Good guess on the Dutch. According to World Lingo it's... "Work out not always one stipulates by the manufacturer. With the time stretch and wear out the lines. On high a performance cupola can a vijftal centimetre large differs to make. According to Article of rigger Derek Vanboeschoten in the magazine Skydiving, must the wheel lines of a new cupola even a beetje too long is. By it use rises it to 10 cm krimp the lines by rubbing the slider concerning the lines. The lines of a cupola serve of time to time to replace to when them them work out losses. However the same skydiver which netjes the links of their carriage exchange if they wore out his and those are oil on time changes never to think how it use is parachute influences." InterTran provides this translation... "The trim is being not ever undoubtedly through the manufacturer. With the tense stretch and wear out the line. Worn one high performance pavilion may five centimetre one wide distinction take. In accordance with one section with rigger Derek Vanboeschoten within the storehouse Skydiving , will the stuurlijnen with one new pavilion very some within tall one's. Through the way comes yonder until cm crimp worn the line through the rub with the slider via the line. The line with one pavilion should with tense until tense supersede within turn whenever they they trim lose. Nochtans will the same skydiver who properly the licentious with one's venture interchangeable when they worn one's and who one's petroleum in time permanent tooth yonder not ever upon think the the way one's parachute influenced. " Between the two you kind of get the jist of it. This site has a really nice form that links to all of the translators out there. OK I must be the only mutant here who actually goes for the risers during deployment. By that I mean that after I dump I put my hands, palms open and facing back, and catch the risers as they flip up. Only gotten cut a couple times when the canopy spun up and I caught my fingers between the twisted risers... ouch. Still, I like having hold of the risers during as much of the opening sequence as I can. Then again, I could see my fingers getting broken if the risers spun up *really* bad. So maybe I need to break the habit before it breaks me. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Hey Dave, if you want we can play with your HD a bit this weekend. I have several problems in HD... fortunately falling fast isn't one of them. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

What's you're ProTrack saying on average for your sit? Just my $0.02, but it should be the HDers slowing down for you as much as you speeding up for them. I've worked on my HD with a lot of sitfliers and it really has helped improve my range. I still sink out from time to time, but not nearly as much as I used to. Bwahahahaha! I felt like a little kid on ecstacy riding a mechanical bull. The exit went sweet and for a brief spell I thought we were gonna do it. Then it sorta went "Ooop... crap... shit... oh shit... oh shit...ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshit...." You got any stills from video by any chance? OOoooooo!!! OOoooooo!!! OOoooooo!!! I'd prolly have to do part of the belly portion cuz I'm not good enough to hang (unless we have the hangers sitting) and I'm definitely not good enough to be a stinger (unless I did a hand dock from a sit... and that would still be iffy). Yeah, just like with RW a solid base is the key. I'm up for practicing with the base configuration until we're solid all the way down if others are (man I've got a lot on my "to do" plate right now ). "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

I thought that as well when i first started out. Now I'm not so sure I wanna hear "Nice funnel, dumbass." during a skydive. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

You do have a Cypres, right? "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

We were sort of kicking around different funky exits to try. One was to exit in a sit/spock combo. We did a belly exit where I grabbed Ramon's chest strap, went into a sit & swung him over the top of me. Very fun! I sort of got to wondering. There's got to be a lot of other cool stuff people here have tried. What sort of "funky" exits do y'all like to do? "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Wait 'till we post the pics of Rachill's 500th. Trent was gonna spock her and then backed off when he thought "What if my hand gets tangled in that hair?" Me? 2:10:2 Most of that was doing freefly laeague stuff. I'm on two teams and so I was jumping my butt off, but learning a heckuva lot. Rachill & I did a head-down proximity exercise that really helped us both out a lot. We actually flew to each other within docking range so that's a first. Later in the weekend I managed a solid dock with Ramon, so that's the other (somewhat related) first. Whee! "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Just in this one weekend I've felt like I've made some progress. These kinds of thngs are good. They give you focus to work on basic skills that we sometimes ignore. I can't tell you how many times I've done a dive where the "dirt dive" was along the lines of: "Whadda you want to do?" "I dunno. Whadda you want to do?" "I dunno..." So thanks for putting this together! I'm looking forward to next month and comparing.

Aw man! How can you say that? Pink is the baddest of the bad paint jobs I think I've seen! Does Pink ever make it over state-side? "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Congrats Pammi & Merrick! Everyone I've talked to loves NC. Good luck in the job hunt! Any chance y'all will make it to Richmond? "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

I'll try and make it. If I actually make plans to go out during the week it seems like something inevitably comes up that keeps me at work. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

I'm with Josh. Might as well know if they're gonna have problems with it up front, because they will eventually find out and I'd rather work somewhere that didn't have a problem with it. I got the inevitable "So what do you do in your spare time?" question during the interview for my current job and I said, "Well, I like to read, golf, cook, play with computers, jump out of airplanes..." His eyes bugged out. But it wound up being good fodder for discussion during that and other interviews. It's funny. Now when anyone does a tandem they all come running up to tell me. It's kinda cool.

Oop. Should have clarified. I meant the state record attempts. Though the problem is probably still the same. "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

Yee haw! Let the fun begin! "Zero Tolerance: the politically correct term for zero thought, zero common sense."

getting back to the original topic... Definitely true. Nothing against Red Bull, but the more exposure we get to the "big" sponsors, the better IMHO. Hey Pip, two questions... 1. Is there going to be any media coverage of the event? Some positive coverage, which maybe dispels some of the more prevalent whuffo myths, would be a Good Thing (tm). Maybe even get a newscaster to do a tandem or something. 2. More important, is the Otter flying today? I wanna make a jump after work.
