Yes it is possible, and not very hard either (at least in Photoshop)... I have not used Elements 2, but I think it has the features to do it. Photoshop LE comes with alot of scanners and Digital cameras so you may be able to come by it cheap... The epson printer is the better bet. I think I remember something about a Velcro panel on the back of the shirt. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

I use a bite switch as my primary. I use a hand swith to fire my second still, if it is mounted. I've been looking at a CamRL for a while, but have not gotten around to buying one... Anyone actually using one of these? Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

If all you are doing is jumping with a camera strapped to you ff helmet you may not need one... but... when you have to kown the camera is on (competition, paid student work, etc), you should have a light. It does not need to be a CamEye, but a light that tells you when you are recording and when you are not... they are not that expensive, and imho, working w/o one is unprofessional. A "Large Fine" jpeg is about 2.5 MB, a "RAW" file is about 7.4 MB... 3 fps to 8 shots in either mode All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

When you print an 8x10 from a d60 you are reducing the size, not enlarging... the original jpeg is something like 12x18... The quality stands up very well...I don't think the ordinary person could tell the difference. Can you tell which are which in the magazines (parachutist, skydiving, Sports Illustrated, etc)? jdhill replied to skyedivr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I don't know from personal experiance, I've heard that if you get it out quick it will usually be ok... a rigger might be able to answer better... BTW, Nice swoops this weekend. Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke -

when is a pond swoop a pond swoop?
jdhill replied to skyedivr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
by the offical rules of events like the Pond Swoop Nationals you would have scored no points because you did not touch the water, no water no pond swoop... but getting committed over the water is a big step... did you intend to touch the water? Was there, saw it, have video, have pictures from a differnet angle (on my web site)... they did not swoop directly at each other... they actually had quite a bit of separation... JC carved around one side of the pond while Clint carved the other... both made it to the opposite shoreline, although I don't remember Clint's landing to be very soft... was very cool to watch. I would not recommend trying this at home. Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke -
A release is a good idea, especially if you plan on marketing it any way, or if the footage is questionable. On the music... the right way to do it is to get what are called sync. rights (synchronizing images with music)... this can cost big $$$ if you are using current music... the other option is to use royalty free music... you can find this in the back of mags like Computer Video Maker (do a search in this forum, it has been discussed before)... With limited local distribution it is not likely to pop up on anybody's radar screen, but if it does just listing the title, artist, yada, yada may not keep the legal types off your back. there is lots of bumping around on jumps like the one pictured... everyone is taught how to avoid getting tanggled. the speeds are fairly slow, so if a jumper is drifting towards another, the jumper first trys to slip away from the other jumper, if that does not work, they get big and try to bounce off the lines... not being able to steer is actually a benfit... everyone generally drifts the same direction. I have seen jumpers do leap frogs... slip over a canopy, loose inflation in their own canopy, drop on to the one below, then slid off the side and reinflate... then slip under the other canopy so the other guy gets to have some fun... just have to hope you are not too close to the ground when you slide off the side Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

The netting is called an anti-inversion skirt... to keep the canopy from...uh... inverting.... no idea how it works. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

The jumper is preforming what is called a 2 riser slip... that is how one "flairs" a T-10... you grab the two risers oppoisite the direction of drift and pull them down as far as you can to slow your drift and land with a reduced amount of lateral movement... Slips can also be used to modify the direction of drift (by pulling one or two in a certain direction) the MC1 series is "steerable". It has a portion of the canopy removed (104 s.f. if I remember correctly) that gives the canopy 9.8 mph fwd speed and toggles that can cange the direction the canopy is facing... The landing suck on either canopy, especially with gear. Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Several folks are using the D30... the D60 is still in limited supply but there are a few out there with them (inlcuding me )... I've only mad a few jumps with it, but so far so good... you should be able to do a seach on digital stills and find more info in this forum... there are a few of my shots with the 60 in the "just droppin by" thread and some links to otheres... in short, great camera if you can afford one (and the lenses to go with)...
