  1. Be sure and send all letters and notices certified with a return receipt. Otherwise, they won't take you seriously. We are all engines of karma

  11. I've actually been thinking for a while now about volunteering to help this web site out. It would be fun, plus I'd get to learn how a real website is operated. I'm fluent in SQL, C, C++, perl, and many others. Reasonably fluent in java. Not sure what AJAX is, but could probably learn it pretty quickly if it's a language. Have some java script, but not a lot, since I decided to focus on java. We are all engines of karma

  17. The last roommate I had (a long time ago, not counting my wife ) never changed the toilet paper. He'd leave two little sheets on the roll. I stopped changing it too. Bought my own roll in as needed. We are all engines of karma

  21. I've had an ongoing problem like this with a neighbor. To start, I would let the thing bark nonstop for about 3 hours. Finally it got to be too much, so I started asking her to bring the dog back in (...again, after waiting a really long time). This got me NO WHERE FAST. My neighbor is a bitch, and she felt since it was her property it was my problem. So, I contacted my local police department, after debating a long time about killing the dog, decided it wasn't worth it, since the animal is neglected, and I simply couldn't bring myself to do such a thing. Come to find out, there are TOWN ORDANCES that deal with nuisance animals. You're not allowed to leave a barking dog unattended in my town. So, I just started calling the animal control officer. He finally educated her about the laws in the town. Now, being the bitch she is, she still pushed things. After the third call to the cops, she finally started to get it. What's even better, during this time, she started making up lies about me to the cops. Since I'm friends with the detectives in town, she lost her credence very quickly. Then, she slashed my tire one night (...we think it was her). She's also was telling the neighbors how she was going to have one of her cop friends wait for me to come out the pub one night and bust me for DWI. She doesn't realize that pub is where all the cops drink. Cops are firmly on my side now. She still lets the dog out, but keeps it to twenty minutes. I'm a reasonable guy, so I'm happy with the staus quo right now. We are all engines of karma
  22. Mine evolved... The pub I drink at has a NFL betting pool. I was on the waiting list for several years, and one night I walked in the the main bartender said "You're in the pool now". Wanted to know if he should use my real name or some other, as alot people use aliases. Since gambling is illegal (), I decided to use an alias. My kids at the time loved watching Scooby Doo, so that's the first name that came to mind. WHen I finally decided to start posting here, Scooby was already taken. Since I've been working in the NYC financial area (Wall Street) for a long time, the next thing that came to mind was "Street Scooby". It wasn't taken, so that's what I've been using.
