I left out the type that thinks Skydivings the only place in the world worth inhabiting. Or did we already cover that.?

in reply to JoeT What you do make, about 20 jumps a year now based on your jump numbers and years in the sport? You're probably as dangerous as anyone on the DZ. Why don't you go get a set of golf clubs you loser. " 'oohh don't you just love it when you get a REAL bite........' I've had a multi varied life....I had 1000 jumps when I was 21 years old (DUR) and kinda felt like doin' a few other things for a while . In the meantime I kept up with things you might not've even thought about doing. any more little nasties out there?????? your provin my point for me. I love this sport Be good or be Good at it.

I contacted VAP and they suggested I share this with you.(attachment) Sorry if you have a different sense of humour to me Cheers

If you look closely you'll see there's two guys in there. That makes two fems each pick me for that load

You know what they say about assuming things don't you????? This thread is an attempt at showing up what I consider to be undesirable traits that exist in some parts of our sport . As a discussion the considered answers have been informative in an intelligent and mature fashion. The reactionary replies from what appear to be less level headed and naive viewers have been informative as well. Thanks to all ....and believe it not I CARE for YOU ALL some of you just don't have my respect. laterestin'

Relying on an AAD to save your life is not necessarily a good way to start in the sport of skydiving. If you don't feel capable of saving your own life you should consider not doing this as you will be put into situations where you will have to react in a manner that determines your survival. If you make a mistake in skydiving you CAN die. The AAD is not a cure all and relying on electronic gadgetry to save your life can be problematic by creating a false sense of security. Hope this helps .

in rep 2 'I wouldn't think of shooting the messenger, but I would consider asking him to go review all the outlandishly negative posts he has made these last few weeks. ' Review my negative posts? Have you read all my posts? I feel honoured. If they are ALL negative as you suggest then you may have a point ....however ...... I'm used to people who call others negative when they themselves are the ones who should be a having a little look in the mirror. Loopy ...aint it? I find YOUR replies to be apologetic & a bit more than pointless actually. As for the tasks you assign to me eg"Then I think you need to go through the fatality database, and show exactly where and how the kind of people you're talking about affected the outcome." ....mmm... I just might do that. Negative? Why ? For showing up negative behaviour.? I feel by doing this I can drag some of it into the light of day where it will fizzle and disappear in a vampiric puff of smoke. Any-one who takes on the 'baddies' does run the risk of being tarred wit' da same brush. Cheers for the more considered and mature replies I personally know of a whole string of incidents and fatalities that I feel can be directly connected with 'boozy bozo' behaviour. If you are not aware how this can happen then you have justified (to me ) why I've even bothered trying to SHARE. Being aware that such things are possible may just help keep you from out of such harms way. No offence meant 'Bozo' (Was that you picked me up off the ground that time?) laterest

If you're a Kiwi or a Pom it's obvious that they'd have to pick marmite even though they may argue about what marmite is better etc. etc of course the poms are always better and once the Kiwi's see the error of their ways they want to be poms to ....NOT. Any decent Aussie beggar hasn't even tasted marmite and so it's no question...Vegemite wins everytime. There's no question about good vegemite and bad vegemite its just vegemite. This keeps it simple for our little convict brains and taste buds. Vegemite..'product of Afailia' We know it and we love it I'm not apologising for vegemite OK?

inreply 2 "If you are doing risky activities, be prepared to pay. Its not the general populations responsibility to cover your ass. " If this idea were allowed to be par for the course there's gonna be a lot of rotting corpses around cause we as a society couldn't be bothered to go pick em up. Hopefully most of us still give a shit about injured people even if it was their own stupid fault they got into such a predicanment in the first place. Good samaritans or robbing skunks .... take your pick . There's probably other options even worse than just leaving them there and it wouldn't be the first time BASE mates have run & left their injured buddies to rot or die. When the people look like ants thats them eating you.

In reply 2 "Knowledgable, personable, well respected and firm in his commitment to DZ safety." If we can get the boozy bozo's to take a back seat we'll have something like what you describe .....people we can truly trust and respect in the knowledge that they really do have EVERYONE'S best interests at heart .......not just their own. Thanks for letting us know it is possible.

inreply 2 "16 August 1960, Capt. Joe Kittinger reached over 700mph. " Pity that we don't get to have a go . 700 mph birdie swoop you'd have to go back up a bit surely?? Were'nt he trying to prove that it'd be poss. for astronauts to bail out in some circumstances? he's a hero ..no doubt about it.

Yeah snowy no goey. I was also wondering how difficult it makes it if you have to hire gear from the Stav, Base Club ? Do you have to sit and wait for days if its busy? or can you do as much as you like without too much worry? Is a week at Kjerag enough if you just want to do a few leaps???

The idea here is to launch a 6-way linked tetra -hedron (3d triangular pyramid) and spread it out so that each bod makes up one edge of the pyramid. Perhaps a tail-gate aircraft would be best but no doubt with enough fore-thought it could be taken out of a side door. My feeling is that it would need to roll a bit to give it some degree of stability and to help hold it open. If you've ever front-looped a 3way cat continuosly you may have a feeling for what I'm suggesting. The piccies'll hopefully save me from trying to describe this. If you have a go or have done something similar ...let us know how it went .. perlease...

in reply 2 "Here is some of the well known ones:' That is such an excellent reply...thank you. Looks like some bods in California are already living in the future. I didn't realise there are so many ways to produce H2 . Cheers brOk3n I found your reply very well put.

WOW..... so that's what the skydiving photos in about 50 years are gonna look like with humans bustin' thru instead of aircraft Can't wait but have to.....

How cool skykittykat, And I was just beginning to think everyone had been brainwashed by these types. Now I realise there's another one out there ;- the type that doesn't let you have your own feelings. or let you express them without being personally attacked . Abusers make out it's the Victims fault.

As I indicated my only airlock experience has been with a Vengeance which was very inconsistent.

Another friend dead. Can someone help me to understand it.
Trae replied to homer's topic in The Bonfire
in rep to 'Can someone help me to understand how someone could get to this point. ' Heart felt condolences Homer, I too have lost friends to suicide (co-incidently 3 in the last few years). Me and my friends didn't see them coming but afterwards felt bad for not picking up on it. We beat ourselves up a bit (sometimes literally ) for not being bigger hearted towards these friends. Two of them may have had a bit of help (as in murdered ) and these mysteries have not been solved. I felt I should have been better equipped to intervene. However we were all caught off step. Now we have accepted that there are powers way beyond anything we can control no matter how experienced we are. I feel good when I think that at least their troubles in this life are at an end. It makes me feel better about it all when I realise that they are in the hands and heart of our creator who loves them more than we knew how. Don't mean to woffle on but wishing you the clarity that comes from having a heart that obviously cares and loves your friends even if you feel it is too late to show it. If you believe in a spiritual life as well as this physical life then you may sense their spirit still around you. Other people still remind me of my deceased friends & I know and feel that they are where they want to be. Thank you & Good on you for caring so much to post as you have in this forum. Trae -
Play the ball not the person dude. Any chip I have on my shoulder is being brushed off right now laterer

in rep to 'All skydivers deserve respect. ' Perhaps all the ones you've met do. All the ones I've met have started out having my respect but some have lost it due to their uncaring attitudes to people just like you and me. later

Concealed carry for law abiding US citizens to protect themselves with lethal force. Very few democracies around the world have this ability. Most others don't allow such to protect life and limb but sometimes will allow it if you have to protect large sums of money. Count your blessings..... all ten+1 of them.

What is the worst thing you have ever put in your mouth?
Trae replied to benforde's topic in The Bonfire
An oyster that had a thin broken bit of oyster shell in it . It sliced it's way round my mouth and then right down through my digestive tract and could still be inside me somewhere doing its evil deeds. Life has its little surprises.
