Officail: I am the biggest whuffo!
MB38 replied to trab1925's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Check out Brian Germain's "The Parachute and its Pilot" too. Great info in there. I really don't know what I'm talking about. -
Skydiving is free. It's those pesky plane rides... I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Why some jumpers (me) don't take others (you) seriously.
MB38 replied to jimmyh's topic in BASE Jumping
I say we all just bust out the rulers and get this over with. I really don't know what I'm talking about. -
Whatever, I have 43 jumps and I'm the best skydiver ever. I'm the safest, I'm the coolest and I'm the most badass. I'm gonna be flying my VX39 next weekend, my Xaos-27 is a little too slow for me right now. All you rookies need to step up and catch up with me. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Just tell them that you do it while landing to rub it in their face. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, exactly. It's a minor thing, but I just leave it on. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Well, removing the jacket is kind of a pain considering it requires partially removing the pants. Even with a two-piece suit I just unzip it and tie the upper part around my waist. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

I got lucky on a used flitesuit bomber freefly pants/jacket combo for $100 that fit me quite well. I didn't think it was possible... I'm 6'4" and fall slow as well. I looked around both online and at the dropzone and just got lucky one day. So if you don't have the cash to drop on something new right now... you might get lucky. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

It has about 4-6 inches of tight [waist 1] spandex that keeps it below the belt quite well. Sorry about the classy boxers, I didn't feel like changing. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. The rubber band on the belt was my doing, not because of a flaw in the design as much as a good idea gone bad. Hope this helps. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

I have the two-piece bomber freefly suit. I've yet to have it come untucked in freefall... though that's only about 20 sitfly jumps and some flips/cartwheels. No head-down experience. I'll post pictures in a few minutes to show how it tucks in. I can't imagine it coming out. I like it, but remember that I have zero experience with other suit designs or brands... I like it because it's what I have. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Right after the main pin is pulled, there is still the slack between your d-bag and pin... this could be considerable depending on the model. If the bag were to immediately fall out of the container with this slack present, there could be an issue. This is where friction staging comes into play. I think. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

738 I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Ehh, I was referring more to their C/CS mount and microlens cameras. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Check these guys out. I have a bunch of experience with their cameras and the quality is top notch [as long as you go for a camera of the appropriate resolution. Always stick with a company that specializes in the product you're looking for. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

It's not the speed that does it, it's the 9,000 foot elevation change in 60 seconds. Full face helmets aren't pressurized, so it shouldn't have a different effect than an open face helmet... unless I'm missing something. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

I say we all just fight about it on the intern-- oh, nevermind. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

What are you planning on using the camera for? You're about 198 jumps away from putting it on your head unless your profile is out of date. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Floating PUD? I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Wow, not even a "thank you"? Nope, but doesn't bother me. It was an interesting experience... I've formed such a habit of looking at every chest strap I ever see... on the ground, in the air... that when I saw one that was misrouted it was downright shocking. I think my heart skipped a beat before I told him. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
-
I caught my first misrouted chest strap on another jumper last week. I told him about it, he looked down at it, said "yeah" and fixed it. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Do not name or give locations of BASE sites. Do not post photographs identifying BASE sites. AAAAHH!!! You mean people jump off of the rock??? I really don't know what I'm talking about.

I bought a Bonehead Optik for myself at about 30 jumps and love it. Now I obviously don't have any experience with other helmets, so I fall into the "what I bought is the best" category... but it's a damn fine helmet. I really don't know what I'm talking about.

looking for simple answers for general questions
MB38 replied to srsand1960's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I would talk to your instructors about all of your questions. It's great to get information on here, but always confirm it. I really don't know what I'm talking about. -
MacBook Pro. With regards to it not shipping... as was stated elsewhere in the thread it is an announced product but not a shipping product. Like when you see a new car at the car show but won't be able to get it until next year... that sort of thing. They announced a ship date in February, which your order falls into.

You know, last night I was considering making a thread along the lines of "why are all stock patterns so bloody ugly?", having just the day under a purple, blue and white canopy. I really don't know what I'm talking about.
