Why not give this a try Flex Seal I wouldn't think that would work with gasoline? IT would think that gas would act as a solvent and go right through that stuff.
-
Ummm... Unless you fill the tank with water or an inert gas of some sort (argon was mentioned above) you are risking a big fireball if you do that. The gasoline permeates the metal. You can't wash it out. The heat from the welding will release vapors. That are extremely flammable. In 32 years as a mechanic, I've never had a problem with the process I listed, but I do agree that it still smells fairly strongly, but again, I've never had a flame up or anything.
-
Weld it! LOL! Actually, true! I think most of the Honda's have a drain plug, drain the gas, then you can take the tank out, spray all the remaining gas out with a garden hose to get all the source of fumes out, and if you know someone who's good with a MIG welder, or can braze it with a torch and brass rod, it can be welded. After welding, you'll need to paint the welded area because when you weld it, it burns the galvanizing off and will rust easily. Then, be sure to thoroughly dry the water out of the tank, reinstall the tank, and go back to the races! I've done many of them that way! Rat race that is!

2.5 nm from Nashville Intl, Directly in the Approach/Departure of 13/31, Most planes are around 500 to 1500, we don't even hear them! Meaning, we are so accustomed to them coming over, that we don't even flinch when they come over, AND, my land is next to a railroad track, again, doesn't bother us in the least! Just sayin!

Dude, you can bet she is already reading every post. Even the donkey stuff. Hell, maybe *especially* the donkey stuff. I do hope so!!! And the Cary Q sLyride criminals all those years thought I was crazy! LMAO!!

I think someone should email her a link to this forum so she can see what we all think of her! ohhh, wait! The clicking of the keys will be too loud!!!! LMAO!!

Obviously nobody bothered to proof-read the mission statement... Again, I'm not a lawyer, but it would appear that singling out one entity, type of person, or group, especially being as pointed towards their target as it is would certainly fall under some sort of discrimination, thus getting them in more trouble that they ever dreamed of causing the DZ's. I've never been to that airport, but since they obviously have Jet fuel, I would think that Small corporate jets would come and go, and I'm pretty sure they are much louder that an Otter! This sure does look like discrimination to me! http://citizensforquietskies.org/who-we-are/our-mission/

http://www.timescall.com/longmont-local-news/ci_27151652/longmont-hires-airport-attorneys I wonder how she came up with those calculations! 100 ft in 3 seconds, 80 mph at 300 ft! sounds like fabricated info to me! Not saying the planes are flying at those altitudes, but does she have, like a tower or something in or near her front yard that's 300ft tall to gauge from? Hell! If she does, we should all go base jump it! Just wonder what they would bitch about then! LMAO!

I guess I'm late for this party, and I just now found this thread last night, and have not read the whole thing yet, but from what I've read so far, it appears this bitch is only attacking the DZ's, and I think I saw something about a helicopter, so the question I have is, is that the only group she's targeting and not attacking all aviation? If it is, it would appear to me that this could fall under Discrimination laws!

Why Groupon is headed to "0"....
Jumpdude replied to baronn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I agree and the Concierges are one element that I've started talking to, and they are interested, so that's in the works as well. The car or cruise was meant to be an example, but could be a target audience as well. The point was to exhibit how cross marketing could work, but you got the idea. -
Why Groupon is headed to "0"....
Jumpdude replied to baronn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It was said earlier in the thread something about the middle men bringing in people who were not looking for skydiving or not even on their radar, well the question I have is, why can't the DZO's do their own marketing and insert their sites and ads in markets that have no relation to skydiving? Like when a web surfer is looking to buy a new car, or maybe take a cruise, why not insert an ad in those searches? The point is, one of the things I've learned thru the years of exposing the sLyride/Cary Q scam is how they market to have become so successful, and I'm not talking about the scam part of it all. I mean, like, a person is looking to order a pizza, and a skydiving ad shows up. Totally unrelated subjects, but the idea is planted in that person's mind. Not saying that person will jump, but if they do, the DZ wins! Here's some ideas, run ads in singles activities markets. Get in your Google Adwords acct, if you don't have one, create one, run ads on Plenty of Fish, Date Hook Up, OK Cupid and the other dating sites. Chances are, if someone is on a dating site, they are single, lonely and looking for something to brighten their lives. Now, those ads do cost a little, but it can be MUCH more profitable than using middle men! Go one step further, make a profile! Communicate with people on those sites, and those are free to do! Advertise as vacation destinations! Get with travelocity, orbitz or the others. Here's another one that I'm working on for my area, get with the area Limo companies and get them to add your DZ to their list of excursions! Offer the limo company a small cut, still smaller than the middle men. This particular deal is a win for everyone, the DZ and the customer gets the jump, the limo company gets the hours on the car,, win win! I can tell you that people who use Black Car Services (limos) usually have lots of money and care what it cost and if their assistant does their booking, they may not even know what it cost. Anyway, the bottom line is cut the middle men out, and watch your profits increase greatly! Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

Hey, thanks, I'm just one person trying to educate the public as much as I can about the scam and how to avoid being ripped off by those criminals in Waverly, Cedartown and their other locations, and to include the DZ's who associate themselves with the criminal activity of Skyride, Spot Reservation, Sportations, Thrillant and their other names by accepting their GC's! Note to DZO's, get your head out of your asses, cut all ties with the middle men, all of them, do your own marketing and watch your business and profits soar! Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

But this is Billy we are talking about, so your idea of the sounds that come from most tents don't apply to Billy's tent!

Yup!! But ONLY for you!!!!

Like the title says,, There's something really, seriously sick in the world of skydiving today! Billy Vance just turned 47 today! I still wonder what was up with those weird moaning and grunting sounds coming from your tent at the Fitz Boogie! Happy Birthday You SICK fuck!!!!!!

Like the short description says, one of the two best DZ's in Tennessee! They have really nice planes, Turbines for busy days, and a Cessna for slower days, The staff is incredible! Always eager to help anyone improve their stills, and to help you get as many jumps as you can! Other DZ's have been labeled "Tandem Mills", well, as for most any DZ, Tandems are a majority of their business, but experienced jumpers have no problem getting jumps, so that being said, Skydive Tennessee is definitely NOT a "Tandem Mill"! They even schedule loads just for experienced jumpers, like the recent night jumps! Come jump at Tullahoma!

Skydivers who work for tourism companies?
Jumpdude replied to Jumpdude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
As Skydivers, a lot of us have jobs or own companies etc, the question is, are there many of us who work in the tourism or transportation industries? By this, I mean, like, a lot of cities have their tourism dept or tour charter companies that take tours of their cities and excursions of things to do in their area, are there many (or any) skydivers who drive or work for such depts or companies? -
USPA Raises Minimum Age to 18... Whatcha think?
Jumpdude replied to NWFlyer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This whole idea of a minimum age is bullshit! If the person can PROPERLY fit in the harness, and the TI thinks he/she is heads up enough to do the jump, what the hell is the difference? This rule, or suggestion or whatever it is, is just further cutting the throats of DZ's/DZO's across the country and further damaging an already middle man fleeced sport! The market for kids in the 14 to 17 year old age bracket is huge!! There's an incredible amount of revenue that's being lost there!! If the parent is willing to sign for it, let them jump!! Unless something has changed, the FAA is the governing authority of everything aviation, and they don't have a problem with it, or at least they haven't in the past! I mean, can the USPA do a ramp check? The FAA can!
