ok here's the story I was talking to a friend of mine who wants to jump but cant afford it and he loves to hear about my weekend adventures of danger and dareing. when all of a sudden this guy walks up and butts in on the conversation. he listens just long enough to realize we are talking about skydiving. then he spouts "yea I used to skydive" so i ask him "really? where?" he tells me of some mom and pop operation in Va. beach. i ask him the name of the place and he doesnt remember. so i ask him why he doesnt jump anymore. he replies that he had a really scary experience. the experience was on a 5 way he had forgotten his alti. and figured he would pull when everyone else did. but when he jumped they were in solid clouds and didnt know where everyone else was. so he pulls and he was so high that he landed off the drop zone. i ask him how many jumps he had at this point he told me 3. so using my powers of deduction i ask why would someone who only jumped 2 prior would be allowed on a 5 way did he even do a student course??? he tells me it was because it was a mom and pop dz and they said he would be ok. but the next story was even better to make a long story short he had a main/reserve entanglement and landed in a highway so he decided to give it up because it was too dangerous. why do people feel they have to lie about doing it before,better or faster than anyone else no matter what it is. people like this piss me off and i want to do nothing but point my finger in their face and yell LIAR!!!!!!!..for some reason i dont and i walk away dazed and confused about these people I am the light my son...What you seek is fire

ok here we go . i had a tib/fib fracture and crushed a few of the small bones in my ankle that was possably compounded then popped back inside i had a very good doctor that put me back together with a 6in plate and 7 screws. i was in a cast for 2 months and a brace for another 2.5 months and had crutches for the total time. i wasnt up to jumping for another 2 months and when i did i went for a tandem just to get in the air. when we landed i realized it was too soon cuz my leg hurt for another month after. so i decided to lay off until i was back to full duty to resume jumping. i didnt get back to full duty for a year and 5 months after the accident. and the military loves to get you back up and running as soon as possable. my advice is to take it easy and remember that if you dont let it heal completly before jumping again you could end up with some serious problems. drink plenty of milk (best with vodka and baileys irish creme). and if you are not pleased with your doctor get a second opinion. good luck and no they dont read charts doctors have terrible hand writing I am the light my son...What you seek is fire
