  1. I bought my TiVos back in 2002. Sure enough, with a lifetime package. Couldn't upgrade to HD without losing my lifetime package and having tu buy a new one. Gizmodo is now reporting that for a limited time, you can but a new HD TiVo and upgrade to lifetime again for just $199, a few hundred or so bucks off traditional cost. Sweet! http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/tivo-hd/tivo-hd-lifetime-service-transfer-199-for-a-limited-time-309891.php _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 2. Actually, when it's oral sex, the girl usually DOESN'T see the coming. Therein lies the problem, I've been told. _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  3. This makes me homesick. I Laughed my ass off when he took his jacket off and threw it behind him. Go watch again...and again. Peter, how did the interview go? I missed your commentary. Was fun. Love that the hot blonde was on my side. Hee. http://www.prdifferently.com/2007/10/me-on-fox-news-.html _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 9. So last night was the ultimate treat - I got to have a home-cooked meal - in a home!! Skymama was the most wonderful person ever and opened up her home and family to me for the evening. I got to have an actual meal around an actual kitchen table. The chicken was divine, the little muffins that kept breaking apart were delicious, and the corn and and rice topped it off. But the best part was the company. Skymama has a truly wonderful family, and it was such a delight to spend time with them. And her daughter added me as a friend on Facebook. Hee! You know, with as much as I travel for work, something as simple as a home-cooked meal with friends becomes a luxury. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend an evening. Thank you, Andrea. I have a photo of all of us, which I'll post when Skymama gives me permission. Tonight... I meet Normiss! (Cue scary music.) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" 14. Chris: You gotta believe that everything happens for a reason. You're a fighter, even if you don't think you are. You've been stronger than 99% of the people I know for as long as I've known you. Being scared is OK. It means you're alive, and you're functioning well enough to know all is not right. Hell, anyone in your condition who WASN'T scared would have a hell of a lot more problems than you. You don't have to be angry or sad that you're scared. You're human. Just trust in the doctors, and know there's a reason for everything. Also know that you've got a ton of good people on here (including me) who you can turn to if you need to. Stay strong, Chris. Day by day. -Peter _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."

  22. So a PLF saved one or both my ankles this morning, and DEFINITELY saved one or both my wrists. I ran the Queens Half Marathon today. I was, as always, displeased with my time, (1:56:06) but whatever. It was hilly, and I fasted for Yom Kippur all day yesterday. (Yeah, I'm not asking God what's up with his timing on THAT, or anything.) Anyhow... A friend ran miles 7-finish with me. This friend is also a woman who's completed an Ironman Triathlon. We can all hate her now. Anyhow, she pushed me hard, and I was hurting. I was close to puking when I crossed the finish line. I don't know if it was that, or if I just stumbled, or if I tripped, or if I was tripped, or whatever, but next thing I knew, I was headed to the ground fast. It took me probably five minutes after the fall to realize - "Holy shit! I PLF'd!" I don't even remember doing it. Talk about muscle memory - As soon as I recogized that I was falling, I instinctively curled up, and sure enough, landed calf, butt, back, etc. Bounced back up, cursed, and checked my time. (Typical runner.) Amazing how ingrained that muscle memory becomes, huh? Looked at my body a few minutes later, the dirt patterns (love NYC cement, dirty even when it's clean) were perfect for a perfectly performed PLF. So anyway, had that not happened, I probably would have taken out a wrist trying to stop my fall. Argh. Anyway, yeah... a 1:56:06. Oh well. the next half one is Staten Island on the 21st. Then, the marathon. Which I'm still planning to do, assuming I don't die first. :) -Peter _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  23. All: Keynoting a conference next Friday in Albuquerque. Turns out the Balloon festival is that weekend too. So three questions. 1) Anyone from there? I'll be spending the weekend. 2) Balloon festival: Can I jump there? Anyone going/involved? 3) Any dropzones you can recommend there? Thanks! Oh, and I petted a $15,000,000 horse today... That was awesome: http://www.prdifferently.com/2007/09/what-a-15000000.html _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
  24. Expensive. Floor seats were over $200 a piece. And there was like, one 17-year-old kid there, as far as I could tell. Still wonderful, though. :) _______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
