No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

LMFAO....so what should we have done...let the UN say "Stop, or well say stop again!" for the 15th time? So what if the US did nothing and got something for it? What would the alternative been, come out and condem it (like that does anyhting?) Seriously, if you think that this news changes anything, you are truly grasping at straws. Now if US government officials had profitted monitarily through this (like a whole lot of UN officials did), then you'd have an arguement. Sure he can. The entire mainstream media here (and abroad from what I read in the British tabloids and picked up on Skyy news) said it would be a horrific failure. Okay, first problem....Bush doesn't have bosses. He is the President of the US. He answers to the US citizens, but he was elected to do exactly what he is doing...and this is the give of a representative form of government (Federal Republic.) As someone who has been there 4 times since 9-11...the overwhelming majority of the people actually doing the work agree that this is the way to go, regardless of what anyone else prints or broadcasts. Again, you miss the point of the article. The author appears to be talking to the liberal press moreso that the liberal elite. If by point, you mean making the connection of WMDs (which has been done, just not in the quantities that the press is satisfied with). Remember, it wasn't that Bush was wrong...but everyone thought more would be found (and that still remains to be seen.) The facts are, he used WMDs against his own people (Kurds) on multiple occasions...and ignored 14 UN resolutions over a 10+ year period. No, the it's the writer's point to make. It would appear that you are the one missing the point...or hadn't that even crossed your mind? No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

So out of over 1 billion Muslims world wide, the educated, middle class Muslims that have access to Nobel prize opportunities are severely outnumbered by 12 million Jews? That in itself should embarrass the Muslim community. The answer begs a philosophical discussion, one that could probably lead to wonderful exchanges with the brain power out here. Someone mentioned that the muslim (islamic) community somehow stopped progressing and giving to modern culture and philosophy at some recent point in history. I'd take that a step further and suggest this occurred in multiple phases, most during the last 5 centuries with tremendous advances in industry and modern science. The past 100 years (oil producing) have lead to entire nations that don't have to work (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar to name a few.) These nations support their citizens outright, with oil and gas money earned from the sale of natural resources to western cultures. They hire third country nationals to run the country in almost every way. With that in mind, innovation is not a product of a person who is satisfied with their socio-economic status in life. Invention is the product of unreasonable men and women who dare to dream of doing better. Many of the extreme Islamic schools of though go directly against that type of progress. Whether it be through religious intolerance, fanaticism, or envy, the result is the same...entire nations where the majority of the citizen populace is content with the status quo. If you spoil one of your kids, and teach another to work hard and earn for his/herself, which one would you expect to give the most back to society? How about this....why not compare the numbers of contributors from each religion that would actually qualify for Nobels. At least you would have a better feel for the numbers that put out the effort. Is it a flaw to be motivated in different ways than say Western civiliation? I think raw facts are just that....come to your own conclusion. Look at advances in science, medicine, literature, arts... the fact-based conclusion is obvious, however distasteful. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

And Bush says no draft??? What do you call this?
jazzjumper replied to Segador's topic in Speakers Corner
It's called inactive Ready Reserves. And it's legal, and it isn't a draft. When you get out, you spend a period of time in the IRR, just for cases like this. It's not a random draft...it's part of your initial obligation (and yeah, its in that contract signed at enlistment.) No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -
See, this is the kind of comments that have no basis. It wasn't about oil, but about freedom. But oil can be used to help pay the cost. I don't see you make that leap. We don´t know yet, when the U.S leaves Irak we will see. Well, the cost to your country is nill. Frankly (and since I'm now over here actually doing the job), it's well worth it. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!
-
Where do you get your numbers from? I found we paid at least 18% of the first gulf war. I think we'll get money from Iraq oil eventually to cover some of the cost of this one as well. But hey, what is the cost of freedom? No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!

Navy Contradicts Kerry on Release of Military Records
jazzjumper replied to jazzjumper's topic in Speakers Corner
Okay, first Kerry says all his records are posted. Then he says he posted all the records they (the Navy) sent him. He ask them for his records, and posted all they sent him. There are 31 pages being withheld because he hasn't signed a SF 180, release of personnel records. Now here is where the spin doesn't work. If you, as a veteran, request your military records...the military sends them to you. FOIA restrictions don't apply to the owner of the records. So are we to believe that the Kerry Campaign sent a FOIA request to the Department of the Navy to release their candidates records? Hello??? So, now it's the Navy's fault that all of John Kerry's Navy records aren't on his web site? Thoughts? Clicky Side note...I deploy next week. You guys have to promise to give me lots of crap over the next 4 months to ensure I continue to remember the reason I'm in the Air Force (cause is certainly isn't the money.) Details are here. CBS Guard Documents Traced to Tex. Kinko's
jazzjumper replied to jazzjumper's topic in Speakers Corner
I think the point of the story was that, "...There is only one Kinko's in Abilene, and it is 21 miles from the Baird, Texas, home of retired Texas National Guard officer Bill Burkett, who has been named by several news outlets as a possible source for the documents..." So the link (from a disgruntled guard officer, who is also on Kerry's payroll) is made a bit stronger. Now here is a link that works. I guess my poll gets to the heart of what you feel after hearing all of it. The facts are all over the place....I mean the secretary who said she didn't type it but knows the substance is true? What the hell is that all about? I mean, we (the military) talks about all kinds of things to our bosses, especially ones we get along with. The frankness of a conversation could go like this but not be reported: PILOT: Sir, I've been asked to help on a political campaign and would like to pursue a leave of absense to work on it for a few months. COMMANDER(CC); Well, how many points do you have built up? PILOT: More than enough to satisfy my Guard committment for the fiscal year. CC: So the points aren't an issue...but what about returning to flying when you get back? PILOT: Since the deuce is slated to be taken out of service, I'd have to train on another jet. CC: What are your future plans, are you going to stick with the Guard, or maybe try to go active duty? PILOT: No sir, I think I'll separate once my commitment is up. CC: Well, then retraining on another aircraft is out of the question. We don't need to waste the resources on you if you're just going to leave. But you do have this flight physical that you need to accomplish to maintain your flying status. PILOT: Good point, but why go through the whole process if I'm not going to fly anymore? Once I get back from the campaign, I only have a few months of Guard committment left. I'll have to get recurrent on an aircraft that might be gone by then and then separate. Why not let the sticks who are going to stay around get the time. CC: Not a bad idea...we'll see how it all works out. ----------- Now, I'm not saying that is how it happened, but you could twist anyones words to mean what you want. Frankly, this is a discussion I've hear from pilots and others over the years, and there is nothing wrong with having them with your CC. Everyone who knew them says Bush and his CC had a great relationship, so there would be no reason to think Bush wouldn't be frank with him. It's as plausable as any other story I've heard of. The funny thing is, even if it were true this scenario would hold no ramifications even today for a guard pilot. This is what makes me believe that the Kerry camp attempted this to get focus off the Swift Boat Vets (which worked...but in a bad way.) And if you think Karl Rove is responsible for this... pass the blunt to the guy next to you. You've had too much. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! -

Dan Rather "memo's" report was fair and balanced
jazzjumper replied to Mirage63's topic in Speakers Corner
No, I've seen the reports, as well as his side stepping the reports later. I don't think it was fair or balanced. Well, they already have a history of retractions at CBS. It's happened more than once with fabricated memos, and don't you remember the pickup truck explosion that was setup for video? You guys? You mean conservatives? Come on...read that again and see if you really believe it. There are countless cases of 60 minutes fabricating crap and telling half truths. The issue this time is that it's designed to attempt to persuade an election. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit!
