    I define science as "observation and correlation". From dictionary.com, immoral is defined as: violating moral principles; not conforming to the patterns of conduct usually accepted or established as consistent with principles of personal and social ethics. I'm sure there are people whose personal and social ethics would have problems with many areas of scientific research. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. At some risk here, I'm going to say that I don't know of any current scientific research that I find immoral. I reserve the right to change my mind on that. We are all engines of karma

    Excellent questions... It's hard to have rational discussions with poor, uneducated people. Yep, they come from a culture where bullies are allowed to win. I think they're focused on martyrdom, not improving their current life, or the lives of their family members. Islam does not want to live in peace with the rest of the world.     Yep. And most of this support for the dollar is demonstrated by buying US Govt debt. If these countries stop buying our debt, we're going to be in trouble. We are all engines of karma

    It really does frighten me that our nation's leaders are actively impeding important science because "God tells them its wrong". Makes me shake my head in disgust. We are all engines of karma

    My point is - Islam needs an internal reformation, badly. That is may potentially happen via a "civil war" between Sunnis and Shias. Hopefully not, since that will impact just about everyone on the planet. Right now, it looks like we're on this path. If we don't disarm Moqtada, the Saudis have said they're going to fully support the Sunni insurgency (they told Cheney this when he went over for his last visit). By increasing US troop levels, the Shia militias are either going to participate in politics, or pick up guns and start shooting alot more. If they do not disarm, it's going to become very bloody. Eventually, the Sunnis and Shias need to have some sort of reconciliation. Probably after they get tired of killing each other. We are all engines of karma

    Islam has yet to have its reformation. If the troop increase in Bagdahd is successful in restricting the Maqtada(sp?) sect to a purely political stance, that reformation may occur. Without doubt, it will be violent in the near term, and we'll all be involved whether we want to be or not. Thoughts and/or Comments? We are all engines of karma

    Effective militaries train constantly. Militias don't. So, I have to disagree with you here. On this point, I would like to be able to take short positions with my retirement money. Right now, the government doesn't allow that. We are all engines of karma
