the "flutter" problem with the 900 is not due to air getting inide the camera, as it was with the older 8mm's... it is due to the "floating iris" that was unique to the camera (at least until the 950 came out)... there is not a fix for it (that I am aware of). unfortunately, camera equipment and rigs will most likely get inspected every time... and the will break cameras and pop reserves (what is that littel electronic box w/batteries and wires inside this tightly sealed container?) They should set a system where you can have your bags inspected ahead of time and while you are there... It would be worth it to me to have to show up even earlier so I could be present for an inspection, then lock my stuff up, rather than have some special-agent wannabe damage any of my gear. I've had 3 rides... my total ratio is ~ 1:565... The interstates were built for National Defense puposes and also serve interstate commerce. The FAA directly supports interstate commerce. As for the growth... well we are at war (maybe not by congressional declaration, but we are there), but the war and Homeland security would fall under National Defense and therefore are the Federal Governments responsibility... I imagine it is hard for people with mental and physical challenges... Was the income he brought home the only thing he had to live on, or did he have some other forms of assistance (monitary or non-monitary)? There are plenty of both governmental and non-governmental programs to assist and care for those with legitimate disabilities... I guess if Bob had such a condition it was left out of the example... They are looking at a plan to restucture the way income tax is collected... part of the plan they are looking at would shift some of the burden down the ladder... If enacted, some people could see their % of the overall tax burden go up... that does not necessarily mean the $ amount would go up... some of the plans that are being explored would see everyone's $ amount go down... Most of the plans I have seen from the Dem. Party call for a new tax on this and a new tax for that, I think that is what Ari is referring to. I guess my question is that if he works really hard, how come he can only make $12K/year? No skills? No education (read dropout)? Criminal background? Immigration Status? Not a people person? The Siletto has a much shorter control range that the Crossfire and therefore may seem to be more aggressive... that said, my experiance is that the Crossfire will dive harder than a Stiletto and will surf further under the same conditions. The Stiletto also has a shorter recovery arch and higher riser pressure than the Crossfire. As someone else mentioned, if you only have 150 jumps, you have chosen a canopy/wingloading combination that can bite you very hard if you try things that you are not ready for... there is plenty of time to swoop if you approach learning it in a deliberate manner, seek professional instruction. Read the fine print is right... the USMC contract as you will get a specific job, say electroncs repairman OR the needs of the Corps... The current (well current 3 years ago) said you would get x job, provided you qualified for it at the time of training... Say you went in for Pararescue, and either got hurt in basic or when you had to retake the ASVAB you did not score the same and were no longer qualified... you were reassigned at the needs of the AF... The Army is no differnet... Say you signed up for a Ranger assignment, and failed out of RIP or Airborne School... say hello to Infantry in Alaska. I agree... read the fine print on everything. The Navy... go to sea 120 brave men... come back 60 couples... Seriously though... I am all for people serving their country by way of military service... it can be very benificial to many... but it is not for everyone. Ask your recruiter what happens if you wash out of the program... and what is the washout rate... I think it was something like 70% when I was a recuiter (for the Army)... They will probably say something like "will be reassigned at the needs of the service" which means whatever they need most at the time... Everything but the initial enlistment bonus will go away (and that might to)... oh yeah, the 6 year enlistment stays also. If you can hang with the program and like the inside of a ship... not a bad deal... but if you can't? I used to hear "my recruiter lied to me" all the time, it was rarely true... I don't shot much film anymore, but when I do I use a Pentaz ZX-10 (Which Pentax as replaced with the ZX-7)... works great... there are a few others at my DZ that also use Pentaz (when not shooting digital).
