    I agree with what you are saying. I grew up with a gunsmith. I've been told over and over again about ...well this .223 is so much larger how possibly could it be the same caliber as a 22LR? Just like when he introduced me into reloading and I was confused about why the powder was measured in grains...just like the projectile is measured in grains as well. I know where you're coming from. Also with the right projectile and load I can vastly transform the properties of a standard .223 FMJ by using say a Hornady 55 grain Vmax, or soft tip. Compare two water jugs using an FMJ and a Vmax varmint round and you will still see water tricking out of the fmj jug while the vmax round completly dessimated the other jug.

    Campu I know you stance on guns. However the other poster is correct. A .223 IS a 22 caliber round. Hence the whole .22 in the .223 The difference is a .22 LR is rimfire while a .223 is a 22 Caliber Centerfire cartridge.

    My father is a LEO. I know the sheriff personally. If push came to shove Id give my rifles to my dad. If criminals dont have to give up their weapons I can find a way around it too.

    Grandfather clause or not...if people like dianne feinstein get their way it will be...just come in and REGISTER your firearms...then someone will get killed with a shotgun...oh now register THOSE too! She has already mentioned several times she would like nothing better than to have all the guns 'off the streets'. Which means disarms private law abiding citizens. She couldnt give a shit about criminals. ANY registration is the first step towards confiscation. She can suck a nut because I'm not registering shit.

Not only does my father run the range for all the local sherrifs he used to train their SWAT team on urban tactics. Is it hard to see when your head is stuck up your arse? I wouldnt know.

    It's a SWAT situation only if there is time to call SWAT. There wasn't. So the cop on scene took out the immediate threat, as she was trained to do. Yes, we all know that there are police officers who probably aren't well suited for their job. That doesn't mean someone with little to no training is better suited to that job. There you go with your assumptions again. So every single ccw holder ONLY has the minimum training? None of us were trained by the government ahead of time? None of them go to the range with police officers? You need to stop your assinine statements before you make yourself look even more stupid.

    Yes, police can abuse their authority. Of course, CCW holders can abuse their right to carry. As amusing as your incorrect use of appeal to authority? Your belief that it's all about aiming ability demonstrates rather well that a CCW applicant is not nearly as well suited for situations requiring deadly force than a typical cop is.     You're confusing police officers with waiters. Police are not part of the service industry. I seriously doubt she would still have a job if her superiors found out she allowed a violent felony to be committed in her presence without taking any action. There is a reason that many police departments require off-duty officers to carry a gun. My father has 40+ years in law enforcement in Texas. I know the difference. Obviously you dont. My dad was stabbed in the back serving an arrest warrant in the 50's. When you read the article in the houston chronicle it reads 29 year old ni**er woman stabs HPD officer in back. I had to do a double take and read it again. It was definately a different time back then.
