Wonderful suggestions. Only problem, the guy is arrogant. I'm struggling with how to deal with what I expect to be an arrogant response. I'm in a professional setting, and right now, I don't want to simply walk away, but that's the best I can think of. He's done this before, and I had mentioned it in passing to a senior manager. The manager asked if I still needed help, and at the time I didn't. Right now, I'm looking at buying tissues for him (yesterday, I bought Halls and cough drops for him and left them on his chair). I'm also going to physically hand him the tissues and tell him (nicely I hope) to stop sucking snot back into his head. What's a nice way to say that? I know expectorating... I just don't know the scientific word for sucking snot back into your head. We are all engines of karma

I really doubt he would say that in those terms. I left a pack of Halls and a pack of cough drops on his seat over lunch. Here's to hoping he got the hint. I am seriously at my wits end with this guy. I guess I'll speak with him person next, then bring it to my managers attention after that. Not sure what else to do. We are all engines of karma

There is a person at work who has a cold, and apparently is doing nothing about it. For days now, this person has been sucking snot back into their nose, then harrumphing it back up and coughing (without covering their mouth). They're doing this frequently and loudly. Any ideas on how I can point this out to them in a polite, professional, yet effective manner? We are all engines of karma

May he rest in peace. He was a great man, in many ways. Quotes from Tibbetts: “There is no morality in war,..." "I didn’t start the war, but I was going to finish it." These quotes are from this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/01/obituaries/01cnd-tibbets.html?hp I am not a fan of the NYTimes. But, this article strikes me as fair and balanced. I am thankful our country had such men fighting for us during what must have been incredibly insane times. Our culture was at risk, and that culture responded effectively. Sometimes, I am concerned we would no longer do so in this day. At times, I feel I'm witnessing just such a lack of will to protect that which has given us our current way of life. May we be so lucky as to have more men like Tibbetts fighting for our country. We are all engines of karma

Good point. I tend to read many different web news services, and have never questioned these articles, especially when the same is quoted across disparate sites. Then again, are fatwahs posted on the internet? What about English translations? We are all engines of karma

That's why a went to the moderate web site from the NYTimes article! LOL! We are all engines of karma

Exactly what foreign policy are you referring to? While we do seem to give unequivocal support to Israel, we are also giving support to other countries in that area (e.g., Egypt). Where would be a good place to look for more information on this? We are all engines of karma

I have learned something today. Thank you, Darius. We are all engines of karma

TV is the last place I go for information. I know of several people who have visited Islamic countries. Egypt is a nightmare. Saudi Arabia is down right frightening. Turkey can be moderate in the cities. This is the feedback I'm hearing. Would I personally visit an Islamic country? Probably not, due to concerns for my safety as an obvious American. I don't think you can call it a few smaller sections. Which Islamic authorities in the Middle East are not issuing fatwahs for the destruction of non-Muslims? We are all engines of karma
