Finally got to meet Broke, he came out to the Ranch yesterday and we destroyed two great skydives together. Fun guy - We jumped with another non-anorexic person, and the three of us caused a vacuum in the earth from the speed in which we displaced air. We're considering starting a team... Names we've thought of so far are either... Team Cruise Ship Team Clydsedale Team combined weight of Cleveland. Either way yesterday was such a blast. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

think about it this way, Andrea: When you're on a treadmill, the ground is moving for you. Your legs are simply running to maintain your balance. When you're outside, your legs are running not only to maintain your balance, but to propel you forward, since there's nothing else (treadmill belt) doing it for you. They say that a treadmill is about 7/10ths the workout per mile that a run outside is. And if you run early and stay hydrated, you can run in Florida. I've done it. :) Wanna do the Miami Half with me in January? :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Sensodyne. Heh. My grandmother uses that...

See if you popped a fuse - depending on what kind it is, it could be a $2.00 repair. If not, could be time for a new one... That's what credit cards are for! Of course, there could always be... you know... running OUTSIDE. I'm just sayin... _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

Yup. It'll be as hard as you once thought skydiving was. Or swing dancing. Or running. Or doing a triathlon. Or working on a ship. Or moving to San Francisco. Or moving to Washington, DC. Or winning dance competitions. Yeah. We're all completely worried for you. Best give up now, before you wind up acing this, too. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" Got a 2-point, $85 ticket for an "unsafe lane change" while picking up my mom at Newark Airport, of all things. Called Geico, they say I won't get any rate increase if I plead guilty. If I fight it, I have to drag my ass to Jersey tomorrow morning. Is there, other than losing $85.00, any reason to fight it? Will it affect my... anything? credit score, etc? Any thoughts? _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

I've jumped the Ranch in January, February, March... Cold as hell, but just wear gloves, and you're fine. And Under Armour. And perhaps a couple pairs of socks. But it's fun! And you've never smelled as fresh air as you do when you're open at 4k on a 20 degree day. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

OK. I know this sounds totally weird, but hear me out... Back in January, I got Tasered. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2606395#2606395 It was surprisingly interesting. And I can chalk it off my "to do" list. I found the whole experience well worth it, just from a learning standpoint. Does that make any sense? Anyhow, was talking to BlueSkiesKel, who told me that she was required to get Pepper Sprayed in the Coast Guard before she was allowed to carry it. So... I kinda want to know what that feels like, too. Am I totally weird for this? I'm not some pain-fetish guy or anything - really, I'm not... I'm just curious. It's not even a "makes me stronger" type macho thing - I just really am curious as to how it might feel. I'm imagining it like on a Friday night or something. Have a glass of wine to relax, and then do it - totally safe environment, plenty of water to flush out the eyes, etc... Have someone like Kelly or whomever do it - not alone, obviously. So now we get 100 people telling me how stupid I am, or how stupid this is... Or whatever. Go.
